Insomnia could also be an adrenal issue which is pretty common with hypo patients who have been sick for so long. Its definitely worth it to get a 24 hour saliva cortisol test done to see. I used to have a super hard time trying to fall asleep at night, and then would end up waking up multiple times of the night. When I…

Wii Zumba 2 and Zumba Core is the way to go if you like dancing anyway. You get a great cardio workout! It took me about 2 weeks for each game to get the moves down, but I am generally burning about 600-700 calories an hour on a medium intensity hour long class, and I find it a lot of fun! :D

Skinnyms.com has a whole section of crockpot recipes! I'm sure you could sub whatever meat the recipes call for, and it would be just fine! I've made quite a few of the recipes myself, and they're really good.

Yesss! Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard in Banana Cream is pretty amazing! :9 Loooove Amazon.com!

I loved Hulu Plus!! A lot of the current tv shows don't show on Amazon Prime & Netflix, and even with the monthly sub for netflix + hulu, it'll still end up being TONS cheaper than cable. If you don't like it after the first month, unsub. No harm in trying, and you'll only be out a few bucks.

I used to... but all the pain and millions of other symptoms will go away when you get on an optimal dose of thyroid.

Mmmm... kettlebell goblet squats! :D

TSH isn't a good indicator of anything really.... and they tested total T3, not FT3 which would have actually shown how much usable T3 is in your system, and would also show if you're converting T4 into T3. Also - different labs use different ranges for the tests, so it would be helpful to know those as well.

Zumba!!!! And a kick *kitten* kettlebell workout burns about the same for me! :D

I totally agree with Lorcart. Life is too short to be kept sick by an ignorant doctor who has absolutely no interest in listening to their patients. Best way to find a GOOD doctor is by calling compounding pharmacies to find out who prescribes NDT, or Cytomel even. Trust me... I've gone through 6 doctors, and have missed…

Thanks guys! Unfortunately, I did gain back most of the weight I had lost previously. But I'm confident that It'll come off just as easily as before now that I'm starting to feel well again. I'm not sure if I had anything wrong with my adrenals, I have yet to find a doctor who thinks that far out of the box. Tbh, my…

A lot of times T4 only meds for treating hypothyroidism doesn't work. I spent 2 years on T4 only and gained 80 pounds very very quickly no matter what I did to try to minimize the gain, and still FELT extremely hypo. It wasn't until T3 was added to my regime that I saw any progress whatsoever... but I had to fight with my…

Eeew. I've gone through that before. Actually just got sick of it a few months ago, and scrapped both my PCP & my Endo. I'm seeing an Internal Medicine doctor that will actually talk with me rather than at me. Good luck! But in reality... if your thyroid meds were right, you wouldn't need a diet pill.

In addition to having your adrenals checked, have your iron checked as well. Its pretty common for people who have issues with still feeling sick on NDT to have low iron levels. :D

I'm still here! :D TED isn't something you should just take a "wait and see" stance on. If the muscles in the back of your eye swell too much, it could put pressure on your ocular nerves and cause some nasty damage. Although its possible it could get a little better on its own, its still way too serious to not see an eye…

Thanks :D I'm almost positive I'm right! There's so much research out there that's backing up my theory! When I was looking up case studies to take to my doctor, I ran across one that listed a bunch of different medications that can significantly effect a person's TSH.

I take mine in the morning, and wait a whole hour before coffee or anything. But I've heard quite a few people say that they'll set their alarm clocks an hour before they normally get up - take their meds - then go back to sleep for an hour.

I'd like to know as well! I read some really good things about kelp, and am really curious whether or not anyone here has tried supplementing with seaweed.
-
I put it in my coffee, but have to add a little creamer to it in order to be able to actually drink it. :D I also use it on my daughters KP, and its the only thing that's ever worked for it. Also for my sons eczema on his hands! :D Best stuff ever!

Here's a group on Facebook that has posted a bunch of doctors thyroid patients recommend based on their own personal experiences. You might be able to find one in your area. Be sure to read the comments sections too, because there's a lot more listed.…

Amazing news!!!! So happy for you!! Keep us updated! :D

Lol - if anyone is in the market for a great doctor in coastal NC - I know a good one! :D
-
Thanks so much guys! :D And Magtize - the most important thing I've learned in the past 4 years of dealing with my thyroid issues is this: be as vocal as you possibly can - keep talking until someone finally listens!! You know your body better than anyone else labs or no labs.

I use plain fat free greek yogurt in lieu of sour cream. I also like it with lots of fruit, maybe some granola, and a bit of honey. My fav though is to buy the Chobani fat free fruit varieties, and scoop them up with crunchy granola bars for a yummy snack.

Good luck to you! I'm in the same boat right along with you - but I actually just got done firing both my Primary Care Manager and my 4th Endo... I think I'm finally done with Endo's btw. My new doc is internal medicine, but he has a reputation of not relying too heavily on labs which is exactly what I'm looking for - I…

I also have a Polar FT7, and I can't work out without it! Its amazing - even wishes you a happy b-day on your birthday!!

I've been taking Cytomel since January, and I absolutely couldn't live without it - it really makes a huge difference for me. Previously, I had been on Synthroid/various dosages. It woudn't matter if my labs showed me in the normal ranges or not, I always had a storm cloud floating above my head. As soon as the Cytomel was…

I haven't heard about the sugar thing either - I think it depends a lot on whether you get the ones that have added flavors. I use fat free greek yogurt because of the extra protein it has in it. I even use the plain ones in lieu of sour cream, and its absolutely amazing.

My doctor added in T3 (Cytomel) to my regimine. My labs had been showing normal for quite a while, but I was still having some major Hypo symptoms with just the Synthroid. After the Cytomel was added all those symptoms went away, and I was me again. But then - everyone is different. Some people don't agree with Cytomel,…
