  • Are you eating at a calorie deficit? I would like to lose fat still doing NROL4W whilst maintaining the musle I have.
  • Me too! I was thinking I'd not done enough when I finished, i'll have to up the weights again next time. I also fell off the swiss ball repeatedly doing jacknives and so did some mountain climbers instead :embarassed: I need to practice that one!
  • Personally if you've got a heart rate monitor that you think is accurate I'd stick with the lower calories of a non work out day and then eat back the calories burned in cardio as it seems more accurate and it does say in the book that the recommended calories are a best estimate. But I don't really know. Has anyone got…
  • I spoke to the trainer at my gym who I do a lot of classes with (which I know isn't the same as a doctor) and she said that it is likely to just be tightness and I need to keep working on stretches which I am trying to do. It doesn't hurt at all it''s just weird.

  • Bump! I'd like to know this too. I don't have a particular problem I don't think but I do struggle to get that far down, my knees always seem to click :frown:

  • I think the wait and see idea is probably best. I also think it is good to have a lot of goals on the way to keep you motivated. I'm 5 ft 4 and my start weight was 210lb so my first big goal was to get from having an obese BMI to being only "overweight". Once I got there I'm heading for the high end of a healthy BMI (so…
  • bump! I'm thinking of upping my calories a bit and doing more strength training. But then other people have suggested cutting calories now that I weigh less so it would be great to hear how everyone else overcame their plateaus
  • @yarwell thank you for the link. So it could well be that I need to ramp up the exercise or reduce the calories to continue losing weight now? So perhaps I should stick with the 1400 but stop eating back my exercise calories - or reduce my calories but eat exercise ones back (more motivation for exercise that way).…
  • @DanaDark so do you think maybe I should be upping my calories but using that extra to get a lot more protein in? @yarwell I eat back my exercise calories though so were that the case I would not have lost any weight yet as I would have been at maintenance calories/no deficit all this time. @erickirb I already eat back my…
  • I eat mine back :) MFP has already built in a deficit of calories for you to lose weight, you don't want to overdo it or your body will not have enough to keep itself going and so could end up holding on to more fat rather than burning it. Exercise is a good way to get fitter and earn some more calories to eat without…
  • Thanks DanaDark. Just having a look at my nutrition reports on MFP it looks as though I get 30 - 60g of protein on average per day, i don't know if that is enough? I check my calorie goals vs what MFP recommends every 10lb or so by MFP has always recommended eating less than I do now and has not yet quite increased to the…
  • I'm in a similar situation although working out slightly less intensely (but at least 30mins a day I'd say) and having not been stuck for that long. I'm afraid I don't have any answers but I'd love to hear more suggestions from everyone.
  • omg what an awesome (and sexy) NSV!
  • I think Nicole makes a good point; you can't know what the future holds and worrying about what may or may not happen only ruins the present. You say deep down you know he loves you, maybe when you feel good write down little proofs and reminders of why u know its ok to show yourself when u feel insecure. That's what I…
  • do you have the MFP app for your phone? I have the android app and this gives me a weekly target so I just aim to stay under that and ignore the daily notes etc. Not sure where this is on the website though. I know some people keep seperate spreadsheets or right the real totals in their 'food notes' on the website. if you…
  • I still try and count them. Generally if I know i'm going to have a heavy weekend I work my *kitten* off in the week to save some calories for it. Make sure you still eat well on the drinking day though or it's messy (accidently made that mistake last weekend lol)

  • i've been on here since early january when I was 210lb (i'm 5ft4 so quite obese) and now I'm almost at 30lb lost - generally about 2lb a week. I eat on average 1400 calories a day (a bit above my BMR) but I, kind of unintentionally, calorie cycle so if I go over one day I don't sweat it I just go under a bit for the rest…
  • i'm sorry I don't know the answers but I am new to weight lifting too and considering getting the book so i'd love to hear the answes. so BUMP
  • that's not something I personally have experienced but a lot of people on here seem to get that so it must be possible. personally i'd swap more inches for less pounds, it's healthier to have a lower body fat percentage and it's more noticeable :-)
  • Friend request sent
  • Hiya, I'm from the UK and have been on here a few months now. I got a lot of chocolate over Easter which is tempting me so I've been allowing myself a little a day worked into my calories and if it doesn't fit into my calorie goal i go for a jog to earn it. Plan ahead your meals for the day so that you can leave some…
  • I've seen a few people on here say that they generally had it one way or the other - they lost a lot of inches for a while but little on the scale and then they had a big scale drop and less inches and vice versa. Not sure how universally true that i but that is some people's experience. If you are losing inches then I…
  • I'd love to give this a go! It'll be good to have some motivation to keep me on track. Current Weight: 184lb Challenge Goal Weight: 160lb 04/09: 184lb 04/16: 04/23: 04/30: 05/07: <<<mini goal weight: 176lb >>> 05/14: 05/21: 05/28: 06/04: <<<mini goal weight 168lb>>> 06/11: 06/18: 06/25: 07/02: <<<challenge goal weight:…
  • I'm interested in the answer to this sort of thing too really. Ideally my goal is more a size and look thing than a weight goal. But i guess it will really vary person to person and even shop to shop. One thing you could do is look on the websites of some of your favourite clothing shops, find out the actual measurements…
  • One thing thought that has kept me going on bad days is thinking about the efforts I've made so far and how those will have been a complete waste of time if I give up now. I also try not to get too stressed about it. With other weight loss attempts and at the start of this i was obsessively counting every calorie and…
  • Sadly I don't think there is anyone in my gym that I can yet out lift our or run but I am working on it  There was a competition at our gym based on the number of 15 minute cardio sessions you logged and i did do an obsessive amount of sessions to win this.
  • bump? :flowerforyou:
  • I am having the same problem; I've lost a fair bit but hardly any inches. So if anyone has thoughts on this I'd also appreciate it.
  • Great post. I think that idea is one of the biggest things motivating me!
  • Agreed. If I realy looked like my profile pic I would have no issues here
