  • I know it's healthy for my kids. I don't really say things like "Can't have x, y or z". I still fit in my treats. My kids eat the same way I do, whether it's "splurge day" and we're having pizza or grilling some chicken and having veggies on the side. My 3 year old loves drinking water and having fruit/veggies. He will…
  • They eat smaller portions. Even when they go to McDonald's or other fast food places, they eat smaller sizes. Their soda cups are tiny and even the oils they use to fry foods are different. I spent almost 7 years in Okinawa and while there are obese people, it's very uncommon.
  • I just started this week. I have good cardio strength and this program is hard! If you jump into it, really listen to him when he says go at your own pace! I haven't looked at their nutrition guide. I have been doing pretty good with that so far. Check out used copies on Amazon. I got mine there and for more than half the…
  • I tried it for a couple days and I did not like how it made me feel. Very jittery and sick. My friend almost had to go to the hospital because he was taking it and drank a cup of coffee, without thinking about it. The overdose of caffiene made him sweat even though he was freezing and he said he thought his heart was going…
  • My 3 year old is allergic to eggs and he gets hives/all itchy and tells me his tongue feels funny if he accidentally has any. You could have developed an allergy. Maybe the brand you use changed something up? Cut out one thing at a time for at least a week and see if it helps.
  • I agree with using a heart rate monitor. That's how I logged other videos in the past. I am about to start Insanity myself (and no I won't be using Shakeology)
  • In the morning, before work. If I don't, it's so easy to blow it off later. Especially with the weather finally warming up. A lot of my exercising is running outside, so by the late afternoon, it's more fun to play in the back yard with the kids than worry about squeezing in a run. Though sometimes I will get a "bonus…
  • Plan all your meals too. I do and it keeps my grocery budget very predictable and if I stick to the list I don't over buy my fresh stuff. I plan weekly and shop on Sundays. My runs are down to $100-$120 or so a week to feed all 4 of us. If you have a couple bucks to spare now, Food Savers are great for freezing, especially…
  • Cinnamon raisin bagel with a little cream cheese and iced coffee.
  • It turned out that for me, it was almost spot on for my running calories; at least the flat road trails anyways. My walking calories were over estimated by MFP but only by 60-80. Biking was only off by maybe 100 or so.
  • If you really want to become a morning person, try getting up just a little earlier everyday until you are used to it. You could also download one of those alarm clock apps that force you to get up. I have one called "I Can't Wake Up" and for the alarm to stop, you have to complete the action you chose (example, finish a…
  • Cute :) My kids are like that. My oldest is 3.5 and he loves doing pushups with my husband. I recently got a trailer to attach to my bike and he likes to sit back there and cheer me on. And yell at me if I stop pedaling

  • I'm about 150 now and eat 1670, plus most of my exercise calories.
  • Chips for me, especially Funnyuns! I've gotten pretty strong about having a serving size of normal chips, or however much I'm allotting. But that bag of Funnyuns is done! And beer, though I really don't drink like I did as a younger adult. But even just having 3 or 4 over a nice Saturday adds up!
  • You probably could. Whatever method works towards your goals! I personally don't log things like that. I included doing those kinds of chores when I picked my activity level, so I only log my actual work outs.
  • This is one of those "what works for you" things. I personally don't eat breakfast until a few hours later either, on the mornings I exercise first.
  • Today I am having leftover chicken masala. My lunch is usually dinner leftovers. There was a post in (I think) the nutrition forum that was something like "30 lunch ideas". Some of those are pretty good!
  • Personally, I work out better on an empty stomach. Especially on long run days. Find what works for you! I know my friend prefers to have a shake first.
  • Pick the one you will use the most consistently, with all the potential variables the same everytime. For example, I use my home scale on Wednesdays, first thing in the morning before I get dressed.
  • Hello! I've got two boys, 3.5 and 21 months. They certainly keep me busy!
  • I wish! Husband and I went in 2008 and it was our only one. It was so much fun.
  • My kids eat what we eat, for the most part. One is 3.5 and the other is 1.5. The only time I make them anything separate is if I make something I know they won't eat or is spicy (chili, curry). If they don't eat their meal they don't get anything else. The exception to that rule is vegetables. They always get veggies when…
  • If I get thirsty I just deal, though I don't do more than about 5 miles at a time. But my friend used to chew gum. I couldn't do that. With my luck I'd choke.
  • Pack your own stuff in a cooler. That's what I do on road trips.
  • Been very happy with the Garmin Forerunner 110 (the version with a HRM). It's pretty acurate.
  • I just got the Garmin Forerunner 110 and I love it. It just does pace, distance and has a chest strap HRM so it tells me calories. It's easy to use. While all those features of the higher end GPS watches are awesome, at the end of the day I won't use them and so it wasn't worth the extra money. Oh and if acurate calories…
  • Well I'm not so much a "new mom" since I have two and the "baby" is...19 months? Yeah, 19. The older boy is 3.5 years. My prepregnancy weight with #2 was 175lbs and I was something like 200-205 when I left the hospital. Today I am 150. Two csections so my tummy is a little gross looking, but it's going! It was so much…
  • I lived in Okinawa for almost 7 years and I MISS those canned coffees SO MUCH!! I still drink a few cups a day, but I just use a splash of creamer or milk and just a tiny bit of sugar. I used to destroy it with cream and sugar. It tastes better now, too.
  • I used my weight from when I signed up, though when people ask how much I lost overall, I subtract from my highest post partum weight, since I lost 20 before MFP
  • It doesn't sound very safe to me. 600-900 cal/day is pretty low.
