  • I've been on MFP on and off for a few years with good success. The end of last year just ran away from me, working 3 p/t jobs and I just ate awfully. I'm now back up to nearly 140lbs so I've got some hard work to do. Most if my friends I've had for ages and they're silent friends now so I could do with new up to date…
  • I burnt 500 calories doing household cleaning, heavy effort for 60 minutes
  • My foot fits in there pretty well
  • There is an organ in your body called the liver, and another called the kidney (well technically kidneys because most people have two). The main purpose of these organs is to remove toxins from your body and they do this all day every day. Yes drinking more water on a regular basis will help your kidneys work more…
  • When you look at it alcohol is actually a toxin, so I imagine that drinking 8 drinks a week on a regular basis would do damage to the body and over time that damage could be compounded. So I can understand why, within the medical community , 8 drinks a week would make someone a heavy drinker.
  • Nothing cos I'm English and it's not a holiday for us :-(
  • Me, me, me! Got 3 cats - Skip, Darcy and Bournville. Skip was a feral rescued by my fiancé (before we met) from the skips behind the supermarket he works at and Darcy and Bournvile are both RSPCA rescues. Currently on holiday for a week and I'm missing them so much!! Especially Bournville who is the lap cat of the 3 and…
  • It is kind of the whole point of calorie counting to log everything you eat and drink. Just because they aren't starchy doesn't mean they don't have calories. Yes some are very low, but things like sweetcorn and peas have a higher calorie content than say asparagus. Edit spelling
  • I thought you meant kitchen scale initially. Gotta have one of those
  • I remember trying to do this with a yoga DVD and I had no idea what she was on about, then all of a sudden about 3 weeks later it happened and I understood. The trying to stop the flow of pee is a good way of describing it, but not sure how well that works with guys - I dunno if your bits work with different muscles to us…
  • I'm not sure about the whole breakfast is the most important meal of the day argument. As to the whole it revs up your metabolism thing I'm nowhere near convinced. All I know is that if I don't have breakfast I feel sick, lethargic and dizzy so I need breakfast even at half 4 in the morning. I personally recommend porridge…
  • Hi! I'm 26, getting married in 13 months and have 3 fur babies (cats). I've lost my weight (nearly 28lbs) and after my holiday in 2 1/2 weeks I'll be back on maintenance. Currently doing Ripped in 30 to get sexy (well kind of) for the holiday and because I've got shin splints and can no longer run! I too started on C25K! I…
  • Well I'm a 5ft 2" 26 year old female and I'm currently losing weight on 1550, so you're not eating enough if your calorie intake is actually 1400. If you haven't got a scale you have no idea what you are actually consuming. You need to start from scratch and stop guessing your figures otherwise you won't make any progress…
  • I don't have a problem (32DD) but some others do. It will depend on a variety of factors and some need to double up on the sports bra.
  • I find that I do fine for a few weeks/months then a couple pounds go back on, so then I start eating at a deficit to lose them and the cycle starts again. I don't mind this though. You're never going to maintain the exact weight and I'm not going to forgo enjoying things like Easter, birthdays, holidays and Christmas so…
  • Are you a girl or a guy? Age height etc. cos if you're a guy you're eating WAY too low!
  • Great post! I hope people realise that weight gain doesn't always equal fat gain! I go on holiday in 3 weeks - I'm eating at a deficit and doing Ripped in 30. I'm hoping to lose a pound or two more than my target weight so that when I come back I don't gave much to repair. But if I don't I'll just do what needs to be done.…
  • I log daily - nearly at maintenance again after a poor month and gaining 6lbs. Currently doing Jillian Michaels' Ripped in 30 as I go on holiday in 3 weeks and 2 days (not that I'm counting or anything). Just a little FYI - I like friends who will actually talk and post comments and updates and stuff. You know a little…
  • I love little nibbbly finger foods but they always seem to have loads of calories and you always eat loads of them!
  • I go on holiday 4 weeks today and I'm 123lbs (2 away from goal, 4 away from ultimate goal) so I've decided to focus more on toning/sculpting and strength and started a Ripped in 30 today. I'm generally very fit, but bloody hell is it hard work! Good stuff though!
  • When I'm at the gym and I see so done who is overweight or old (I mean like 60+) at the gym too all I feel is pride for them. I think hey are awesome - they have taken the decision into their own hands and are doing something about it. They're disregarding the fact that they think everyone is staring at them and thinking…
  • There's a YouTube channel called something along the lines of dorm room exercise. Something with dorm room in the title. Check that out
  • Recommended rule of thumb to avoid injury is to increase mileage weekly by about 10% so that your body doesn't get shocked by the sudden increase and strain on it. Find a training plan, it will give you suggested workouts to help improve not only your endurance and stamina but your speed too. For a marathon, you need to be…
  • Everything gives me gas, so I have no idea!
  • Running roughly burns 100 calorie per mile, and as I'm training for a 10K my long run is in excess of 5 miles, and regularly run 2-3miles 3/4 days a week. I also have a very active job, and when I do a long shift I add the calorie burn from my pedometer (minus about 10-20%) and I can walk over 20,0000 steps at work.
  • If I'm not well I generally want carbs and sugar and fat. Comfort food basically. To be honest, when I'm ill I'm more concerned about getting better than sticking to my calories. Your body needs fuel when ill and you can get back on track when you're better. Hope you feel better soon x
  • I'm 5ft 2" and 121lbs. I'm a size 10 (UK) for jeans and dresses, possibly a size 8 if the cut is generous. Normally an 8 or 10 for tops. I've got an hour glass figure as I have "childbearing" hips lol
  • Porridge. I have it for breakfast everyday!
  • I'm 5ft 2 and currently maintaining at approx 121. I do find though that I've got a little pooch on my belly - it's just not flat and I have "child bearing" hips. Makes for so good hour glass figure though. But yes I do understand where you're coming from.mi think if you want to get tie of those problem areas it's more…
