Congrats on being so close to your goal! At this point, I think you'd be cheating yourself if you now went with the naked weight just to be able to say you met your goal. Keep digging for that extra few pounds and you will be even more proud of yourself!

As usual you will tons of contradictions here. Process it all and find what works for you. Yes, you could lose weight eating all desserts, but they will be so calorie dense, you will be left feeling hungry all the time. There may not be any scientific evidence supporting evenly spaced meals/snacks, it does help a lot of…

160, I'm 5'5.

I agree that it's most likely a composition, not weight, issue.
-
I'll be watching this. I can't seem to hit my calorie goal without consuming too much fat.
-
From your diary, eat more protein and less sugar and sodium. Based on your exercising, keep the weight low and focus on reps. I wouldn't worry too much about a one week gain though.
-
Yep, probably just water since it was that fast. Go with it, but don't be disappointed if you end up with less than a 2lb loss in the coming weeks. Just let the average work out.
-
If you decide to change to mornings and go with the lower weight, be sure to adjust your goals!

I eat a small treat any day that I really "need" it. I don't reward my good eating with bad food, it gives food false power (emotionally speaking).

5'5" 41yo currently at my heaviest ever (while not pregers) 160 pounds. :( Not completely sure of my goal weight. I looked fine at 145, but felt big. Then again, I still felt too big 6 years ago at 120 when other's were saying I was too thin. *shrug* I guess my first goal will be 145 and I'll see how I feel then.

The BMR for a 5'3 130lb female only varies by about 10 calories per year of age. The average would be about that of a 40yo which is 1229. 1500 allows for some exercise. Of course every individual is different, but with the given parameters, 1500 is a pretty fair estimate.

41yo SAHM of 2 here! Feel free to add me.
-
When you are 130 pounds, 1500 will probably be your maintenance intake.
-
I third Quest bars! I'm currently using Body Fortress Super Advanced Vanilla as my post workout "snack".
-
Pre workout food should be high in carbs (like 50+ grams). Hold the protein for post workout recovery fuel.
-
Yes I enter my exercise, and yes I eat those extra calories. My BMR is 1425 and my calorie goal is already below that. If I didn't eat my exercise calories I'd be at like 600 net calories, no bueno. I'd never have enough energy to make it through the day.

I try to look up the nutritional info before I go. If I can't find it online, I ask when I get there. When in doubt, attempt to find grilled chicken and fresh veggies, hard to be bad with those even if you go over portion size.

Get back on! Personally I would try and cut out (or exercise) the overage throughout the week. No worries, don't be too hard on yourself. It happens to everyone.
-
Great job on the loss! Your abs appear more defined to me.

"Arms extended should measure from tip of middle finger to tip of middle finger just 5 feet 5 inches (the height). The length of her hand should be a tenth of that, her foot a seventh, the diameter of her chest a fifth." 5'5" is 65 inches. 1/5 of that is 13, lol!

I have huge legs! 5'5" 160 Measured at biggest point Thigh 24 Calf 16 Bust 41 Waist 34 Hips 42

I'm having trouble figuring out how a person that needs(wants) to lose 40 pounds and exercises 5x/week can have a TDEE in the 1700's. I am 5'5 and 160 pounds. I need to lose 30 pounds. If I put in 5x/week exercise, my TDEE is over 2000! The only way I could get the calculator to give a TDEE below 1800 was to put in…

Biking! Still lets me get the outdoor time I enjoy.

Your muscles are retaining water, that's all.

I keep fat free fudgecicles in the freezer!

Ummm, your progress shows you've lost 10 pounds. In 23 days that's GREAT! I don't see how you can expect any more than that. Keep up the good work and be patient.

Yes you should eat them! If MFP says you should eat let's say 1500 calories, that's what you need to lose in a healthy manor based on your lifestyle. If you burn more calories, you won't have enough for your body to perform at it's peak. Eat too little and your body will hold the fat. MFP can set up your nutritional goals…

I have a home gym full of equipment that I use about a week every 3 months, lol! Good intentions...
