  • Well, I lost a few pounds last month, but I've been holding steady at the same weight for like 4 weeks. At this time of year, I'm going to go ahead and call that a win! SW January 2018: 215 CW: 188 GW: 175 I'm 5'11", 46 years old, and I've been trying to get to the gym a few times a week and log my food daily. (for the…
  • 11/03- 191 11/10- 188 11/17- 188 11/24- 188 11/30 Hmm. I seem to be bouncing around between 186-188. I need to remember to be patient; I'm maybe 12 pounds away from a non-overweight BMI, so things will go a bit more slowly from here on out! Keeping my eyes on the prize!
  • 11/03- 191 11/10- 188 11/17- 188 11/24 11/30 OK, no change from last week. But I'm still tracking and logging my food, and I'm still feeling all right about it. As long as I'm losing a couple of pounds per month, I'm happy. I'm about 15 pounds away from a goal weight so I know it's going to be slow going! I've also been…
  • 11/03- 191 11/10- 188 11/17 11/24 11/30 I don't think I was expecting to lose three pounds! I did go away last weekend and definitely tied on the feedbag, so I think there was some debloating happening. The next few weeks (including Thanksgiving) will really be telling. I really wanted to be mindful of what I was putting…
  • RIGHT, definitely aggravating that you have to put in that disclaimer every time! I might severely tower over you at 5'11", but I feel ya. I definitely feel the need to state my height when I put my GW, which might seem pretty high to some at 175. If I see anyone giving you any lip for your GW, I'll tower over them and…
  • Well, they say to add in as many supports as possible, so here goes! I was super faithful with keto from 1/1/18 until December 18... and then I just.... stopped. I'd still choose keto recipes to cook at home, but I'd snack and was definitely not in ketosis. So, I'm finally back! SW 1/1/18: 215 Lowest weight: 185 - I dipped…
  • I have found that the few times I've gone off plan on purpose, I can get back on really easily. One of those times, I did a 24 hour fast on a Monday after a carbolicious weekend, and I was back on track really quickly. However, this past weekend I had an accidental slip, and now I can feel those old habits sneaking back…
  • I'd suggest trying it for longer than 2 weeks, too.... at first, you're unaccustomed to the meals, don't know what to eat, you might not be feeling too hot as your body goes through changes... I'd suggest a few months to get used to the different way of eating.
  • I'm very lucky, I go to a very small Thanksgiving gathering with a very understanding chef! She won't bug me if I don't taste everything, and has already asked me what I'm planning on eating/ avoiding. But if I imagine going to a larger celebration, I'd probably stick to a nice serving of meat, some green beans or other…
  • Soooo it's not a recipe, but Joseph's lavash wraps are just 4 net carbs per serving (half of one bread), which the lazy side of me definitely appreciates! https://www.amazon.com/Josephs-Lavash-Bread-Whole-Reduced/dp/B0079OUVF4
  • OMG if I still might be able to look forward to having energy and feeling rested in the morning, I am pretty excited! That would be so amazing.
  • how long have you been on a low carb diet? 10 months how much did you weigh when you started and how much have you lost? I'm 5'11", I started at 215, and I've lost a bit over 30 pounds. I have like 8 pounds to go until I reach a "normal" BMI. how many carbs do you eat a day? About 25 net carbs. how much protein and fat do…
  • Love, wealth, and pot??? HMMMM PLOT TWIST
  • https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01F3LJ2RW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1 I have a withings/ nokia scale; i like that it automatically syncs to MFP, too. I am not sure how accurate it is with regard to body fat and water and such, but it's probably accurate relative to itself, so you can measure progress. I…
  • salad with meat on top. repeat. ;-)
  • Hi, I JUST looked through my journal from last January, and apparently at the end of the month, I was feeling frustrated, like my weight loss had stalled after just one month! Now, I'm a solid 30 pounds down and looking back, I definitely was not stalled. Weight fluctuates from day to day, but over all of that time, my…
  • I'm just aiming for a weight where I felt comfortable and healthy in the past. After losing 30 pounds, it's now only 10 pounds away, so I really am not stressing too much about it!
  • I love variety, except at breakfast! I'm just too groggy in the morning to be creative. But I am frequently searching for something new for dinners, thank goodness for the internet!
  • Weight loss KEEPING the weight off over time Shrinking in size even in months I'm not losing weight My knees don't hurt No cravings Less hunger overall Easier to get back on track after I choose to have a non-keto meal I'm still wishing for: better sleep more energy but after 9 months, I still sleep terribly and I'm tired…
  • That's great! Make sure to update us after the NEXT 18 pounds!!! I found it slowed down after the first two months, but my SIZE kept shrinking even during the months I only lost a pound or two.
  • I was really nervous at first, since it's so different from how I had been eating before. What I learned is that you'll adjust things along the way, figure out what works best for you, and add favorites to your arsenal of foods/ recipes as time goes on.
  • January 2018 to June 2018, with June on the left, about 28 pounds down... I've been paying more attention to my body..... I just noticed the difference in my face and I can hardly believe it!
  • NSV at the movies: Ben & Jerry's ice cream was buy one, get one free and my fiance ordered some ice cream. It's my favorite food, but it actually wasn't hard to say no. I had a small bite of his and it tasted... really way to sweet! I didn't feel deprived and I'm not sorry I saved room for a healthy dinner instead.

  • That is so cool!!! I have been taking measurements every month, and the month where I only lost 1.3 pounds, I still lost 1/2 inch at my bust, underbust, waist, and hip. And that was with ... um... not a lot of exercising. I'm really enjoying watching the changes in my body with this way of eating.
  • OK, so I have now lost ALMOST 30 pounds, and I"m indeed down a SINGLE pants size, and down from an XL top to a L. Very few people have said anything, although to be fair, I frequently don't notice on others either unless it's a LOT of weight. I can think of one coworker in particular who is shorter than we are, but who…
  • And now a number of months later, I now only outweigh him by about 6 pounds! I told him, "I'm coming for you!" LOL We actually dated over 20 years ago, when I was still a couple of inches taller, but he definitely outweighed me back then. At best, I'm hoping for close to equal weight this time around. Anyway, we're not…
  • I might even say to give it a couple of MONTHS before you give up... it can take a while for your body to adjust to a new way of eating! I remember feeling really stressed at the beginning, because not only was my body adjusting to a different variety of foods, but my brain needed to think about meal planning in a…
  • What a nice feeling! It's one thing to watch the scale drop or to watch your clothes get baggy, sure.. those can be motivators... but when your body can start doing all of the things you're asking it to do, it's just total bliss! It's like you're setting yourself free to do all of the things you didn't feel like doing…

  • I did have a "SV" this week, but a big NSV this week was putting on some spring work pants that were snug last year, and realizing I PROBABLY should NOT wear them to work because I could pull them off without unzipping them!!! LCHF is the first "diet" I have ever done where I'm losing inches even in the months that I'm not…

  • Even junky restaurants usually have some sort of salad and meat combo you can eat, like a salad and a burger with no bun, or grilled chicken... I'll look at menus online if I can beforehand so I can scope things out.
