  • okay - I love peanut butter on celery or just off the spoon - PB2? Lots of recommendations regarding content and calories - anyone want to say anything about taste?
  • I have it (in moderation) then I try to take a walk ! Deprivation can be the worst enemy. I always have things available for cravings: When I really want pizza - a tortilla, with sauce, cheese, and some veggies becomes my pizza. when I need chocolate - I keep mini candy bars in fridge - I take one out, let it come to room…
  • focus on your REAL friends. I had some of my friends who don't need to lose weight join so they could watch my progress and be encouraging. They are the REAL friends. Maybe even family too.
  • The only thing that looks a little out of whack is your sodium intake, but I'm a novice at this so take that with a "grain of salt".
  • I get Oscar Meyer - pre-cook - just nuke and get really nice crispy bacon. You can take out just a few pieces and store the remaining.
  • Good luck to all you newbiesone trick that has worked for me - just taking time each day to read many of the posts. So many good ideas, inspiring stories and tricks to work off the weight. Heading into the great weather now, so I hope easier to focus. Add me as a friend if you like. I'm always looking for help myself.
  • 1 - these rules are for the "majority" of people - everyone is different. The 7:30 thing is based on heading to bed at about 10 and no activity until early morning. Take the rules with a grain of salt and apply what works for you.
  • Yum - I LOVE Chipolte (did I spell that right?) - I budget for it and go - if you deprive yourself you might do more damage than good.
  • Some basics I keep handy: Salmon patties from Costco, Whole Wheat pasta with a NO SUGAR tomato sauce and frozen meat balls, shrimp (always on hand) - veggies - easy to fix and very filling, Pita bread - sauce and low fat cheese - you have pizza.
  • WOW - I can only imagine what your going through - but you did the right thing. If they are meant to be together, they will. How can you support someone you barely know? Your son will come around - you ARE is mother and he does love you. Hang in there.
  • First - weigh yourself on schedule - do not break the pattern. See how much impact this type of eating has. Keep in mind - we've all been there, done that. (me - more than once). Get back on track tomorrow and think about how to work in a "free day".
  • I'd be happy to be your friend. I've asked several people to "friend" me to offer help. Look for "waferzdog"
  • I make pizza's with tortillas versus the heavy regular pizza dough - use part skill cheese and lots of healthy toppings. You can also find Pizza sause without sugar - read the labels. Lasagna - I also love - here for me it is portion control - take a square on your plate, then fill the rest of the plate with lots of…
  • Week ends are hard for me - so I try to stay a little under during the week - I also do NOT abstain from any food. I keep some Hershey kisses available if I want a little chocolate. I try to go for heathier options - like for snacking - stick pretzels - can each quite a few (munch) for pretty low calories. I have also…
  • I can wait to see what you get as responses. I'm in the same boat.
  • It's amazing what logging you eating can do - really open your eyes. I know it did mine - now I read every package and am quite shocked by the number of calories. Next time you need to binge, you can refer to your log and maybe find some good stuff that you can eat alot of and still enjoy. Good Luck.
  • If you put your excise in the website it adds calories back in. Not sure if it does it at a 1:1 ratio. I really think it's about where you are at with your weight loss. I work out to burn extra calories - sometimes just to burn calories, sometimes so I can eat a little more if I'm going out. I try not to eat all calories…
  • I too am a Christian, but we don't give up for lent. If I did, I would probably try to give up that little chocolate bar I have on occassion to reward myself. It 100 calories I don't need.
  • I've tried them all - hypnosis, diets, weight watchers, etc. Counting calories for me has so far worked the best. I am learning about foods, and making better choices. I love to eat, so I pay attention to calories and I am so surprised what I am finding. I don't really want to exercise at home (alone), so I walk at lunch.…
  • GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU !!!
  • I love the idea of bringing "The" pancake mix. Helps out the hostess and you know exactly what your eating. I haven't done pancakes since signing up, but I would venture to guess that the toppings might be more of an issue (butter, syrup, sugar, fruit, etc). Personnally I'm a pizza person and have learned what to do to…
  • I just finished as article based on a test ran of 600 participants all on different diets. No matter what diet, weight loss really came down to staying within calorie limit. I see others have posted additional inputs: retaining water is a biggy, especially for women. Also being on cycle might cause bloating. Finally, if…
  • One of my issues is having too much food in the house. Even left overs are tempting. For me, cooking ahead is a really bad idea. I have no control of my evening eating.
  • So many options - I have ADD so I get bored really fast. Check out some of the frozen meals (lots of sodium) - many at just 300 calories. I suppliment dinners with LOTS of vegies - filling, healthy and very low calories - Vegies with most any type of meat. I've also tried several recipes from Rachel Rays site - the key in…

  • I joined just over 2 weeks ago and am down 8 lbs already. I am really trying to stick to the calorie count (1420 - LOW !) and I try to walk everyday. Good Luck
  • Check out an on-line book store for a really check DVD or video - get the kids involved to do it with you. Even a kids exercise video will help you. My grandaughter loves to work out with me (when I do it) - she also LOVES WII games and some of the WII workouts are already in myfitnesspal with calories. Good Luck.
  • Congratulations - you've taken the first BIG step. I've been tracking for 2 weeks and have hit the hard part. We all need encouragement so keep going and good luck.
