this can get complex but I'll give it a shot the higher the heart rate the more calories you burn. after 20 mins or so the body has switched to burning fat/ muscle tissue as its primary source of energy supply hence body builders dont like to do large amounts of cardio. if you slow your pace to "fat burning zone" heart…
-
it calculates on a range between 100 beats per minutes to 150 beats per minute higher or lower than that the formula used is inaccurate
-
I'm wondering what exactly is cardio is it a long walk count? or jogging or running at 75% max HR? I like to do long hill walks (3-3:30 Hrs) as much for mental health as any physical benefits is that cardio?
-
in short No, its all estimated

'You do NOT need to replace those types of calorie burn because that's already included in your BMR. ' BMR dose not take into account any exercise it is the calories burnt at rest 24/7
-
West Yorkshire
-
the basic argument is you should consume no less then the calories needed to maintain weight when resting all day also known as BMR you bmr is around the 1950 mark
-
if it is a HRM then it should base the calories burn on the average heart rate
-
Not sure if you are using a heart rate monitor but try this rate 2 cal burn (313) plus rate 4 cal burn(732) =1045 divide by 2 = 522.5
-
take your highest reading and lowest reading add them together then divide by 2 you will come to an average rough and ready iknow but probably a reasonable estimate
-
Calories Burned = [(Age x 0.2017) + (Weight x 0.09036) + (Heart Rate x 0.6309) -- 55.0969] x Time / 4.184.

it depends, whats your normal life style?

isn't this how we all got fat in the first place?
-
undoubtadly diet is the main method to lose weight
-
an elephants penis ROLFMAO
-
some times they are the same as my HRM somtimes they are less depends on how hard I worked in my exercise period. you can only use it as a guide IMHO
-
I like the assumption that the under reporting of calories is for diet foods and some how 'normal' foods are accurate. might explain some peoples plataus as they could be eating a lot more than they think

5 years ago I gave up smoking I put on 36lbs in about 4 months over the last 18 months I have got my self back to my "smoking weight" the health benefits are to many to list here but suffice to say my children are very happy i've gone through this process
-
45lb weight loss at 5'1 and you you don't feel it will be much of a loss! seems to me you need to re-evaluate.
-
Not Zumba but I do Ballroom and Latin American my HRM tells me that an hour of good practice in the ballroom equals an hour hill walking which I also do. last saturday night out social dancing with my wife I burnt 1700 Kcals (net) and that was with a half hour tea break.
-
the Maths of their machine are this 212lb 42% = 89.04lbs of fat 202lb 46% = 92.92 lbs of fat so they reckon you have put on 4 lbs of fat join a different Gym
-
where did they find underweight people in America?
-
polar mines a F6 over 10 year old and still going strong
-
depends on how accurate you track the execise calories Vs calories eaten I suppose for example I wear a HRM yesterday I did a 10.5 mile walk it gave me 1719 Cals (gross) in 2hours 33 mins today I did the same walk HRM gave me 2062 Cals gross in 2 hours 30 mins so I have over a 300 Kcal variance between the walks tricky…
-
7% body fat are you aiming for 0%?
-
so following your logic at what point in time will you be able to eat zero calories and still live?
-
bear this in mind because at some point you will gain 3-5 lbs for no apparant reason in a couple of days I once gained 7 lb over night
-
Hmmmm realistic goal to lose 4 Stone in 4 months, many many MFPers will shout to fast a weight lose to unhealthy, etc etc comes down to how much weight in fat you are carrying to me
