Hi everyone, I am just checking after a LONG day at work. It has been a really good week calorie and exercise wise, but at work, I feel like I've been spinning my wheels - so gotta fix that. I will be weighing in tomorrow, so I look forward to a good weight loss! Loula, that is a great dance tune, isn't it! Blaze and…

Thanks for clearing that up! I was wonderin' too!

Toni, LI4G made me think of one more thing - eat the bulk of your carbs in the morning. Dinner should be veggies (yes, they are carbs, but not like grains) and protein.
-
Chanty, good to see you! I thought of you a breakfast this morning! I made a burrito out of a rosemary tortilla from La Tortilla Factory (lots of fiber!) I used an egg and a white, a cup of spinach, an artichoke heart, a couple of cherry tomatoes, and a little cheese. Instead of meat, I used some raw lentils. Very yummy!…

Amanda glad you are back! I was ready to come looking for you. (And a few others, you know who you are! ) You can absolutely lose 40 lbs in six months. I started MFP on Februay 17 and weighed 461 lbs (had lost about 19 lbs over the previous 2 years of yo-yo dieting) Today I weigh 429, and am pretty sure I will…

Tyravis, welcome back! Wow, buddy, that sounds pretty scary! Are you home from work for a minute, or is it indefinite? For me, unfortunately, my job is the kind tha we have more busines during times of stress. :ohwell: People tend to turn to drugs and alcohol more ofen when the economy is bad, after a war, after a bad…

Just a thought, do you fuel before you get to th gym? What about eatng a pretty good snack before you go to the gym - something with some protein and maybe complex carbs. Or a good quality bar of some kind, or some peanutbutter on wheat bread... It sounds like your workout is pretty well draining you. If you can't eat…

Just how big were those chunks of chicken? By the way - LI4G - way to go! You look marvelous! Hi everyone, just checking in to say good night!

All of it right next to a big jucy grilled steak. Or ribs. Or chops. Or chicken. Ummmmm....... Just had a garlic burger for lunch! no bun, no mayo, no ketchup. Use lettuce like a bun, put radish and sprouts and a couple of cherry tomatoes on top with some 0 cal mustard. Ummmmm....... Whew, now, I better go brush my teeth!…

Good job! I really enjoyed "the Protein Power Lifeplan" they explain the science behind the carb controlled way of eating as a corrective diet for a variety of health problems as well as a way to lose weight.

Morning peeps! How is everyone? I was just reflecting that I could really get used to this healthy eating thing! Its so nice when stuff is in season. This morning for breakfast, I had 1/2 cup cottage cheese and about 3/4 cup of sliced strawberries. It was so good! I the past, I would have loaded it with sugar.…

Here is an interesting comment on the origins of "harsh my mellow" sent to me by cmriverside. The source is World WIde Words: [Q] From Pierre Garon, Canada: I read in the newspaper the following sentence: ‘And if that is not enough to harsh his mellow, his pal wades in about making the rent and getting his act together’. I…

Perhaps, MIr, if you sit very still, you can channel Dave! Do you feel the desire for a big rare steak? Or do you want to tell someone to get in the kitchen and start cooking or cleaning? Chop chop?

If that doesn't work, I am pretty sure I have enough butt for both of us and would be happy to share!

Once again I am sitting here with my glass of choco milk. Reading your post. Good compromise. Here is what I think of your BIG cow. I do not fear your cow at all!

Just when I thought it was safe to go out in the pasture....... :noway:

4sure, welcome back! Its good to see you! I can't wait until you post to see your weight loss! I so appreciate your post for two reasons (1) I realized that i used to do those same things, when you said walking through the airport and stopping to buy a mag. Morning gang! I am sitting here waiting for the appliance repair guy to show up, cuz my dryer just quietly stopped running yesterday. My washer has been hopping around the room for a while, so it likely needds new bearings. :grumble: :grumble: I feel like I can't start my workout, cuz he is bound to interrupt it. :grumble:…

I've been snacking on raw lentils lately. Just rehydrate them and munch. They taste a little like raw peas, which I love. 96 cals an ounce. 16 carbs, but 9 grams of fiber, so effective carb count is actually 7. Also, 8 grams of protein, so nice source of protein. And, it really helps get your daily fiber! Here are…

For me, its about changing my eating, and my lifetsyle, not about a diet. I can't do diets. I get discouraged because I have so much weight to lose. So, I just concentrate on being healthier. Also, I treat MFP like an alcoholic treats AA. Here is were I come to be accountable. I do it every day. Good luck!

Stress can really kick your butt. How about meditation, or yoga? Or, what if you kind of start a little ritual with herb tea and a good book, or a walk around the neighborhood, in the park, or whatever? Have a plan and be mindful. Know in advance what stress feels like. Sounds silly, but part of the problem is you are at…

Good job. Stick with it this time, and you 'll be happy. You sound resolved! Good luck. Check out some of the motivational threads for support and help.

Hi gang, Its late and I'm beat, so I am just checking in before heading to bed. Southernbelle - hey, that elliptical will get easier! One of my friends, adopt4 on the THE Team thread started about two months ago doing elliptical and could only do about 7 minnutes. She now regularly does 30 minutes, 40 mintues, etc. You can…

Welcome tonijrn! This is a great team. Lots of motivation and support. And, the occasional kick in the butt by lulu, but she wears her padded slippers, so it hurts her more than it does you! Well, I am reporting my exercising and then toddling off to bed. 45 minutes strength training. (All are three sets of 10…

Holy Dougnuts! I've only been gone a few hours! Sounds like the dust is settling. MIke, like the others, thanks for the site. It is a critical part of my weight loss program. I can never tell you (all) how much you help me. Thanks. "Harsh our mellow." I don't know exactly what it means, but I like it! Dave, if you are…

Since we are reporting breakfast, I had a spinach, artichoke omelette with just under a quarter ounce of parmesan cheese. It was wonderful! I am still happy about it! And, LL, I know I could have two eggs rather than an egg and a white, I prefer the lighter omelette I get with that combo. I save the calories, and…
