Well, I am being told my results were within normal range. I will ask what the numbers were tomorrow. This time she only tested TSH and free T4. Now she thinks we need to explore other avenues so I am to go in tomorrow to be subjected to a battery of tests to rule out other things. That sounds fun....:grumble: I think I…

I have been hypo for 11 years. In 10 years I only had to increase my medication once and that was at the very beginning. Two years ago my doctor discovered a nodule that was tested and found to be a cyst with a small tumor on the top. All non-cancerous but still grew into a large goiter that was causing swallowing and…

I often wonder that too. I am in St. Augusta so we are not too far away from each other. I am making changes in an effort to lose 60-65 lbs. Nice to see someone from the same area on here!

Thanks for the info! I am definitely going to give it a try this year. I am sure I will love it.

I want to try snowshoeing! I hate feeling cooped up in the winter time. I love the outdoors, even in winter, as long as I have warm gear on and lots of layers!!

Good advice on the "log it before you eat". I may just carry that reminder around with me.

I am in! I fell off the rails over Thanksgiving and I am ready to kick some butt!

The dizzyness and hair loss is due to the low levels of thyroid hormone in your system, not the medication. If your levels are too low you can even pass out. Once the synthroid starts building in your system, the dizzyness will go away and your hair will grow back. Your blood pressure may be low but that will come back up…

The benefits will far outweigh the challenges ahead. You CAN do this. The one thing I always have to remind myself is that you do not have to do everything at once. Start by making one healthy change a week and stick to it. All the changes will add up and you will begin to see results. It all depends upon what works for…

Tell me how that goes. I have always gone to my regular family doctor and wondered if an endo would run additional tests, offer different feedback, advice, etc...

I have the same thing and have been dealing with it for 11 years. I am overweight right now but I haven't always been. It is not impossible to stay fit with this disease but it is harder. Especially if you have a lot of fluctuations in your levels. I lost 60 lbs after gaining weight out of control. It took awhile and I…

Birthday cupcakes at work last week. I said no thanks, she said I really wanted one. We didn't agree but when I came back to my desk, there it sat. I let it sit there for awhile while trying to convince someone else to take it and then finally threw it away in my garbage can. This is not the first time I have had to throw…

For me, it is anything with sugar in it. I am good at work but then I get home and that is a struggle. I have 3 kids so we usually have some kind of sugary treat around. Not much... my daughter has type 1 diabetes so we do keep the sugar to a minimum in our household but the Halloween candy!!!

Job well done! I hope to be where you are soon. Thank you for reminding me that it is a journey and it does not happen over night. With time and effort, good things can and will happen!!

Friend request sent. Looking forward to motivating each other!

Sending you a friend request! I have recently started cooking healthier meals that so far have tasted really great. I would love some more friends for positive support.

I log mine as circuit training. It gets me around the same calories burned. Between 265 - 285, something like that.

Hello, My name is Christi. I just found this group yesterday and I plan on starting this challenge Saturday. I have had this DVD for a couple of years and have not picked it up in a very long time. I enjoy it, even though it is very hard for me to do when starting out. I can tell it works by how it gets easier with time…

My TSH levels were hovering around 50 this winter and I had aches everywhere. I felt like I had the flu. It was awful. Once my increased Synthroid dose started, it took a few weeks but finally receded.

Hello, My name is Christi. I live in the St. Cloud area. I have been a member of MFP for awhile now but just decided in October to get really serious about getting healthy. So far I have lost 7lbs and I have many more to go. I am trying to make small changes towards a healthier lifestyle to fuel my weight loss efforts.…

My worst and most constant symptos are weight gain and fatigue followed by depression. I am a very positive person but the constant fatigue puts a huge toll on my ability to keep in good spirits. Next to that is night sweats. It is not easy to stay asleep at night when you are constantly waking up in a puddle of sweat. I…
