My Doctor told me to do the 80/20 method of eating. She said, to stay within your calorie range 6 days a week. Then you have one day you can cheat. I still keep track of my calories that day, but I enjoy Kung Pao Chicken if that is what I want.

I switched to steel cut oats and then a couple hour later eat a protien. It makes it easier to wait for lunch. Then I eat another small snack a few hours later and then my dinner. When I started I was 110 lbs over weight and the Doctor told me I could walk all I wanted to, but becareful not to hurt my knees with high impact stuff.

I found the key is packing my food. I carry my purse and lunch bag everywhere. Nights at a hotel and we give cookies to all our guests. So, I get to stand next to the cookie warmer all night. Even on my days off I have a supply of healthy snacks.

I mix 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup 2% milk, 1/2 TBS ground flaxseed, a few almonds & walnut. The oatmeal is not cooked. Refrigderate over night. In the morning i add fruit and enjoy.
