Well - from your lab results, according to STTM and my personal thyroid doctor, your FT3 should be in the upper quartile of the range. Since the FT3 is the actual active portion of the thyroid hormone, I'm guessing you're not feeling very well. My doctor doesn't even test my TSH as in a lot of cases there's a huge…

The Yahoo thyroid group has a list of US and EU docs I believe that are patient vetted. And then there are the FTPO groups on facebook for all over as well. Might be a good way to find a good doc. Or go to your local pharmacy and ask which doctors prescribe NDT.. the ones who do are more likely to check your FT4 & FT3...

Is your endo checking your Free T4 and Free T3 while you're on anti-thyroid meds or just the TSH? The Free T4 and Free T3 are your actual thyroid hormones, its more than likely they're just going by your TSH a pituitary hormone, and your thyroid hormones themselves could be completely tanked. This is what I went through..…

This website has helped me tremendously to take charge of my health, and its all based on actual thyroid patient experiences - http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com

Agree wholeheartedly with lindsey1979. After going through 7 doctors who only wanted to look at my TSH after surgically induced hypothyroidism, no one ever paid attention to antibodies OR the actual thyroid hormones (TSH is a pituitary hormone, not a thyroid hormone) to assess my thyroid hormone levels. Crazy how that…

In order for me to get NDT to work effectively and get rid of the nasty symptoms of hypothyroidism (I don't have a thyroid) I had to correct other deficiencies - Vit. D, Iron, Sex Hormones. Also, Armour didn't work very well for me... but Nature-throid works amazingly. Not all NDT's are created equally... and once you…

Free T3 is optimal when its in the top quarter of the range. Yours is super low.... and considering Free T3 is the actual ACTIVE portion of thyroid hormone, its no wonder you're not feeling well. You're not converting from FT4 to FT3 very well. I use Hema-Plex to bring my iron levels up... if your iron is low you're not…

I use a Rumbleroller on a regular basis, and also a lacross ball when I need to really focus on a single area.

Thanks!!! I had my thyroid removed a few years ago, and quickly gained 80 pounds. Finally starting to get back to my old self, and I've found lifting weights to be REALLY addictive, and I'm quickly gaining confidence back that being sick took away from me! BTW - new deadlift PR today - 260lbs. 300 is right around the…

I just started lifting heavy mid-November - but these are my latest PRs... I haven't done bench presses yet. Female Front Squat - 145lbs Back Squat - 220lbs new PR set just yesterday. Deadlift - 245lbs new PR set last week. :D I also push pressed for my first time yesterday, and hit 100lbs.

Massages every 3 weeks! <3 Absolutely amazing and worth it after training 4 days a week doing heavy lifting and RKC stuff! Makes me feel like a new woman!

I'm steadily losing. For me though, I had to sort out other issues like low iron & vit D levels, sex hormone imbalance, and work on adrenal fatigue to see any progress. I'm currently taking a combination of NDT + Cytomel. I'm slowly backing off of the T3, and adding in more NDT - I wasn't able to tolerate NDT at all at the…

I think its a good idea for anyone to have a good Igg food intolerance testing done. Regardless what you eat, if you're intolerant to it, it can cause issues. I just recently had to cut out eggs out of my diet due to a severe intolerance to them, and all my bloating disappeared with it thankfully! :D Luckily, I have…

I can see why your TSH raised so high... you went from taking in 200mcg of T4 to getting only 38mcg of T4 + 9mcg of T3. That's not anywhere close to being equivalent. Proper dosing with Natural Desiccated Thyroid should go something like this - you start on 1 grain (60mg), and then you raise every 2 weeks by 30mg until you…

I'm doing the C25k treadmill version with my 3 kids. I started at about 215 - I'm now at 199, although I'm only weighing in once a month. I don't want any scale frustrations to derail me from how amazing I'm feeling right now. I do C25k then follow it up with kettlebell strength training 3 days a week. I've found that…

If you're not losing weight while hypo and eating correctly/exercising its because your meds aren't optimal more than likely. I am hypo due to having a full thyroidectomy and regardless of how I ate, or how much I worked out I wasn't able to lose any weight whatsoever. I had to get my meds optimized, iron/Vit D/VitB up as…

Absolutely love them! I get the chocolate brownie bars, and usually have them for a snack instead of something loaded with empty calories.
-
I mix it up at home... C25k + kettlebell strength training on one day, next day Kinect Zumba.

How are your Free T3 levels, and how are you feeling besides the weight gain? You may not be converting FT4 to FT3. If your FT3 is low, regardless of what your TSH says, you're not really hyper. Also - what thyroid replacement are you on? Synthroid will boost your T4, while suppressing your TSH, but if you're a poor…

I'm on week 1 also! I'm doing it with my 3 kids ages 15 to 5. :D We registered for the Color Run in Raleigh and even booked our hotel... so there's absolutely no backing out for me! Feel free to add me as well! :D

How awesome! She looks 20 years younger! Way to go mom!!!

Hi! :D I'm Jennifer, and I just turned 34 this past March. This is actually my second time around with MFP. My first time I lost 30 pounds, but due to mistreatment of my thyroid disease, I quickly gained it all back. Luckily, this time around, I am under the care of an amazing integrative medicine doctor that is putting…

I ferment kefir water! According to Cultures for Health, a standard 48 hour fermentation process eliminates about 80% of the sugar, and the remaining 20% turns into fructose. Hope that helps!

That's absolutely ridiculous mattashbrock. how can you possibly say that all doctors treat the whole pt??? The 7 doctors that I had seen would only spend a total of 5-10 minutes with me, didn't care to even listen to all the symptoms I had been having. The 2nd doctor I had seen even before looking at labs or anything…

I'm from the Tri-Cities!! :D Living in North Carolina at the moment though. USMC family. :D

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey in Banana Cream is pretty amazing! Love that stuff!

Currently taking 12.5mcg t3 for my cm dose - 1 grain ndt at 9am, and another 1 grain at 2pm. Holding steady for another week or two to see where I'm at with new labs.
-
How else are you feeling besides not being able to lose weight? And what lab tests are being run besides TSH? FT4 & FT3 need to be run to determine the cellular level of these hormones. Totals, and Uptakes are useless. Also - how are your iron levels? Being low in Iron could cause thyroid not being absorbed properly.…

I read a few articles about using Selenium to help with TED inflammation when mine was acting up. It seemed to help quite a bit! You could try that, I also use Curcumin for another anti-inflammatory/antioxidant, and eat blueberries daily. :D
