  • Never even thought about it! I removed my "automatic posts" on newsfeed about when I complete my diary, how many days I've logged in, and finally I even removed my daily exercise posts. Because really, I don't need people to say "WTG!" or "Happy 250!" to help improve my life. But I also recognize that there are many, many…
  • What has worked for me: logging my food *religiously*, and eating enough protein (up to 44 g per meal/snack/whatever). The protein will help you stay full. What doesn't work: thinking that if I stop logging, the calories really don't count. If I eat it, my body will log it! No more excuses.
  • Some people (like myself) break out wherever and whenever they spend time touching their skin. Do you spend time resting your chin on your hand? I discovered in school that when I was resting my hand on my cheek, that cheek would break out a few days later, no matter how carefully I washed and cleaned daily. Also, harsh…
  • AWESOME! You have done wonderful work, and aren't you glad you have those photos so you can see where you've been? It's so easy to lose perspective with the day-to-day monotony of the weight loss, especially when things seem to slow down. YOU ROCK!
  • You are AWESOME! Love your pics and your attitude. It's easy to feel sorry for yourself sometimes, especially when you've got a large amount to lose, but you just put on your big boy pants and do it. Proud of you and your wife.
  • Love this, but now I'm craving 714 Cheetos!
  • I will admit any kind of bad smells will turn me off instantly. Yes, this includes farts. And yes, I've been married for almost 19 yrs. On the other hand, if he smells good I'll be all over him (figures, the guy I married won't wear/can't stand cologne!) Even imagining a sexy movie star farting, will turn me off. When I…
  • I checked it out from the library and didn't like it. I started feeling like a rat pacing back and forth in a box. Just wasn't my thing, I guess!
  • Whenever I go back to visit my Mom, we joke that we put on party hats and go all-out for a good time, which usually involves sugar and more sugar (neither of us drinks alcohol). I had to wait about 3 months before I felt confident enough in my new healthy lifestyle, before I could visit my Mom again without bingeing and…
  • Holy WOW! You look great, your progress is really stunning! Thank you for believing in yourself enough to do this, you are giving others hope and motivation to do the same! Cheers! :drinker:
  • I've been getting headaches lately too, but I don't know why. I don't think it is diet-related for me.

  • How to tell if you are truly HUNGRY vs. just having cravings: Would you eat a big salad? Would you eat just about anything? Then go ahead and EAT-- something healthy, ideally with protein. Cheese, chicken, cottage cheese, protein shake. Protein will help you feel satiated and not craving. If it is close to your TOM that…
  • *Jealous* I want your waist! And your buns! You look fabulous.....
  • Woo hoo! I feel great for you! I started at size 18 and I'm *finally* down to 14, can't wait to hit the 12s!
  • I know what you mean, it can be *so* discouraging to read other people's success stories.... "I lost 120 lbs in 12 days, and if I can do it, you can too!!!!!!!!!" Keep your eye on the prize--- health, fitness, and a better you every day. Plus, it should help that according to your profile pic you are *gorgeous* anyway!…
  • Just looking at the website, with those giant jellybeans, made me feel defeated. And hungry!
  • Leah, Sometimes it is helpful to find out *why* you are having such a difficult time. Don't get me wrong, losing weight is a difficult journey--- and many people never even get as far as you have, to really *wanting* to make the right choices. You are definitely on the road, but remember it is a long journey! Are you…
  • I'm in Crystal Lake, and I always say Chicagoland--- never Chicago. But then again, when I lived in Aurora and people would say they are going to "The City" and I always wondered what "city" they meant! LOL.
  • Oh the horror, the horror! Clean up your room, girlfriend! No idea about the weight, but I just have to harangue you because it is Mother's Day and I'm a Mom!
  • i used to really like it, and found it to be pretty accurate (I guess every day *was* like today!) Then I got annoyed by it. I keep track of my weight every day, but I don't log it every day. So I can weigh myself in the morning at 185 lbs, although MFP has my weight as 190 lbs, and then MFP will say "If every day was like…
  • Congrats everyone! I saw a billboard that said, "Your wife is HOT..... Maybe it's time to get your air conditioning fixed!" LOL My NSV is that I scrubbed the boys' bathroom until sweat was pouring off my face. That's fat crying, right?
  • I've had that happen with my kids when they were really little and I'd get *so* ticked off at them! All that adrenaline got fueled into rage against the kiddos. :ohwell: My dogs, on the other hand--- I have to lock one of them in the crate when I exercise because otherwise she will lick my face every time I get near the…
  • I've loved it and I've hated it. Now I push myself to set a schedule of exercise and stick to it, even if I don't feel like it. I do it to lose weight. I do it because I know it helps battle depression. I do it because it helps keep the brain stronger. I do it to reshape my body, because losing weight without toning would…
  • Thanks, it is the spiraling out of control I was worried about. In spite of a rough start yesterday, I managed to come out only 30 cals over my daily limit, so I feel pretty good now.
  • It would help to have specifics here: what lab tests were "worse"?
  • I just want to throw this out there, and see if anyone will agree (or disagree) with me: There are 2 types of muscle fibers, slow twitch and fast twitch. The slow twitch muscles are useful for posture, and things that need to be held for long periods of time. The fast twitch muscles are useful for instantaneous, *quick*…
  • I get calmed by having my hubby rub a teeny tiny circle on the tip of my nose. Weird, I know!
  • Hehe, I think we should be friends, I do the same thing! Takes a lot of motivation to get off the couch and do something.
  • So glad you shared this, what a wonderful motivation for today!
  • Try this website: http://bwsimulator.niddk.nih.gov/ I didn't originally think about the fact that your BMR is a function of your activity level, so if you are exercising hard for an hour 3x a week, your BMR will be higher than someone who sits around--- and this doesn't even factor in the extra calories you burn while…
