I suggest eating something before you run. I bike now, but used to marathon, so I know your ordeal. Sometimes, a bite to eat prior to exercise helps. My two cents.

Sorry, misread. You're still doing a great job on losing, just not to 51 yet. You'll get there!

Yep, it's right. That's why I try to consult MFP before getting something like a muffin. But, to be honest, after losing 51 pounds like it says you have, one transgression isn't going to hurt.

I bike exclusively for exercise. It allows me to eat more! Oh, I went from 219 to 185 in about five months.

Cycling. It burns calories like crazy, I get to see the countryside, and it allows me to eat more than I would normally. Win-win.

If you're a student, then certainly the health center at your college would have one.

Also, I've found that rubs are better than sauces, as sauces have sugar, which can add calories. I imagine that rubs have some sugar as well, in addition to salt, but if you make your own you can control that. I suggest going onto the food database so you can see various wing data and then figure out how many and of what…

Yep, don't worry about it. You'll be fine. You can walk some of it off, or go for a bike ride. I found that's it's tough at the beginning, trying to stay on course, but after awhile, it's fine and you'll get into the routine. Relax.

My motivation to lose the weight was to be able to climb up hills on my bike more easily. I'm an avid biker and wanted to see what the effect would be. It's easier now to climb steep hills with 25-26 pounds off that before. It's 26 less pounds that has to be pedaled every stroke. I'm glad I did it.

Don't know about Masi, but I own two Treks. I'm happy with both. Probably as important as the bike is the bike shop. Make sure they're good. Mine gives 6 months worth of free small tune-ups with my newer Trek. Check out the components and make sure they're good. Happy riding!

Don't sweat it. Don't try to make it up, go back to what you were doing before. Actually, it was probably good for your mental health. Plan to do it again in a month or three weeks. Give yourself something to look forward.

It's more what I don't miss. I don't miss overeating any more. That used to be a somewhat normal thing. I bike, so what I don't miss is the struggle of climbing hills. Now, I race up them. I don't miss my stomach.

If almost-55 (this summer) counts, my wife has lost about 15-20 using MFP. Stick with it and it'll work for you. You'll struggle a little bit at first figuring out what works (veggies- lots of them) and when to eat. Once you figure out what'll work for you, trust the program. Get in exercise and it'll drop off by about a…

Cycling is all I do. In the past I've run, skied, lifted weights, and so forth. I like biking because it allows me to see a lot of scenery. I bike about 200-400 miles/week, depending on the weather. I love the fact that it allows me to eat more than the 1960 calories I'm allotted per day without the biking. I've lost 18…

How about exercise with a friend? Find what you like and see if someone else around likes to do the same thing. How about not thinking of it as exercise, but part of what you do, like instead of driving to the store, walk there for your shopping. My wife and I walk to go out to dinner a lot. It's about 1.5 miles to where…

What works for you depends on you. I suggest trying both and see what works. Or, alternate with the two. I have yogurt every morning and that seems to do it for me. I will say that exercise is what really helps me. I love to eat, so getting points for my biking allows me to eat more. When I first started, it took a couple…

I've ridden a bike for over 20 years, doing both short and extremely high mileage rides. My legs are in good shape, but I wouldn't come close to saying they're "bulky". If you're concerned about that, start with leisurely rides and see how it works for you. Cycling is my main source of exercise and it's helped me lose…

How long hasn't it budged? If not for a few days,or a week, be patient, it will come. This program works. I'll tell you that about once a week, or every other week, I'll throw in an "I don't care about MFP" day and eat what I want, damn the calories. It tricks the body into increasing the metabolism. Next day, I'm back on…

Great job! I think people are hesitant to comment due to a number of reasons, but once someone breaks the ice, more will follow. Keep at it. Your weight loss will pay big dividends for years to come! Kudos.

If that's how you deep on track the rest of the week, go for it. Seeing that you've lost weight using this method so far seems reasonable. I do the same thing. It gives me something to look forward to.
