  • I don't take 100% rest days very often. I just have days where I don't run as far, or I go on a walk with the kids or dog instead of any running. Or I take the kids to the park and run around with them. I just listen to what my body tells me and tone things up or down from there. I just don't enjoy a total rest day unless…
  • I was advised that, rather than watching your hear rate, use the "talk test". If you can carry on conversation, you're probably fine. But they also told me anything I did before I could keep doing (aside from the already mentioned high impact stuff, or things that require good balance later on like biking.). Their diet…
  • Did a 2.25 mile run this morning, and looking like another run this afternoon.
  • I've had 2 csections and I got that even up to about 5 months later. Every time I talked to the doctor, they assured me it was normal to still feel achy; it's still a major surgery. If I felt that way, I would just ease up a few days and be fine. I'm 8 months after #2 and now I don't have the same problem anymore.
  • I have a few of the Clean Eating cookbooks by Tosca Reno. They're awesome and the meals are really easy to make.
  • Sonic just did me in yesterday, too! Husband was really wanting a chilli dog and ice cream and it was his birthday. Luckily, I went on a 3 mile run earlier. But yeah...fast food is killer! I think I've only been to Sonic like 3 times in my life. And I've gotten good at cutting out the others quite a bit.
  • Typically I have coffee, fruit and yogurt for breakfast. For lunch, I either pack a sandwich or have previous night's leftovers. For dinner, I usually stick to a basic meat, starch and veggie plan. Sometimes I have junk or we splurge on a dinner out, or I make something like lasagna. I've gotten a lot better at portion…
  • On the way to have #2 The next day. I weighed myself when I got home and was around 200-205 3 months later, about 180. A few weeks ago. Today I weigh about 158. I don't have many pics of myself, so finding one of me standing didn't work. But you can see the results in my face at least ^_^
  • Have to fix the pictures...
  • I used to as well, and one day had that exact same thought! I've just gotten better about giving him smaller portions to start and if he is still hungry, I give him seconds. If there are leftovers, I wrap it for lunch the next day.
  • I usually run in the morning. I love it; really gets my day started! I also like early evening, especially going into this time of year when it's so nice out.
  • Did you weigh in at the same time and under the same circumstances? (Minimal amount of clothes in the morning, for example). But my weight changes a lot during the day, mostly due to water weight. Sometimes by about 5 lbs depending on what else I've had. But I stick to my "Wednesday Weigh In" in the mornings and I'm still…
  • I like Saucony. The running shoes I got now were $60 (and I love them), but I've seen other styles of Saucony cheaper. They also last me a while.
  • I am Air Force and just passed my PT test with a 92 (female under 30), 7 months after a csection, so I can help with my story. To improve my pushups and situps, I got an app called 100pushups and 200 situps. I also randomly do them throughout the day, like during commercials or something. For the mile and a half, I just…
  • I absolutely loved being pregnant both times. I am weird I guess. And they were both totally different. The first was a breeze. I never got sick or anything. The only problems I had was towards the end and the weight hurt. The second, I had pretty much every non-threatening symptom in the book. My eyes went funny, terrible…
  • Some of mine are kind of weird. I also tend to keep vague goals, even though we're always taught goals should have a specific value to them. For instance, I just tell myself I want to look awesome for my sister's wedding. But some of mine - Comfortably wear my wedding ring again (met this! Yay!) Have to get a new fit test…
  • Cranberries, stuffing, squash and sweet potatoes. And greek yogurt. I'm very weird about foods that mix when I don't intend them to or I don't feel go together, or are not the right color. For example, I freak out if I go out for breakfast and maple syrup touches my eggs. I hate when Husband mixes a fuity and chocolate…
  • I use my PT test. I am Air Force and while it may not be a perfect indicator of fitness, I am gunning to break a 95 next year. I scored a 92 this year. I also really enjoy running so I always look for other running based challenges. When I first started running again after pregnancy, it started as "just finish the mile and…
  • I have mine set to 1550. I run 4-5 times a week, varying between short and long runs (1.5 to 4 miles). My strength training is usually completed during PT and is things like pushups and i do that a few times a week. Depending on how hard a workout i had determines how much of my calories i eat back. So during the week i…
  • Wow looks interesting! I might have to go. I live in Burlington County, very close to Philly. I work full time with two kids and a shift working husband, so I don't think I'd be able to join up for any kind of training though...(I'm lucky to be military so I get to do PT everyday at least).
  • I know water helps me a lot.
  • I know it sounds cliche, but I did not care that I gained weight, even though I started chubby with the first. It was for something so wonderful it was worth it. Both pregnancies I gained about 40lbs. The first one I did not really keep exercising and after I did eventually lose it all, though that prepregnancy weight was…
  • I don't use a pedometer, but I'm kind of the same. I work in a building where I transit between floors regularly, and at home I chase the squirtlings around. So I don't log that stuff and just set my profile to lightly active. It's been working well for me.
  • I don't track extras at work, I just have my profile set to light active, as some days I might have to journey to the 4th floor several times. I'm military and some days our PT sessions might be hard to track. So if it's not running I don't log it. I do log my dog walks, because I tend to take him on fairly long ones, and…
  • I switched to doing low impact while I was "super pregnant" and the elliptical was great. The gym also has another machine I like better, though I don't know the exact name of it. It's kind of like an elliptical and stairmaster.
  • Haha I am not the person to answer this! I love Chinese food and eat it so infrequently that when I do, I still get friend rice and general tso's chicken. Sometimes an egg roll with it :) I just don't eat the huge portions I used to.
  • I'm stationed away from family, but Husband and I will be having ham, mashed potatoes, some kind of veggie and dessert. Maybe apple pie or cheesecake. And we'll probably eat the squirtling's chocolate. He's only 2.5, so he isn't getting that much to begin with.
  • My 2.5 year old LOVES the Wiggles and I definately feel like I get a good workout in dancing with him! I also have a good double jogger for him and the baby and we go on long walks. If I really need to fit something more in, I wait for Husband to get home from work and leave them with him. I also use them as baby weights.…
  • Sometimes I use pumpkin butter. It's really good! But usually, I just "splurge" on a little real maple syrup.
  • Good luck to all you joining the military! I've been US Air Force for over 10 years, it's hard but worth it!
