Good for you. It took me 10 yrs longer than you to get that realisation and act on it. But as they say, it's never too late... and this is true. I've been through diet many time but without lasting success. I've approached that one totally differently. As a change in lifestyle instead of simply a diet. I never thought like…

I think you are doing the right thing already. Days like you mentionned, there is no ways you can fit in the exercise and don't feel bad about it. Call them your days off exercises as we do need those as well. So if you exercise every time you can and eat healthy, you are already doing all the right things. I don't know if…

One thing I would add and this fall in the common sense category... stay away from Salt, sodium as much as you can. It's amazing when you start comparing labels of equivalent products.

One thing I do when I know I'm going to be running around is that I have some protein replacement meal that I use with water. So just need to bring with me a shaker, the powder and some water and If I get hungry, I have a healthy replacement handy But I agree, don't beat yourself up as everybody cheat once in a while but…

Hello I agree with what was said... break it in small objectives and reward yourself with non-food stuff at your milestones (e.g. every 10 pounds you loose). It doesn't need to be a big reward but simply something meaningful to you that would make you happy. NEVER loose track of your progress. Sometimes they tend to get…

congrats !!!! do something nice for you to celebrate this milestone. New clothes, massage ....

Just wondering. Are you eating enough for the exercise you do ? The body is a funny machine that will adapt to what you give it. If you put your body in starvation mode, it will learn to adjust and save every single bit of energy you eat and you will not see much of a weight loss even if you exercise and don't eat much.…

I cannot say for everyone but for me, the week before and at the beginning of my period (depending on when I weight myself), I tend to weight more and it just go back to normal all by itself. I don't know if this is water retention or something like that but this is definitely a pattern I noticed. Having said that when I…

I use 5 lbs like the ones you got and I haven't bulk up either; so I think you should be ok.

Hi, If everything is the same (food, water and all), your body will naturally fluctuate but what I find bizarre is the pattern (120,115, 120, 115, 120) which is consistently going up/down by 5 pounds. Have you double checked your scale ? If you use a gym, you might want to weight yourself there too so you can compare the…

Good morning, For me this month will be a totally different challenge as I'm moving into maintenance mode and ensure that I don't gain back the lbs lost so hardly. When people were telling me that the last 10 lbs are very hard to loose, now I know what they mean but I'm finally there and ready to go to the next stage,,,…

HI, I've lost 82 lbs so a fair chunk of weight in a fairly short period of time (1 yr) so yes, I have skin that is over stretched and hasn't had the time to go back to more normal. I cannot say at this point if this will go back to normal, but I'm expecting that part of it should as I maintain the weight loss.

Happy Easter, You are doing exercise but as someone was mentionning, please do look at your routine and try to break it. Could be doing different exercise and could be eating differently (but still very healthy). I am in the last 10 lbs and believe me, it takes a lot of work to get them off. I've always lost my weight…

Hi there, Welcome here. You'll like it and you'll find lots of encouragement as you go. I could only say again what was mentionned, loosing weight the healthy way is taking some time but it feels sooooo good to see it going down (as opposed to going up). I used to have all my "old" (read smaller size) clothes boxed in the…

good morning, Actually made it back to the gym last weekend so this is pretty good. Now I have to keep it up and not be too busy and make the time for it. Started also to go out for walk at lunch time when it's not raining badly... This is also a good step in the right direction :) March 1st, 158 March 29th 148.5 Missed…

Good morning. I know all too well what you mean and this was exactly my problem until very recently. I'm not an expert at that one but please consider the following. You need to look at your relationship with food. One thing that has worked for me is to ask myself when I really think I want something "Is it really worth it…

Pretty good week, also still not consistent at the gym... just plain good old excuse ;) No time !!! March 1st, 158 March 8th 154.1 March 15th 151.1 So 6.9 lbs so far in the month... pretty happy about that. With exercise would have been better, but definitely no complains here :)
-
Welcome !! I am sure you will enjoy it. People around are very supportive and you find a lot of good advise or just simply if you need support. Good luck and I'm sure you can do it !!! :)

My weight this morning was 154.1... oh my gosh... 3.9 lbs gone :) Not a bad start but I can bet it will slow down. Having said that I'll take what i get right now :) Men do I find the last pounds hard to go... Just don't realise anymore that they are going until I do a quick check from week to week. I think I need to…

Ok sorry, i think i got lazy... catching up. My weight on March 1st was 158.

Don't underestimate walk as an exercise. This may not be as hard as the other one, but it has a lot of benefit and still very nice on your joints. Try to walk whenever you can and be careful with what you eat and you should be in business.
-
Hi, Welcome and good for you to have made this step to a heathlier you. We all need support, and I've been there and not quite finished but if you need someone to talk please don't hesitate to drop me a note... Good luck in your new lifestyle

I agree water for me as well is a challenge. I have to make extra efforts to ensure I drink it (and some days I just don't ;)

Good morning, The week was pretty good from a weight loss perspective but not from the water and exercise perspective. I need more than 24 hours in a day :) Last week : 164.4 This week : 160.9 So loss : 3.5 So need to get back to exercise at least once this week. I know the week is looking crazy for now so don't think it…

Either way, take anything lost as one step in the right direction. You've lost something. Best of luck in your journey and I know you can do it :)

Hi, You say that you exercised as planned and staying within your calorie range... sometimes it just happens we don't shed the pounds as easily but have you looked at your consumption of salt (the real thing and what ever is hidden in food as sodium) also, how about the water, are you drinking much water. Here is my…

Good morning, I"m back to where I was at the beginning of last week... 164.4. I had lost during the week but gained it back during the weekend. Also I got a cold and didn't exercise at all and eat junk food on Saturday evening and didn't get the water either... So time to take myself back on hand and loose those 2 lbs…

Hi, I've Sylvie. Current weight is 164.4 lbs and it's taking more time to loose now but I'm so motivated by the change in me that it doesn't really matter. My challenge. Food wise, I'm doing good overall. It's always a challenge to get the water in (the 8 glasses). Exercise is a work in progress. I'm not doing bad, but…

Good morning, I started at (Jan 4) : 172.8 Last week (Jan 25) : 166.4 Today (Feb 1) : 164.4 So lost 2 lbs this week for a total of 8 lbs since Jan 4th.

I'm no expert, but here is what I've experienced in the past (this time i'm being very careful to be heatlhy). If you don't eat enough, your body is missing calories to be able to functions and will go in starvation mode which may slow you down. Plateau are part of life unfortunately. For example, when you start…
