When I was at my heaviest my knees used to swell just from standing. At the time I was in college working on my first degree and working at Wendy's (of all places). My knees got so big one night that I went to the ER. They said I had arthitis (sp?) in my knees. After I dropped 60 lbs from that point, I never had another…

I know EXACTLY what you mean about skipping just one day of workouts! Sometimes I get in these moods where I just do not want to do this anymore. I don't feel like logging calories, and I certainly don't feel like working out. But then I check this thread and chat with some people on other community threads, and I realize…

I love food, too. And it's totally hard to try to control your eating habits when you find yourself eating with others. You know, it's scientifically proven that people eat more when they are eating with others. So here's what I did to start...I told people I was limiting my food intake and counting calories. Everyone has…

This site has been an amazing help to me. I've never been able to stick to anything before. This site and the people make it easy! Welcome :-) Feel free to add me.

I've heard about Turbo Jam. I'm looking forward to trying that as soon as I finish the 30 Day Shred.

I log it as general circuit training. I think mine says 201 calories burned in 20 minutes. D7 L2 completed!! I can't believe L2 is almost done. Where is everyone else? It's getting quiet on this thread. I hope you're all still hanging in. We can do this!

I know what you mean! Yesterday I just felt great. Wish the scale would move a little more though ;-)

I just have to keep telling myself that I am feeling better. I have seen some results and feel better in some of my clothes. It's a slow process, right? I neglected my body for a whole year. I can't expect changes over night... D6 L2 completed. Four more until L3...*gulp*

I've lost track of what day I'm on, but I'm on level 2. **Day Five** Whoever said L1 was just a warm up for L2 was absolutely right! L2 is kicking my butt! I'm tired of Jillian, too, especially her laugh. But I want to keep this up. Nothing is going to stop me this time from completing this damn workout! lol After this…

You can do this! After I joined MFP, I started doing the 30 Day Shred for the fourth or fifth time. I had never been able to stick to it before but now I'm the farthest I've ever gone with it and actually seeing results. I participate in a 30 Day Shred thread under my community. I don't have someone to be here to do it…

I have only lost about 2 lbs since starting MFP, but I have to tell you the psychological benefits are great. By just sticking to a committment I made keeps my mind positive. Before I started exercising, I had crazy mood swings. Everyday I'd feel bad about myself; my weight was at the forefront of my mind. Now I'm feeling…

I'm upset. I haven't done one minute of exercise today, and to top it all off, I have no idea how many calories I consumed :-( I planned to shred tonight after we got back from my family reunion, but then my husband's friend was visiting town on leave from the military and we had to entertain him. He's still here, and now…

It's natural to be stressed out around this time in your life when you're planning a wedding. All those emotions can seem overwhelming, but just remember that all of those people became a part of you in the way they affected you throughout your time with them. Because of that, they will never be too far away! Congrats on…

I don't know anything about UK sizes, but I'm 5'4", and when I weighed 137 lbs I was in a size 6-8 (US). Hope that helps a little.

L2 D3 completed! **Sim247** I had a sleepless night, too. And like sngnyrslp, I was planning to get up earlier than usual so that I could get it done at the beginning of my day. It so didn't happen. I ended up waiting until after dinner to get it in. It took everything in me to actually get to it, too. But today felt a lot…

D2 L2 completed, and it was still hard! I'm still needing some breaks. All that plank work is killing me. My arms did feel a little sore today, so that means it's working! I just gotta keep telling myself that I can do this. I'm worth this! Keep it up!

Day 1 L2 today! It was hard!! lol I agree with everyone on the planks. I've never had much upper body strength, so this is a challenge. I'm so happy that it's tough again, though, because I was getting bored with L1. On another note, I think my hands are getting stronger. I gave my husband a massage the other day and he…

Completed Day 9 for me, and I think I'm ready to move on. I'm not winded anymore during the cardio, and the strength isn't as hard either. I did take it easy yesterday because my knees were starting to hurt, but I took 900 mg of fish oil before my workout today and noticed a big difference. I think I'm going to start L2…

This is a good idea. You shouldn't move on until it's no longer difficult for you. I know that the last time I tried to do the shred I did a sneak peak at L2, and I must say that I'm afraid to move on in a few days. I did day 8 today (I accidentally typed day 8 for yesterday, but I am a day behind). I wasn't going to do it…

I got day 8 down this morning. Haven't been sore since day two, and I'm liking it. Today, however, I noticed that the back of my left knee is hurting. It wasn't hurting when I did my workout this morning; it kinda started while I was at work. Tomorrow is my -2 lbs goal. It was the first goal I set when I started MFP, but…

Day 6 down for me. I wasn't losing any weight. Actually, yesterday my scale said that I gained two pounds. But I think it was all water. I started to incorporate pilates into my workout. I drank a TON of water yesterday and was way unter my calorie intake. Today I lost that 2 pounds but I'm only .4 pounds lighter from…

Thank you for all the support! I'm feeling a little better. I had a talk with my husband about our eating habbits and said they've got to change a bit more. Then I went to the grocery store and bought healthy foods (fruits and vegetables) to plan out my meals for the week so that I'm not stuck with a last minute bad…

I feel bad that I skipped my workout yesterday. I totally had my alarm set an hour earlier so that I could get the shred in before work, but I ended up waking in the middle of the night and not getting back to sleep until three hours later :-( So I reset my alarm for the usual wakeup time. I didn't get a workout in at all…

I agree. 20-25 pounds does sound more realistic. Remember, it's about gradual loss and a more permanent change in lifestyle. My goal is to lose 20 pounds by Dec. 4. Add me as a friend, and we'll do it together!

The first time I tried this program (two years ago) I remember not feeling anything in my abs either. For whatever reason this time around I am but it's only my lower abs I feel.

Well I pushed myself to do day three, and I'm glad I did. Anyone else notice that the girl on the left in the red shorts actually takes a break when she thinks the camera isn't on her. It's during the first set of static lunges and bicep curls. She just does the curls. I could be mistaken, but I'm definitely going to look…

I could barely move yesterday after doing the shred for two days straight. It was miserable. I have to go to work tonight, so I'm afraid to do it today. I don't want to feel like I did yesterday. I'm still sore today... Who plans to do this every day? How is that even possible? Don't muscles need time to recuperate? Sorry…

Next time you have a party, encourage your guests to take food home. In the meantime, try to resist or get rid of it. I'm the kind of person who has to keep food like that out of my house or I'll give in to it. Lucky for me, my husband tends to get to the leftovers before too long :-)

Going in to day 2 today, and I'm SO SORE! Anyone else? How am I supposed to do this? lol I need a push...

Also try Truvia. I don't use it a lot, but I like it on my strawberries and anything else I would normally put sugar on. I heard about it by watching The Biggest Loser.
