  • I don't worry about naming my meals, I just log wherever. I also count a day's eating as "awake" time, no matter when that is. I work 7p-7:30a so I will have times such as my first shift of the week when I'm awake for 24 hours or so and then my last shift when I go to bed after work, get up around 3 and then am back to bed…
  • Good for you Grannie! I love reading your updates!
  • Pretty much whatever Cathe dvd I feel like doing for the day. Usually Gym Style Legs and Pyramid Upper Body but I toss in other things as the mood strikes.
  • Congratulations! Hard work and mindfulness pays off at any age!
  • I have been pretty much letting the Fitbit do it's thing. I still wear my hrm for cardio but I use it for heart rate only. I never wear it for strength training and I also don't log strength training in MFP (any calorie burn is just a bonus to me). If I did an activity like cycling or swimming I would probably log that…
  • I weigh myself daily and log here when I have a confirmed loss (or gain). I like doing it daily because my weight can fluctuate 4 lbs or so day to day so if I picked the wrong day for a weekly weigh in I might be a little sad. I have started logging daily at beeminder and I enjoy the fancy graph that site creates for me.
  • Hello Turtles! I'm April and I'm 44 (I'll be turning 45 during this challenge!) and a mother of four and grandma to one. I'm not sure how a grandma is supposed to feel but I know I'm not quite ready for a rocking chair just yet! I also work nights as a nurse and I am constantly working to keep myself healthy in spite of my…
  • I hit 7075 cals out of my 8000 goal. I am pretty happy with that...I'm thinking I will go with 8000 again for June. Great job everyone and I'll see you over in the June challenge!
  • 900 for me. I knew it would be a bad week but at least it's over...now I can get back to business! :-)
  • I'm in!!
  • Still chugging along here! Week 1 Goal 2000 Burned 2075 Week 2 Goal 2000 Burned 2200 This week is the super busy week I have been worrying about...I will do what I can but I have 4 12.5 hour shifts in a row at work which will leave me with almost no time to sleep, let alone burn calories!
  • I am setting a goal again of 2000 cals burned but I am going to try to go over because after this week I have a couple of really crazy busy work and kid activity filled weeks. I need a buffer going into them if possible to meet my month goal of 8000.
  • My goal was 2000 and I burned 2075 so I have 75 in the "bank" for next week! :-) I had a good workout today...I'm doing the Zombies, Run 5k training and today was week 3 day 3. I was able to run for 7 minutes out of the last 8 min free run. Huge improvement for me!
  • 400 cals burned today so I am at 1500/2000 for the week, on track so far!

  • I love it! I have both the 5k training and the regular app. So motivating to get out there and run so I can hear the next part of the story. The group here is called Zombies, Run! Group. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/6504-zombies-run-group
  • My goal for this challenge is 2000 cals per week, but looking ahead at my schedule I have one week in May where I will be lucky to even get in a walk. So I have decided I'd better bump up this week a bit to make up for the busy time to come and I will burn at least 2500 this week. It looks like spring has FINALLY sprung…
  • A group goal sounds good! Maybe when everybody gives their individual goal number we can add them all up and then add just a bit to that for some extra group incentive.
  • I enjoy working out at home with DVD's (I also have tons of VHS tapes from back in the day), so I bought myself a new set of workouts to motivate me to burn lots of calories in May!
  • I'll help you! :-)
  • Night shifter here! I always just bring my own food to work with me, it's way too easy to over eat on the junk that is available to buy in the middle of the night. For me, the problem with the night shift is the general fatigue and just not ever really feeling "good". I am making a super extra effort to take care of my…
  • The only thing that would matter would be if you couldn't choose your sex in the settings. I have a "woman" model (Polar that I have had for years) and I can set the sex. Probably just a band thing. I would say rock that pink band!
  • Hello Everyone! My name is April. I'm 44 years old, I have four kids and one grandbaby and I'm a night shift nurse. I'm looking forward to this challenge to keep me on track! I pulled out my calculator to figure out how many calories I want to commit to burning in May...I am thinking 8000 should be a good number but I…
  • I am a fitness DVD (also have lots of video tapes from back in the day) addict! My two all time favorite instructors are Cathe Friedrich and Christi Taylor. I also enjoy having YouTube workouts available too. Fitness Blender is my favorite there.
  • I'd like to join! Not promising 16,000 though. :-) I only count sweaty workout calories burned with my hrm, no cleaning or food prep stuff. I also don't count weight workouts but maybe I will rethink that plan for May to try to keep up with you all!
  • How fun!! Happy Anniversary!
  • You look great! Congratulations!
  • Wow! You look great...congratulations!
  • Great job! Amazing progress!!
  • Great job! I would want that 75 too, but you are a success no matter what!
