as you are over 30 BMI then you have enough fat store to not have to eat back your exercise calories. as this store reduces then it may well be advisable to eat back some of them and eventually most if not all of them

when I walk it suppresses my appetite but on long walks I kinda feel a bit hungry at the end but then again I suppose I should as it take me 3 hours and I cover 12 miles or so
-
if you walk at 5 MPH and jog at 5 MPH they are about the same as far as calorie burn is concerned if you up the speed to 5.5 MPH then walking uses more calories I read a study on it somewhere if I can find a link I'll post it. also walking will be lower impat on the joints

I've fallen off the wagon so many times now I'm thinking of changing my name to YoYo! but one day I'll get it right
-
if the calories taken in exceed the calories used then yes the sugars will be converted and stored as fat
-
I on the other hand never net above my BMR what works for one may not work for another
-
is this important?
-

I have been off them for 4 years and 7 months but you have to accept you will forever be a smoker just that you are choosing not to smoke today!

What kind of exercising? ie gentle, moderate or intense
-
BMR is the calories you need to maintain your body when it is at rest, that layed down in a darkened room without noise distraction. getting up and moving around doing your normal dailey lie burns more, how much more depends on your activity level. asuming you eat your BMR calories you and don't rest all day you can expect…

I'm interested in that 2 treatments and 2 30min exercise sessions removes 4 Cm of fat
-
the DASH you mention uses 18% on page 11 but dosn't tell you why either, higher Protien intake is an problem to those with Kidney issues, the rest of the population will simply metabolise excess protein into Glycogen.
-
over eating protien may be a problem IF you have a pre existing Kidney problem otherwise the body will turn excess protien into sugar and use it as energy
-
I found it kind of old news really. the blueberry muffin, banna and coffee would take 50 mins of moderate exercise to work off no supprise there as the total calories would be in the range of 500-600 HIT might work for you but it might not going for a long walk helps with digestion and reduce fat levels in the blood stream…

another researcher justifing their research grant :-) unless of course I suddenly stop losing weight because of the publishing of this article

Erm a 1 Km dash on a spin bike is not really and indication of fitness there are many ways of determining it . recovery heart rate the time it takes to recover to resting pulse is a widley accepted method od determining fitness.

the guys web site uses an example of These calorie expenditure numbers are based on a man weighing 180 lbs. Stationary Cycling (moderate intensity): 572 kcal/hour less BMR apprxo 80kcals leave a net deficit of 500 Kcals therefore 7 hours of spinning - 1lb weight loss his artical promotes load bearing exercise as a better…
-
when you distill it all down if you use more energy than you eat you will lose weight
-
are you doing the calculation right? IE (BODMAS) just a thought
-
because you are using the minimum Calorie intake of 1200 Kcals a day it is more a case of nutrition rather than calories I suspect. if you are topping up calories use during work outs then a choc bar may well be good if just topping up calories to 1200 then perhaps something with vitamins, Iron, Calcium etc would be better

Women: C/min = (-20.4022 + 0.4472 x HR + 0.1263 x weight + 0.074 x age) / 4.184 weight is in kg http://www.triathlontrainingblog.com/calculators/calories-burned-calculator-based-on-average-heart-rate/ hope this helps

-

-

-
if you are eating low fat yoghurts try thr normal full fat ones replace skimmed milk with semi skimmed of even full fat. of course be prepared for the 'you're eating junk food' argument, but if you are burning the calories you need the right foods

I have a Polar F6 it is 7 years old and has given me great service unfortunetly it is no longer in production. try and look for one that allows you to input Vo2 Max. Vo2max is importnat for more acurate monitoring although not essential. for every 1 litre of oxygen used you burn 4 calories
