  • I read somewhere that women should take calcium citrate 2x/day, so I started taking that. Supposed to help with weight loss, too! I also take a multivitamin, fish oil pills, and glucosamine/chondroitin. I'm curious about people who take coconut oil--- do you take a pill, or eat the oil? What's it supposed to help with? And…
  • If at all possible, try before you buy. You'll know when you get on, whether it is comfortable for you or not. Everyone is a little different. Good luck!
  • My g-uncle was named Harry BeVer. But supposedly it was pronounced "buh-Veer". I got a phone call from "Leif Ericksen"--- turns out this is truly the man's name, and he lives in my neighborhood! Nice guy, though-- I'm now friends with his family. Thanks to everyone for the laughs!
  • I think that's a NSV!
  • Doing genealogy, I found A. Brown Weede. His real name! Also felt sorry for the lady who married a man whose last name was Semenchuk.
  • Stunning! You look fabulous, what a great way to start your 40s!
  • Sounds like HE has major self-esteem issues, and yells at you to deflect attention from himself. You have a beautiful daughter with him, so I would think long and hard before leaving him. I started reading "The Peoplemakers" by Virginia Satir which is a terrific book on how to make a loving family environment. However, it…
  • Sorry I cannot support any *body* without a head!
  • Whole grains, whole fruits and veggies = GOOD carbs. Adding lots of protein to my diet helped immensely with my carb cravings. And I still have a Zone Perfect bar nearly every day, it's as good as a candy bar to me. But a perfect life for me, would be a diet of French bread, butter and cheese, and pizza.
  • I think it sounds wonderful! I know she will appreciate that it came from your heart, and it will mean a lot to her because you really put effort into it.
  • One other tip--- yes, look the woman in the eye. You can also look down occasionally. But do NOT stare at her chest, that's a major turn-off. Also, online dating sites have been known to work. Minimal "personal contact" required to initiate. I met my husband online before there were even dating sites online.
  • I LOL'd when I re-read your original post--- 1.74 cm, yes, you are very VERY small!
  • I think it's perfectly normal.
  • That's terrific! I once adopted a male kitten because I thought my older, Siamese girl "Duchess" was lonely. She HATED that kitten and would continually fight with him. He ran away from home several times and eventually found himself a lovely family down the street that took him in. That was when I realized.... Duchess…
  • Why are you feeling down? Tell us about it and maybe we can help?
  • What's your daily calorie level? Also, having more protein will help you feel full. Cheerios plus OJ = rapidly metabolized, will make you hungry quickly. Adding protein to breakfast will help level out your blood sugars.
  • Husband has an expensive ($100) memory foam pillow. It works great but he has to replace it every 6 months because his heavy head squishes it. However, if you go to the store and buy just any memory foam pillow, you could end up with one that is too rigid, like a brick, or too soft. I've got both those kinds sitting at…
  • Don't like Christmas Shoes. Don't like the stupid hippo song. Hate the 12 Days of Christmas (will the song ever end? Please????) Every time I hear "Do You Hear What I Hear?" I think, how stupid!: "A child, a child, shivers in the cold Let us bring him silver and gold...." ummmm what about a blanket? Or some warm clothes? I…
  • Hey there, You are suffering from serious depression, and you need medical help. Today. Just like a person with diabetes, or near-sightedness, you are struggling with something that cannot be fixed without help. I know you feel hopeless, and you are trying to hang on. Please, please go see a doctor or psychiatrist today…
  • When my best friend died several years ago, I went into an eating/mothering frenzy. I was helping take care of his 5 yr. old son (as well as my own kids, then 4 and 7) and I tried to make us all feel better by getting lots of sweets. I've learned since then that I cannot and do not need to take on other peoples' pain--- I…
  • Don't do it! Bought a pair; it really didn't make a difference.
  • I'm curious about this--- if anyone has any suggestions. I would have thought that if your knee was giving you problems, you'd want to lay off running? I've been having knee problems and found that insoles help a lot, but I'm not a runner. You could also try glucosamine/chondroitin supplements.
  • I think the author has a point. However, I have a real problem with her checklist of questions to ask a doctor: "Do you think people can be healthy while being fat?" She thinks the answer is yes. She thinks the "establishment" is out to discredit and prove that fat people are unhealthy. I think the answer is, if you are…
  • Hi there! Have you programmed your "goals" and profile in yet? Best way to start, IMHO, is by logging every bit of food you eat. You don't even need to reduce it, to start. It's helpful to have a baseline and work from there. "Friend" me if you want! ~Jessica
  • Hey I just looked at your diary... 1200 is a very low calorie intake, it might be that your body is overriding your brain because it knows it needs FUEL to keep running properly. It's OK to do a 1200 calorie diet for a little while, but over the long haul you might start losing muscle mass. OH--- but in answer to your…
  • I don't know about you, but I've been failing miserably because of stress and pain. Food is my comfort. I'll be glad to "friend" you and maybe we can work through it together.
  • Thanks everyone! I take fish oil (almost) every day. I keep thinking it can't be a muscular problem, because in general I am very flexible. However, there's no harm in trying some stretching and foam roller to see if it helps.
  • So, based on your favorite features of yourself, what would you re-name yourself? I think I'll go with BigBrains...
  • Nope! But bumping so someone in Chi-town might see it!
  • I know how you feel! Maybe you could ask the owner of the candy bowl not to put it out? Or to put in something you don't really care for? Or can you tell yourself, absolutely that candy is NOT for you (and it probably isn't!) I've found that I go all sugar-craving CRAZY when I drink "diet" soda, or flavored water. The fake…
