  • It sounds like youre not getting all the nutrients you require. I dont mean to sound rude but i'd see a nutritionist/dietition to ensure that you are getting the foods and vitamins you require. If you are eating the right variety of foods and youre still getting sick - see a doctor because it probably means your body isnt…
  • You've acknowledged that MFP was helping and you're back. Thats all you need to do. No point beating yourself up over what WAS. Focus on the now and what you can do in the future :) All the best - you can do it!
  • Im 24, working fulltime and studying an MBA part-time. i completed my undergraduate degree fulltime whilst working 3 jobs so i understand how crazy things can get. Happy to expand my MFP friendbase - just send me a quick note to say hi :)
  • Great work! Any progress is good progress. Ive helped a few people 'learn to run' and the most important thing i can say is focus on your breathing. You know how to move your legs, your body can do what you want it to do but get enough air in/out to give yourself a chance. I breathe slow deep breaths whilst i run and it…
  • Cherry Blossom by the Body Shop - mostly because it isnt tested on animals but it also smells amazing!
  • IT Architect :)
  • I think only 40g of carbs is a bit silly. Why do you want to lower carbs? what sort of excersise do you do and is the 185g of protein for a particular reason or just to hit a % protein per kg ratio? Your body still needs carbs to function and that is VERY low. Thats not meant to sound mean/rude ect im just trying to…

  • Onion and mushroom brown rice risotto served inside a small (half) baked pumpkin with a side of cabbage and broccoli :) YUM!
  • A few of my cold lunch ideas: * Cold pasta dishes can be great; * Smooties/shakes; * Cous Cous and roast veggie salads or other non common salads (other than the lett, tomato, cucumber variety) are always a nice change too Buy a flask. You can still have warm lunches, chillis, stews, soups - heat before you leave home and…
  • I work fulltime (40+ hrs a week), study fulltime (at least 30 hrs a week), train in a team sport (6-8hrs a week) and i manage ok. In saying that i dont really watch TV and i dont need as much sleep (but if i took out my study i'd be sleeping 8hrs a night if i wanted). It really depends how much time you are willing to make…
  • On Beta blockers my resting heart rate was about 20bpm lower than off Beta Blockers. Target HR should be around 10-20 bpm lower than if you were off beta blockers. Have a chat to your doctor next time you are there though im not a doctor - just my observations whilst i was on beta blockers. Once difference i did notice on…
  • Alot of the studies ive read say 1.2-1.8g protein per Kg for muscle building and strength based athletes. More protein than this has been found to be non-benificial. Of course ive read other reports that suggest 'the more the better'.
  • For those of you that 'want to be' im happy to accept friend requests and chat to you. I have my diary viewable for friends and i eat healthy and fresh meals 95% of the time.

  • I did see this. Im sure there are better records you could aim for but as others have said - its her choice. I just hope she doesnt become a statistic but the odds are against her.
  • I have a few: * Mushrooms; * Eggplant (especially grilled); * Tomatos (because theyre a great base for sauces/curries/pastas ect); and * KALE! Im obsessed at the moment.
  • 2000-3000 a day. sometimes 1000 a meal just for my breaky wrap...
  • be careful with steiva - it can interfere with blood sugar levels and can cause low blood pressure. there are loads of articles on the net about it - plus other reported side effects!
  • i definately see the point youre making and it is indeed valid. whilst calories might be in control you have no idea what youre actually putting in. might as well go drink a can of paint - its probably better for you.
  • i just had a look at the facts on the website. they have all kinds of additives in them that our bodies dont process well at all. AND barely any nutritional content. why bother?
  • In my experience low fat, low calorie ect usually just mean 'full of artificial crap' or the serving size is micrograms and if you make any unit of measure small enough im sure it could be 0 calorie. If you want junk food, have it - BUT fit it within the nutritional guidelines and watch the calories. if you want to eat…
  • Depends on the distance. I run shorter runs (less than 5k) in my Vibram 5-finger shoes (mostly due to a prior ankle/knee injury) as i find them great to run in. I wear newbalance now but only because i got a great deal on a pair. I used to be and my next pair will be Asics. im sorry you didnt find them right for you. They…
  • I'm vegan and i have no problems eating a low cal - high protein diet. Feel free to add me if you like (especially for anyone interested in how plant based foods can meet and exceed your nutritional requirements).
  • Im also in Austraia, I use a product called Nitrofusion, its a multisourced protein (pea, artichoke and brown rice). I bought it because its high protein and low carb and calorie: 136cal, 25g protein and fairly low carb 5g per serve (4g sugar) I've tried the Chocolate and vanilla versions and i quite like it.
  • I quite like roasted chestnuts (if theyre in season), sandwiches, other nuts, spiced chickpeas, roasted (lightly salted) broadbeans, museli bars, soup in a thermos, crackers with mashed avocado (i mash it with salt/pepper and store it in a container before i leave), oats (store hot milk in a thermos or get hot water on a…
  • And no, i dont find it hard at all. I always thought i'd 'miss' meat and cheese in particular - but i feel amazing and dont miss those foods.
  • Hi - Im another vegan here. The biggest change i noticed when i went vegan was my skin complexion is much better. I always ate freshly prepared foods when i still ate meat and other animal procucts, but as an athlete i find eating vegan to be much more suitable. i eat several meals throughout the day and i vary the foods i…

  • I like to take trips away or buy clothing - i think theyre the best ways to motivate yourself. Or perhaps a shorter training session followed by a movie or something relaxing. Sometimes taking a few hours to just chill out allows us to refresh and keep training hard :)
  • One more here :)

  • i wasnt implying that peoples diets were good or bad. just wanted to provide some examples of hidden bad foods. I think by now most people would agree you can eat just about anything in moderation. I just know alot of people have perceptions that because something is from subway its good for you (for example).
