Thank you for this this, and well done!

Hi everyone! It's been a long time since I'm been on the message boards, but I've recently gotten back into a workout routine with Jillian. I'm not sure about what the abbreviations mean, except for 30DS. I had great success with the 30DS about five years ago, and right now I'm alternating between 30DS, Body Revolution…

Haven't tried it, but I will definitely be looking into it!

It certainly is tough. I've only been at this since last July (7 months) and I struggle with it. Especially lately since I've hit a major plateu and haven't been able to get all the workouts in that I want because I'm a full-time student on top of being a wife and trying to have our first baby. I know that I have the "fat…

For a moderately active woman, take your current weight and multiply by 13. That is how many calories you need to maintain your current weight. To lose, shave off a couple hundred.

Congrats on getting started. Sometimes that can be the hardest step. This site is full of such great people. You're sure to meet your goals if you stick to it!

Zumba's great. Loads of fun! Try to rope in a friend, too. It will make it more fun and less intimidating when you're learning the routines with someone you know!

Polar FT7. I think I spent $80 on it. It's the best purchase I could have made!

Yay! I felt like I was reading an ad for a weight loss supplement, except this time I wasn't thinking, "yeah right, that person wasn't real." It's great to hear REAL people's success stories! Thanks for the motivation! And congrats!

Hello, everyone! I just found this board today and was totally excited. One of my primary reasons for dropping some pounds was because my husband and I are going to start TTC this year! I started trying to lose weight starting in July and have been pretty successful. I still have some pounds to go. I want my BMI to say…

How funny that I have the SAME problem. We also have a local authentic Mexican restaurant that I've been avoiding because I can't count calories there, and my husband loves the place and is missing it terribly. I'll be interested to see what others will have to say.

It really is all about planning, and that can be the hard part. I don't have a huge family yet (it's just my husband and me for now) but planning meals around our schedules and eating the right kinds of foods can be tricky. Thankfully, my husband will eat anything I make, and he loves whole grains and vegetables. I juse…

Welcome, and congrats for breaking the silence! I have been a member of many community message boards, but this site has the friendliest group of people I have ever met online. Like previos poster said, we're all in this together. So don't hesitate to speak up! And never be afraid to ask any questions. There's tons of…

Hello! And congrats on the upcoming wedding! I remember when I was trying to lose weight for my wedding almost two years ago. It was hard, but it sure was motivating! However, after my wedding I quickly put on 20 more pounds. That's what brought me here. It's more about setting one long-term goal; it's really about…

Sperm whale's brain. Who knew I was even carrying that thing around ;-)

How many days do you workout? Maybe try setting a new goal for that. If you do three days a week now, try to aim for four or five. One month, I challenged myself to workout every day. I did the 30 Day Shred that month EVERY DAY and lost my first seven pounds that way. It was a great motivator to keep me going.
-
That's a lot to deal with! But you're already on your way to meeting your goals. You'll find a lot of helpful people here.

I had that problem, too, at first. But it got easier when I set a goal for myself that I would do most of my eating at home (instead of going out all the time) so that made being near the computer easier. When I do go out to eat, I plan in advance what I'll get (there are all kinds of nutritional facts online for my…

Ok, I need to get on the wagon with this challenge! I've been looking at other posts and have seen some daily challeneges. Are there any going on today? I need to increase my water intake, for sure. Today I plan to get at least my 8 cups of water (I've been drinking only 6 lately) and do 45 minutes of exercise (20 minutes…

ug, I forgot to log in the first day! But I'm up to speed now. Did 60 minutes of Zumba today and maintaining my calorie goal! Need more water though...
-
I used to put it as Dance..aerobic, but I've since bought a HRM. I highly reccomend it because MFP isn't always accurate with calorie burn, so I've learned.

Ok, I'm in! I need something to pull me out of my slump. I'll post my starting weight beginning the day after Christmas. Let's do this!
-
I'd like to know, also. Except that I'm getting mine for xbox 360 with Kinnect. It's a Christmas present (from myself). Let me know if anyone has any experience!
-
I'm feeling the Christmas pressure as well. It doesn't help that i just spent the last two days baking cookies for all of our friends and family. Those cookies that are not packaged as gifts are in there taunting me...And what's worse is that I haven't worked out since Thursday. I've been feeling awful about it, but I just…

Welcome! I think everyone on here wil agree that they love it. It's helped me change my lifestyle. I've never been able to stick to anything before I found this site. Everyone is so helpful and nice. Feel free to ask anything. Add me if you'd like!

Before I got my HRM I logged it as dance/aerobic and it underestimated what I was burning. I'm 5'4, 148 lbs and I burn between 550-650 calories for 50 minutes in class Zumba.

You'll love it! I had the DVD for over a year before I actually committed to it. I would do it off and on here and there but I never got serious until August of this year. I did it every day for the entire month of August and lost my first 7 lbs that way. Now I put it in when I want to change up my workout routine. I love…

I agree completely; she's fantastic and so are her workouts! Go Jillian!!

I can't imagine what you're going through, and I feel very sorry for your recent trials. However, it's times like these when we need to pick ourselves up. Your son needs all the positive energy he can get right now. You have this amazing opportunity to be an inspiration to him. He's going to be going through physical…

Great post! Congratulations! You must be an amazing inspiration to those around you. Keep up the good work! I know I don't know you, but it seems you've made the committment to a healthier life, and it's something that will stick with you forever! Congrats again!
