The problem is that these numbers are estimates. Your body is the ultimate source of truth. If you haven't lost weight in 8 months you have found your maintenance. By all means, see your Dr. if you have fears of a medical issue...but when all is said and done you haven't been eating at a deficit.

Agree!

Every day. I'm another Trendweight user.

My highest was 29,244 steps. That same day I also hit my highest floors, calories and distance. We were hiking in up to Harney Peak in South Dakota and managed to make a couple of wrong turns. I should have walked a bit more to get to 30,000 but I was pooped!
-
No. That sort of thing should already be included in your activity level.
-
Congratulations! What a change!

Add some lemonade and you have a drink for your pool party!

The day I hit my goal weight I am going to do a little happy dance and then promise myself that I will keep logging my food and weighing in every morning. My history shows that I gain when I stop doing those two things and this time is going to be different! After that I will set a new goal for myself...it will…

Here is a guess from me about what might be happening. Summer vacation started and you are no longer running around at school so your activity level dropped. Then you started working out really hard for an hour so your daily activity actually dropped even more because you figure "I worked out hard so I can take it easy…

Sounds like you are having success with the 1500, why change it? I also lose with eating about 1500 a day and not eating back exercise calories. Check out TDEE method...I think that is what you are doing and many people have great success with it. edit to add: You can just go in and change your calorie goal to 1500 in your…

Your husband who spends an hour a day on the pot after every meal sounds like the one with the problem.

I'm a nerd so I have to try it out too. My name is Amerielle, same as here (also same as one of my WOW characters  ). Feel free to add me!

Are you trying to do the "six small meals a day" thing? I personally hate that and find myself hungry all of the time. If that is what you are doing, you might want to try just eating some real meals instead of the constant snacking. I am much happier putting my calories together for big satisfying meals that fill me up.

I am enjoying my Aria. The body fat measurement on all digital scales is silly. Like editor, I love just stepping on every morning and having my weight go to fitbit, trendweight and mfp. I tried getting on and off this morning and got a 0.2 difference which I figure is probably just the scale warming up under my feet.…
-
As has been mentioned, the Fitbit will include your BMR in it's calculations. That is probably the source of the discrepancy you are seeing.

I don't use a food scale because I can lose weight without it. I like to do things the easiest way possible. If at some point I'm not getting the results I want, I will consider a food scale as my next step. I say if it isn't broken...

I have had my One for over a year and LOVE it. If I lost it today, I would have to run to the store to buy a new one tonight. That being said, something that doesn't come up in these discussions is How much is $100 to you? I mean, if it is the difference between making your mortgage payment this month or not, then it…

Agree 100%. If I want to eat that sort of food I might as well pick up a frozen dinner at the grocery store and pop it in the microwave.
-
If you have many friends who use a fitbit you should get one too! It is so fun to "compete" with each other. I can't tell you how many times I have gone for an extra walk in the evening to get a few extra steps so I can outstep one of my friends. lol
-
I think the recommendation to buy a scale is a food scale, not a scale to weigh your body. Good luck in meeting your goals!

I'm a night shift nurse too. I have the same thing happen with my weight. One night, no problem. More than one shift...gain. For me, it's water weight. I feel so bloated after multiple shifts that I can hardly bend my fingers and it takes a couple of days off to even things back out. I track my food as awake to asleep…

Glad you figured out how to edit your runs! I once had a run that didn't record at all. I just turned it on and let it play over again and then edited the distance with my numbers from when I ran it.
-
That's too bad you can't edit it. :frown: I am able to put in any number I want. Great job on the running! Just keep on and you will be surprised how quickly you improve!

Welcome Runner 5! The GPS on my Zombies Run app doesn't seem to function correctly so I have been using RunKeeper to keep track of my distance. I'm on week 8 and have just recently discovered how to edit my run lengths! Go to https://www.zombiesrungame.com and log in. Then click on My Profile. You will get a screen with…

I never tell people I'm on a "diet". In that situation I would have totally gone out with them to the ice cream place but I would get an iced tea or something. If asked I would respond that I'm really full from lunch but thirsty from my walk...this tea really hits the spot! Well, really to tell the truth I probably would…

I agree with a previous poster...go ahead and try not logging food but keep weighing in. Weight goes up=oops, better track. Weight goes down or you maintain=yay! I personally don't want to continue to log my food for the rest of my life but I think that for me daily weigh ins are the key.
-
I have repeated weeks along the way too. I figure the goal is to increase our running distance and speed, not finish the app in exactly 8 weeks. No shame in listening to your body and not pushing yourself too far. :-)
-
You are all so precise! I have been sort of winging it. :-) I might have to look into a timer as my weights get heavier! (I'm really naughty...sometimes I do my calf work during my rest time on the medium and light days. I'm sure that will change for later cycles as those days turn into what was once my heavy day.)
-
I guess I take the term "free form run" seriously. :-) The Doc tells us to run when we can and walk if we have to so I just push myself...but not too much. Try running a minute and walking 30 seconds or whatever you can do during the five minute runs. It's all good!
