it uses data you imput such as age sex weight height then monitors you heartbeat per minute then using what ever calculations the manufactures have programed into it it gives you a max hearbest per minute an average hearbeat per min and a clorie count based on data recived, not all monitors are equal.

fair enough but I would be concerned at being under calorie goals and gaining weight. I don't mean to be patronising but I would seek a medical or nutirionalist opinion jus to be safe

is it possible for you to walk outside at all, being out in the open air and brisk walking has helped me a lot with depression
-
you could try very brisk walking it is low impact. just make sure you keep one foot on the ground all the time and real brisk 5 to 5.5 mile an hour
-
you're under calories male and gaining weight?
-
when you retook the tests you didn't excercise as hard therefore the HRM calculated a slightly lower zone, its not going to affect your calorie count much, especially if you can't put in an accurate Vo2 Max figure. in short don't stress over it.
-
I asumme you mean the training zone. it wont matter that much that its a couple of beats difference either way as it is a training zone.

As far as I am aware 2 things happen. 1/ having used the store of energy in the muscle it is replaced and a bit more besides because your body now expects the same sort of expenditure again. engery (glycogen) is stored in the muslce 1 part glycogen to 3 parts water. 2/ muscles repair and rebuilding is going on so extra…

without Sodium we die so its a double edge sword some where close to RDA sould be fine in most cases assuming you have no underlying heath issues
-
sugar is sugar, unless you are diabetic its not a big issue
-
I do wonder as to what might constitute proper exercise. unless its a 26 mile run followed by 200 reps of lifting heavy weights it dosn't count! perhaps
-
Maybe you have your profile to lighlty active instaed of sedentry
-

Net Calories is the total number of calories consumed (eaten) minus the total number of calories used (living and exercising) if the number is positive you put on weight if the number is negative you lose weight

it could be a number of things most commonly refered to as shin splints. Best to go see a doctor or phyisotherapist. if you press the muscle is it hard and is the muscle at the back of the leg firm or hard , as the two muscle work together. it could be as simple as an over use injury and the muscle is inflamed if it is…
-
is it the muscle on the outside front of your shin?
-
in short then, "a wonder diet " :-) I believe that a small calorie deficeit with a sensible exercise program is the way to do it.
-
They don't have big stomachs. They do have linternal organs that basically remain the same size They do have wasted muscle mass most noticable in the arms and legs
-
if its true shin splints then you need to rest, I suspect its not true shin splints. I have a similar problem and have been advised to stretch the muscles out correctly and fully but only when warm.

well now lets see if I can help I walked 5.35 miles this morning and my HRM gave me 950 Kcals for the 1hour and 18 minutes that it took me thats brisk walking Last night I walked with my wife 3.25 miles in 58 minutes a more moderate pace and burned 485 Kcals my wife who is 5' 0" burned 350 Kcals. regards
-
would include a little more salt and potasuim in the diet work?
-
maybe you are not burning 600 Kcals and those reported are gross Kcals not net Kcals to get net take your daily allowance and divide by 24
