Hockeywifey- we should be friends! I suffer from a long term injury as well in my achilles tendon. I have the same issues and try to get some cardio in via an indoor exercise bike. A lot of times I can't take a whole lot of resistance. I also do some yoga videos from youtube.

I really think you should get some MRI scans or CT scans done like some people above are saying. Sometimes back pain can be a sign of a bigger issue.
