My last text is literally "*kitten*" where #=u

Probably. I honestly never warm up at all before a race. I should definitely look into it, though I have no idea how much, or at what pace, I should do it.
-
Tagging along too. Pacing my next 5K is going to be a nightmare, as I'd like to hit ~20mins. I don't start out at sub 7:00s very well, takes a good mile or two to loosen up. Obviously I've gotta do more speed work.

If I recall correctly, I believe they have "pizza night" monthly. I'll pass.
-
Sure I'll hit you up. Anyone feel free, it's "PeteWhoLikesToRunAlot"

^^^^ That's swimming thing just plain crazy right there!

been able to say "oh well" and let something go that pisses me off.

Totally nude guy, including bare feet, walking into a stall with only a newspaper under his arm. *shudder*
-
I've also seen birds mysteriously faceplant into the ground right before me. I guess they must have been doing speed work.

"But the reasons why remain unclear." Solid study.

On the way. Anyone else hit me up too: https://www.fitbit.com/user/23DRNK

In order of importance: 1) BQ of 3:25 in Baystate Marathon (10/19/2014) 2) Sub-20:00 5K 3) 2400 miles. I fell behind the pace (200M/month) in March due to travel & illness

That I used to deal with rather significant self esteem issues, despite my smashing good looks :)

I'm a big fan of the "0.0", almost bought one at the Hartford Marathon expo. "DNF" is pretty good too. Carson, get a "named.conf" and I'll be impressed.

My first "real" run back in Feb 2010 was 1 mile on a treadmill in ~14 minutes and i vomited. Lugging around ~50 extra lbs didn't help. It gets better. In retrospect, I wish I had done C25K as many others have mentioned.

All commando, all the time here. Sorry, too much info, but it's not often you see a thread titled "No Underwear". I was compelled to respond.
-
It's exhausting, isn't it? I'm ready to hire a security crew for my upcoming events this year.
-
Stymied at the responses here. I absolutely loathe my greys in the beard. I have them up top too, but being blonde helps hide them. I'd never dye hair or beard, I just keep clean shaven as much as possible.

I'm about 10 people late on this, but echoing the others, distance first. Some speed will come out of that work. After you've built a solid base, tempo runs and intervals.

I dont think it's helped with weight loss - I lost the vast majority of it prior to having a fitbit. That said, it works well as a reminder to get up off one's @ss and move. I have my One set for hourly alarms through most of the day so I get up from my desk job and get in a quick half-mile-ish brisk walk around my…

Yikes. Surprised they didn't ask for a urine, blood and stool sample.
-
Are you comfortable staying at your current mileage? Sonic has it right - I'd say stay where you are. Or if you want to add speed work, go for it and maybe back down a bit, or at least make some of your runs easier.
-
"How can you like running?" "What are you running from?" facepalm

I love seeing these stories. Well done.

First of all - your screen name is the best name ever. I concur 100%. I tend towards being an introvert. As such, I'd much rather go out for a decent hour-plus run than do many other things. Unless I'm very comfortable with someone, I almost find any social scene tiring, I tend to worry far too much about what people think…
