I'm glad someone brought this up! Thanks for posting.

I wear a hat from these guys: http://www.headsweats.com/products/AirLite-Hat.html It's made of a nice wicking fabric, and there's a sweatband built in. Plus, they are machine washable! I have had the same two for ten years and they're still going strong.

It can sometimes be related to a reduction in carbohydrate intake and/or sodium intake. For me, if I suddenly eat fewer carbs, I experience the same thing.

Actually, some birth control works by tricking your body into thinking you already are pregnant, so that you don't release another egg. So...

5 mph. Let's see. I'm 5'11", have a 35 inch inseam, and when I'm walking fast, I can walk 4 miles per hour. 3.5 mph is more comfortable to me. 5 mph is a speed that slow joggers can keep up. hope some of the replies you're getting are helpful! If you are near a quarter mile track, it is the pace at which you could walk…

raw beets are great grated onto a salad!

I really like white tea and oolong tea.

This is an excellent campaign! At 39, I am not yet in the colonoscopy range (no family indicators, no affiliated health issues), but I promise to schedule it as soon as my doctor tells me it's time! I'm good like that.

Whenever I have had a dilemma like this in the past, if I need to ask myself, "am I being stupid?" It means... that I'm being stupid! :blushing: I think you already know what people are going to say, but that you were maybe needing some confirmation to walk away... being casual with this guy is just not going to work,…

Back when I was in my 20's, I used to feel ginormous... it seemed like my friends were all short and a size 2 or 4! Back then, I was quite slim myself, but being so much taller than them made me feel enormous, especially when we went out dancing. I'd look around the club and only see 1 or 2 people in the entire place that…

Ugh, I feel your pain! Sleep problems are the worst. It's very hard to feel motivated to exercise when you're exhausted - believe me I know! Now that exercise has been a habit, I've become better at convincing myself that I'm exhausted anyway, so I might as well exercise... not like I could possibly become even more…

Also, if the extra food you've been eating is salty in nature, you might just be retaining some extra water! Congrats on losing the inches - that's important, too!

I have been stuck at 184.5 for WEEKS! It is driving me craaaazy. This week, I am working really, really hard to pick snacks that are not empty calories, and making sure to exercise every day. I'm dyin' to get back into the 170's! I find that snacking isn't always because I'm hungry, but because I'm bored, so I try to make…

Hi, all, my brother is a chiropractor and worked as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist prior to that. He has created a few videos for how to use the foam roller. You can google "Hosmer foam roller" for a bunch of results, and here is a link to his blog: http://hosmerchiropractic.com/blog/ I hope that helps!

I'm basing my goals on a past weight that I felt and looked good at.

I was 5'4" at 10 years old, and topped out at 5'11". A few weeks ago, the 4th graders came to visit the middle school they'll be attending next year (where I work), and there was a 4th grade girl (so, 9-10 years old?) who was as tall as I was. I was quite taken aback! I resisted saying anything to her, because I'm sure she…

I have the Xbox Kinect and really enjoy: Dance Central/ Dance Central 2 - I created a dance playlist of the songs I like Zumba Rush - loads of Zumba workouts Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012 - a kajillion workouts to choose from Black eyed Peas Experience - dancing to Black Eyed Peas music

I agree about the water regarding the headaches. But if you are just feeling exhausted... do you ever take a rest day to let your body recover? Maybe you're running yourself down?

The first step is definitely some padded bike shorts! As for saddles, my favorite thus far has been my Terry Butterfly. Terry makes some great saddles, and some wonderful bike shorts, too. What kind of bike do you ride? That will affect what kind of saddle you'll want to get. If you're sitting upright on a cruiser style…

Sorry you were made to feel so crummy. How demoralizing! Luckily, you have all of us telling you what I bet you already know: that you are doing a fantastic job! :flowerforyou:

This is how I'm feeling, too. Although losing weight is hard, KEEPING it off is 200 times harder. People try to argue with me saying that once I get to goal weight, I'll know how to eat right, but if history has shown me anything, it's that that is just not true. I've gained it back (and then some) every single time. And…

This thread makes me remember the time my sister and I were on a camping tour in Australia - in our tour group, we had my sister and me from the Boston-ish area, a woman from Australia, A woman from Ireland, a man from Northern Ireland, a woman from England, a man from South Africa, a woman from Canada, and a woman from…

Definitely marking this thread to peruse later... I live not too far away, but am looking for "staycation" ideas for this summer! I personally love Portland - a great port city with good walking around stuff, good restaurants, etc.

Well, I guess we'll find out once I get back down to 150-160.... if I'm amazingly a size 8 or 10, then your theory holds! If I'm STILL a size 12, then we'll know that the brands I usually wear haven't changed their sizing. (Also, I have clothes left over from then, so will be able to see whether I fit back into…

It really is so variable! I"m 5'11" and am about 185 pounds right now. I'm not quite into a size 12 now, (14's are getting loose) but because of how I carry my weight, even when I weighed 150, I was STILL a size 12, sometimes a 10 but not usually.

Not only that, but a large percentage of your total daily calories is alcoholic beverages. Nothing wrong with having a drink, of course, but it means that a big percentage of your daily caloric intake is non nutritive in value. I have a feeling that if you bump up your FOOD calorie intake and make sure to get more protein,…

I LOVE THIS. Thank you for posting! :flowerforyou:

I find that 75% is my favorite. My current favorite chocolate is Taza Stone Ground Chocolate, which is made about 30 miles away from where I live - too cool! Also ultra delicious. http://www.tazachocolate.com/

Hi, I am 5'11! I topped out at 202.5 pounds and am currently at 185. I"m almost 40, and not sure I'll be able to get back into the 150's, but I'd like to at least get close. :)

That negative voice inside of us can be so tough to deal with! A certain amount of weight fluctuation is normal and shouldn't be seen as weight "gain". If you are PMS'ing, or ate a very salty meal, etc., you'll naturally carry a few extra pounds of water weight, for instance. You're going to have to train your inner voice…
