I agree! 2/3 cup is a serving. Not for me. I want to fill my big soup bowl to the rim. Therefore, I avoid cereal altogether. No willpower

I don't eat them as a snack but I do toast up about a tablespoon of almond slivers and add them to broccoli, green beans or brown rice. Gives these foods such a great nutty flavor.

All foods have calories so when you're counting calories, nothing is free. Things like brocolli, celery, green beans are very low in calories and are so good for you and the calories I get from these things, are not what made me overweight in the first place.

I too have done that and almost immediately regreted it. Every meal I used to eat was unhealthy but now, just one bad meal can zap the energy out of me and make me lazy and just overall blah. I can recover from one bad food choice pretty easily but it's like starting over again when I have an entire bad meal or day of…

Songs that make me kick it up a notch are: 4 minutes - Madona & Justin Timberlake Super Massive Black Hole - Muse We R Who We R - Ke$ha

I usually have a 40 calorie sugar free fudgesicle. Satisfies the snack and chocolate craving.

Wow, everyone has their game on this month and is dropping the weight. Congrats! I'm starting off slow for some reason. Having a hard time getting back in the groove. I'm hitting my calories just fine but not being able to exercise heavy is bumming me out. Since I took time off last month, I thought me knees would be…

The other day I put 4 thin-sliced, boneless skinless chicken breast in a backing dish. Sprinkled dry taco seasoning on each breast and then put about 1/4 cup of salsa on each breast. Cooked for about 20 minutes. Drained the excess water/liquid out and took 2 forks and shredded the chicken. Added some chopped red peppers…

Two years ago the doctor put me on levequin for sinus infection and did not tell me about the side effect of tendon problems. I had been taking it 2 days and walked 3 miles on the treadmill. Strained my achilles tendons and to this day they still hurt if I do jumping exercises or hike uphill. I also pulled the tendon going…

First weigh-in for 2011.... Jan 1 - 187 Jan 10 - 184.4 Loss of 2.6 so far. Not off to a booming start for the year but I'll take it. It was harder than I thought to get back in the groove after the holidays but I got it now. On another note... IT'S SNOWING HERE (Charlotte NC) !!!! Office is closed so it's a snow day for…

Like the above poster, I just eat smaller portions than my boyfriend. I am lucky in the fact that my BF will eat anything I cook as long as it doesn't have mayo in it. I usually cook a lean protein, vegetable and starch at dinner. He does like bread with every meal so I use frozen biscuits or rolls and just cook 2…

Hi and welcome to MFP. I'm in NC too, about 20 miles from Charlotte. The members on this site are so helpful and motivational. I joined in August and some of my best friends now are people I met on this site. Congrats on your weight loss so far and good luck with the next 50 lbs. :flowerforyou:

Hi everyone. I'm back for the 5th month in a row. Have made the challenge every month except November and even then, I lost 4.6 lbs. This challenge really motivated me. Jan 1 - 187 Goal - 182 HAPPY NEW YEAR AND MANY WISHES FOR A HEALTHY, HAPPY NEW YEAR. :flowerforyou:

Well, I'm glad the holidays are over. It was so wonderful being with family but the food temptations were crazy. I made the 5 lb challenge though which I am so proud of. Dec 1. 194.8 Dec 31. 187 Yipee - 7.8 loss. I love this challeng!!! It keeps me so motivated as well as all of you on here. I love to here what's…

Popcorn. And not the 100 calorie -98% fat free kind. Tastes too much like cardboard. Popcorn is my night-time snack and I allow for it in my calories. It hasn't kept me from losing weight yet.

I hope everyone survived the Christmas weekend. I was out of control with my eating. Country ham, blueberry sugar cookies, lasagne, cake pops, chips & dip, baklava....it was madness. The only good thing I did was hiking through the woods in the snow for about an hour yesterday. I really enjoyed my sister staying with…

Salad, lasagne, garlic bread and desserts. My boyfriend's family always had lasagne for Christmas and since he can't be with them during the holidays, I thought I'd at least fix his traditional family meal. I'm also preparing a small, healthy, meatless version for me and my sister who is a vegetarian. My family is actually…

Good morning everyone. Well, I survived the 2 Christmas parties this weekend with no damage. Stayed under my calories and the only thing I ate that was on my no-no list was 2 bites of warm, delicious chocolate cake. Well, this is the final countdown until Christmas and I have a million things to do, as I'm sure the…

I've had it several times. NO DRIVING - seriously. Turning your head to the left or right looking for traffic or looking behind you can make you lose all your bearings and cause an accident - happened to me. Go to the doctor.

I have them both and love them both. I burn more calories on the elliptical compared to walking on the treadmill. But running on the treamill burns more calories. I get a better total body workout on the elliptical because of the handlebars (don't really know what they are called). I can go from letting my legs do most of…

I have to be very careful with fruit because the sugar can trigger me to crave more sugar in the not so healthy form. I can't eat any type of fruit for breakfast because then I'm fighting the sugar craving the rest of the day. I save my fruit for the latter part of the day.

Using a salad plate instead of dinner plate for my meals. With smaller portions, my plate doesn't look so empty. Snacking less. I was never a big meal eater but I more than made up for it with my snacking ALL DAY LONG. Now my snack is popcorn at night and maybe a piece of fruit between lunch and dinner. I am make better…

You're not alone. I am colder than usual but then again, we are having an abnormally cold winter where I live. It's about 10 - 15 degrees below normal for this time of year. I hate cold weather. Makes me want to hibernate,

Not sure why they were off center. They were centered on photobucket. Sorry

I hope this works. My tree and my favorite ornament this year.
