  • Homemade Yayla Çorbası (Turkish Yogurt Soup) and a big salad. Might have a snack after I get back from the gym like maybe a small piece of chocolate...
  • Don't take any crap from anyone. You are right to be proud of all you have accomplished. Everyone's body responds differently so you have better results than the naysayers. You are also being very strict with your eating and training which most people can't stick with. Don't bother to answer any more disses to you.…

  • I have been working out for 3 months now. Started with body weight squats because of my horribly arthritic knees, ankles, hips, back, pelvis etc. Just graduated to adding dumbbells. Still can't get all the way down as far as the guy in your pic, but am getting closer. It is good you reminded us of proper form. Thanks.…
  • Gave up going on Facebook everyday and playing my games on it. Not a bad trade-off.

Nothing matters but the effort you exert. You're done when you've collapsed, not before. I so agree with this! Thanks kneeki
  • I think that anyone I see working out hard is doing a good thing for themselves. I always say to myself way to go for trying so hard. I'm hoping that people will think the same when they see me sweating my butt off from a hard workout. It's taken me almost 3 months to get to the point where I can jog a little now. I was so…
  • In no way are you even close to being narcissistic. You are a normal person who worked his *kitten* off to get healthier. So your family does not know how to handle this right. It's their problem, not yours. Keep looking after your own health and happiness. Maybe someday they will understand. Most possibly there are some…
  • Congrats on your success!
  • Thursday night at the gym I was feeling really good about myself because I am finally able to jog on the treadmill. It has taken me almost 3 months to be able to do this with my back injuries, fibromyalgia and arthritis. Then this stuck up 20ish year old guy and his girlfriend get on the 2 treadmills to my right. I'm doing…
  • You look amazing!!! The hard work really shows.
  • Place on cookie sheet. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil. Sprinkle with Greek seasoning blend. Roast in a 400° oven for 6-10 min. Before serving squirt on a little lemon juice from fresh cut lemon wedge. Super yummy!
  • I just burnt 438 calories on a Matrix treadmill for 45 minutes of level 5 intervals with a 5 minute cool down at speed 1.8. I get my heart rate into the cardio zone just fine on this program. I have horrible arthritis in both knees and am not able to run. This was the alternate suggested by my trainer. I am working my way…
  • I think it's part of the modeling world's narrow view of what is proper. Agents and clients are only looking for a model who fits into their mold of what's considered beautiful. I used to model when I was smaller and know firsthand the way bookings are done. One of my friends is a world class fitness model and bodybuilder.…
  • Awesome post. The recipes can be used by anyone who's not on a diet too. :drinker:
  • Right now I'm only eating close to 1230 calories a day so every bite is precious. Plus it's gross when people stick their germy fork into your food! Yesterday one of my co-workers took part of my pickle without asking me & I got pissed. I was like why didn't you order your own pickle? Then she said "you're on a diet and…
  • My chronic arthritis pain is what finally got my *kitten* in gear to lose weight and exercise. Carrying around an extra 100lbs on my body was only making things worse. I was at a point of no return where it was difficult to get up and go to work. I found out at the doctor that I had shrunk 1/2 inch since last year and the…
  • Go see a Doctor or a Chiropractor as you may have a pinched nerve somewhere. It never hurts to find out for sure.
  • I'll be making Grandma O'Brien's Irish Potato soup today or tomorrow. Already had the corned beef and cabbage at parent's. Going out to a local pub for some beer & cheer tomorrow night. Éirinn go Brách!
  • I'm in a migraine phase currently due to weather fluctuations here in Wisconsin. I've had them for 3 days now. Maxalt is my go to medicine plus a cocktail of other meds and caffeine. It took experimenting with the meds to find what usually works for me. Sometimes nothing works and I end up in the ER to get Demerol shots.…
  • When I was on Zoloft it made me lose my appetite. Paxil was the same. I'm not on anything anymore. Right now-Some days I could care less if I eat and other days I could eat everything in sight. Maybe it's just a whole bunch of factors and not the medicine. You can ask your Dr. to try something else. For women we have so…
  • I had a cheeseburger and fries from a fancy restaurant yesterday and it tasted great, but I burped the taste of fries all afternoon. I did fit the calories into my allowance for the day and hit the gym for 1 hour cardio last night. It is something I won't do on a regular basis. The craving was met and life goes on. I'm…
  • I'm lazy so I drink a pre-made Muscle Milk Light shake. They come in an 8.25 oz carton w/a straw. They have 20 grams protein and only 150 calories. I also have Designer Whey powders in vanilla and chocolate to use at home when I have more time. I like the flavor of both of these brands. Sorry it wouldn't post so I…

  • I leave home about 7am and don't get back til 6 or 7 pm depending on the day's work schedule. I'm not a morning person so I head for the gym before going home. If I'm hungry I eat an apple or granola bar in the car while driving home (it takes 30-45 minutes to get home from my work). Sometimes I walk at lunchtime if the…
  • I agree! I had a Reese's peanut butter cup mini egg the other day and have no regrets. I just put it in with my other food for the day.
  • Thanks so much for sharing your story with us! It is truly an inspiring one. I feel better knowing that there are other people who are on the same journey to be healthy as I am. You look as fabulous as you feel! :))
  • I don't like to get up in the morning so on weekdays here's my breakfast: Muscle Milk Light shake. I can grab it and drink on the way to work. If I'm hungry I add a piece of fruit or part of a Kashi GOLEAN bar. On weekends I'll have other things like yogurt and fruit, toast w/peanut butter, cereal, eggs, etc. If I eat a…
  • How about a Miller Genuine Draft 64 beer? They taste good and I plan them into my calories for the day when I drink them. I honestly have not been going out much since I started this journey in January. I'm afraid if I have more than 2 beers I'll get drunk and lose control. I sure don't miss the hangovers though!
  • I ate 2 Hershey's bliss dark chocolate pieces and planned them into my calorie allotment for the day. No guilt here-they tasted good!
