I DO have fuzzy pink socks. Love my comfy cozies! Hungover? nope, but maybe tomorrow.. depends on how good the vino is tasting tonight... TPBM- Secretly thinks they could be competitive in the Olympics if they only had the backing ($)

So... today I did the butt bridge. I just got back from a week at home of building bridges, and being nice. It's more exhausting than a workout!

I like Chobani Greek Yogurt with fresh fruit added.

On another thread I heard a great analogy! Consider taking a driving trip to the Grand Canyon. It is so exciting! To get there, you have to plan for fuel and make sure your car is well maintained. However, once you have your gas and maintenance (nutritious food and exercise), you focus on the trip to the Grand Canyon. The…

That is the timing for week 1! Way to go! Doesn't the Color Run look fun!

Bad news today. According to my MRI and Orthopedist I can't run. I only have a little cartlidge left and I have to protect it. I will not be able to become a runner. I waited too long. :brokenheart:

The nice thing about C25K is that they plan to get you there injury free with the intervals and gradual increases. However, PLEASE don't forget to warm-up and cool down. I have to warm my left knee up. I am also dedicated to taking longer on each week if I need to. I want to be a runner! It will take as long as it takes.…

I like doing C25K on a treadmill and I am running it flat. I guess if I needed more of a challenge I would add hills. If you can handle it, I think hills are a great thing to add.

You did it!! That's great! Hopefully Wednesday will be even easier! I am going to Zumba tomorrow I think. :drinker:

Day 1 down. It went very well, it looks like it did for others as well. Wednesday will be good too. I am so excited and thankful for all of the positive people participating in the program. Yay us!

Sounds like a winner!!
-
Great job! I walk, take Zumba, water aerobics or put in a biggest loser tape.

It's so exciting to have so many people doing this! WOO-HOO!! If there was a fist pump smiley, I would insert it here!

They have a color run here in August, that I am thinking of doing. I won't be able to run the whole thing, so that is kind of holding me back, but it looks fun!

Welcome ladies! The more the merrier.

I used to weigh 235, I think that's why my knees are so tender now. Congratulations J on putting importance on yourself and your health! :flowerforyou: I am going to look up Elations, I have never heard of that. I take prescription anti-inflammatory for my knees, but worry about the side effects. I went off it and had a…

Best point Anna! Than you. I would like to add that I am wary of super fit people as well... let's face it some Sunday mornings I would rather read posts and sip coffee then going on an adventure.

J, I think that sounds great! I am worried about holding you back, but I guess we can work that out if it happens. I think it's easier on the treadmill too because of the timer. Treadmills also have good cushion which is good for my knees. An hour a visit is great! I should try that. while I'm there I might as well…

Found it: Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes. J, do you walk afterwards to make it an hour? Do you walk on a treadmill?

How about Monday? Moving at a slower pace sounds great to me! I have to search around and find the program recommended times again.

Hi! I also started out, but wasn't able to finish. I would love to do it with you. Unfortunately, I have a sore knee which really affects my ability to keep with the plan. I have been doing lots of brisk walking which strengthens my knee, so hopefully I can be more successful this time. When are you starting?

After reading this I must try Honeycrisp. (Have never seen Kiku available). All the others I have tried and they come in behind my favorite stand by... Red Delicious! I have at least one a day!

HI Lynne, I am starting again on trying the Cto5K. I also have arthritis in my knees. I wear wraps to keep them warm while I am exercising and it helps. So ironic that exercise will strengthen surrounding muscles and help relieve my arthritis, but too much will make them hurt and makes it hard to exercise. I hope that you…

Hi Lostemet! I started out here, got swamped at work, and let it derail my plan. I am starting again though.I hope that things are going well for you. I could definitely use another beginner to do this with.

I do! UGH!

Conda's gotta go along with her little minion (who I used to think was OK)! My new favs are aqua! I feel so bad for them, all excited to come into this hostility...

Dancingcirc, sorry to hear about your knee. I have a bad knee and got a tip from the forum. I run carefully like I am jogging on ice with shorter slightly choppy strides, rather than longer strides. If I forgot and stride longer, I felt it in my knee. I also wear an Ace bandage on my knee. I hope it feels better soon!

Thanks everyone for sharing. I am encouraged. After an awesome week and feeling good, I am up 2 lbs. I was shocked! I see there are a few different possibilities, and although I don't know which one is effecting me, I will stick with what I am doing.... for a couple more weeks. If I am still having a stall, or worse…

I feel good too! I am very excited to start next week. Congratulations on the tightening! That is huge. None of us want to lose weight and turn into jellyfish!

Day 3, done! Monday starts Week 2. I upped my speed a little 3.2/5.0 and my workout felt great, but my knee is a little tender. For the increased time on Monday I am going to go back to 3.0/4.5. I feel great! I hope everyone else is finding success too! :flowerforyou:
