i do take magnesium as part of my calcium plus d supplement. as far as whole grains, i rarely eat bread, but when i do, it is the brownberry multigrain - super hearty stuff. also eat nuts, apples, greens. occasionally have some steel cut oats. mini cliff bar if i'm on the run. lots of veggies.

i haven't had luck keeping them more than a day. i would suggest maybe leaving them out overnight and then put them in the container in the morning right before you leave.

i have an ex husband and my current hubby has an ex wife. we still have pictures of them. no feelings of attachment. most of my backpacking trip thru europe included photos of my ex, and i'm not gonna ditch those memories just because we aren't together anymore. sounds mostly like insecurity. if he says he loves you,…

certainly not for me. but whatever floats your boat. as long as all involved are of legal consenting age - whatever. i feel the same way about polygamy, homosexuality, etc. i wouldn't want to live that way, so i don't. but i certainly don't judge others who do. everyone deserves love and to be loved and to be as freaky or…

i use a protein shake for my breakfast and i've been shedding weight. i love mine. i use chocolate whey. I like the EAS lean protein one. it's tasty and affordable and you can find it at target. i used to use an organic rice one but it was very pricey. anyway, the chocolate whey keeps my sweet tooth satisfied too. i blend…

as long as you are eating the right foods (not mcdonald's french fries) but eating lots of leafy greens, whole grains, beans, nuts etc. -- you will get plenty of protein. if you opt for processed foods, you will have a harder time. the milk substitutes are a good source. i used almond milk. be cautious of the amount of soy…

thanks for clearing that up. wasn't sure if it was pants or hair...and seriously? Injury? that's a scratch. would not require any amount of nudity to display.

i'm even ashamed to say, but i'm betting it was in the neighborhood of 5-7,000 calories. easily. there were so many. probably a pizza AND wings to myself. i had to completely change the way i thought about food. when i would order in, i'd always say "we" and ask for things like 2 sets of chopsticks - even though my husband…

i usually have a protein shake at home. but, you can also fry an egg in the microwave. get a microwave safe dish and heat it up first for a minute & 30 secs. then spray with cooking spray, crack your egg, cover with a lid of some sort, and microwave another 30 sec - 1 min. (just keep these things in your desk if you have…

samoas are my fave too - especially frozen. i could eat an entire box in one sitting so we aren't buying this year. :)

The idea is that you are supposed to sacrifice something as Jesus sacrificed for us. Even if that means flipping it to be positive - it's going out of your way to do something that isn't in your ordinary routine. For example, if you volunteer, you are still sacrificing time. If you give money, you are sacrificing something…

I think rather than "give up", I'm going to commit to exercising at least 30 minutes a day. With two small kids (5 yrs and 21 mos), a DH who travels for work, school at night and work during the day, this is no small task!!!

I make one with chocolate whey protein:: 1 c. plain almond milk 1/2 banana 5 frozen strawberries (about 1 c.) 2 scoops chocolate protein powder ice Whip up in the blender. Tastes like a chocolate shake!! :) Also good (and adds cals) to skip the strawberries and put in a tablespoon or two of peanut butter or PB2. whip up in…

I agree. If you had the flu, you wouldn't force yourself to eat. Give the med time to level off and as some of the other posters have commented, call the doc if you don't feel better in a week or so. In the meantime, just try to eat the most nutrient dense foods you can tolerate. Chicken baked in a little broth and a veg?…

it's a workout by beachbody like p90x but doesn't require any equipment.

you can also poach salmon in the microwave using a little water, lemon and dill. delish!!

i bought the swimsuit issue of sports illustrated and hung pictures all over my refrigerator. now, when i go there, i stop and think do i really want this or do i want that body? (or as close of an approximation as a 36 yr old mother of two can get.)

oh, and once a month i make 3 or 4 pots of homemade soupp and freeze them in 1 c. serving sizes. chicken noodle, chili, etc. Set it out in the morning and zap for about 2 minutes at lunch. My only advice is that if you make soups with the intent to freeze and they have noodles or potatoes, you may want to undercook them…

i like a morning star spicy black bean burger on an arnold sandwich thin. you can zap the burger for 90 seconds and flip it at 45 seconds and it's really good. then have lettuce, tomato, onion, banana pepper rings, pickles with mustard and a little ketchup for under 300 cals. sometimes, if i have extra cals, i'll put a…

i've had shopping excursions that ended in tears. but, i always have to take a step back and remind myself what i like about myself. negative self talk is my worst enemy. so keep your chin up!!!

Congratulations!!! I've watched my weight yo-yo and have finally truly resolved to fix it. What I have learned on this journey thus far is that willpower can be practiced and strengthened. If you haven't used it in awhile, it's gonna take some practice. Just yesterday, I pulled into a McDonald's intent on getting an egg…

muscle weighs more than fat so if you started exercising from day one, you are probably putting on muscle weight. also, you may need to increase your calories depending on how many you are burning. when i plateau, i've found that bumping up to 1400 cals for a week then going back down helps jump start me.

I also know several people who have been successful not counting veggies because I think the point is, there are few people that could eat that many. Additionally, there are reverse calorie foods that take so much effort to digest that they have a net negative effect. i.e. pickles - so nosh away. I say do what works for…
