Thanks for the update and congrats! I'm curious how you'll increase your fiber.

Hey Rosy, here is a link to Mark's Daily Apple, where he discusses green peas and green beans. I think this is just the info you're looking for. I would go ahead and keep serving them, especially if they're a family favorite. http://www.marksdailyapple.com/are-peas-and-green-beans-healthy/#axzz1sha3ugVv

I drink about 12 oz of coffee with a heavy dose of half and half every morning. I just quit drinking it sweet when I went primal and that's working out fine. I don't want to give up coffee. Please, don't make me...I need it. It's practically my only vice left! :brokenheart: My only other regular beverages are 2 cups of…

Mike, your transformation is amazing! Your pics are great (even your heaviest "most embarrassing" is pretty cute!) I think it's time to go clothes shopping. I agree, quitting grains and sugar has been a lot easier than I would have thought. (Except don't ask me about today, Easter Sunday's fabulous brunch buffet complete…

Mike, if you post your pics here first, maybe you'll gain enough confidence from your supportive mfp friends to post them elsewhere.

I made Apple and Apricot Pork Chops in the crock pot on Sunday using a recipe from Paleo Comfort Foods. It was to die for! Leftovers were great, too.

Oh, hooray! Hooray for you, Mike! I can relate to your story, so you're a true inspiration. All I can say is: WET TSHIRT CONTEST!

I'm new, too, Elemental. I'll send you a request.

My rinky dink library has no Paleo cookbooks. I did get a "clean eating" one, but most of the recipes have grains and/or sweeteners. The only recipe I saw in it was for an omelet with lots of veggies, but I don't need a recipe for that. I also checked out a "no-grain diet" book for the recipes...meh. I haven't looked at…

" I calculated my protein based off of 1g-1.5g protein/1 lb of lean body mass." You might know this (but I didn't), I checked an online LBM calculator, as I had no clue and guessed way higher than I could possibly eat in protein. :embarassed:

Think before you speak (or type, as the case may be.) You don't have to express every thought that comes into your head.

Thanks guys. I was searching on MDA forums, thought I had seen something there, but I'm having trouble viewing posts I want to read and it was taking too long scrolling through. That's why I thought I'd ask here. (How do you do the quote replies correctly?)

While we're talking about carb flu, is achy-ness in the hips a symptom? I'm a week in and this started about 4 days ago. I wouldn't attribute it exercise or "female" stuff. Ibuprofen helps.

I think it's time for the insult "knucklehead" to make a comeback.

I think I could handle the crunch of a bug, but not the goo.

I like that "grab light bulbs for the garage". LOL. Wait a minute...are light bulbs paleo??

Thanks for responding, Laura. I look forward to your updates. Thanks for those links, Rebecca. Those could be helpful. I hear what you’re saying, MonkeyDharma. (And I already bought a Paleo cookbook!) I guess what I was hoping for, at least as I start this journey, was someone to say: have this for breakfast, that for…

I call MFP "My Face Pal". If you're puking rainbows, you may want to see a bulimia therapist. I believe in the power of positivity, but this is a diverse world we live in and it's good to practice getting along different types. Add me if you want. If we don't hit it off, there's always the option to delete.

You're an inspiration to many, Ms Soccermom! Good luck on your 5K run next week. It will be a breeze for you!
