Same plans Karen, leaner and stronger. I don't want to get on stage either, not at this point in my life, won't say never, just not now. I want to see how far I can go with this.

Try to get help, I used a PT. We did a lot of bridge work and stability work to strengthen core muscles.

I lift 3 times a week. So much loose skin I wish I would of started sooner. I want muscles. I see the women figure and physique competitors and think "Wow, I want arms like that." I am lucky that hubby likes a toned look. I just hope I can get there. As for the diet, I get confused too. I am trying to build more muscle and…

My suggestion would be to stop eating out every day and start cooking your meals at home. Looking at your diary, what appears to be a healthy meal at Pollo Tropical (not the Whataburger) is almost 900 calories. I know not everyone has a lifestyle that allows us to cook at home, but planning ahead will give you more food to…

Me...buy a scale, weigh, measure and log consistently....It really does work.

I consider my stretch marks as battle scars. I fought the weight loss battle and won.

This makes sense

Muscles retain water while healing, also what did you eat this week? anything high in sodium?
-
Great goals and similar to mine.

Congratulations. I think you are doing great. I was told once and it stuck with me. Weight loss is not a sprint, it's a marathon. Just keep a good pace. You are making great life changes.

I used the same type of machine. I got 1337. I am glad that other people have low numbers too. My original thought was "Holy Cow, I am glad I can exercise."
-
That is awesome! Congrats.

Great job.

AT 5'5" and 147lbs I would say lift weights. You are a healthy weight range. The older I get and the longer I do this, I find that lifting fixes a lot of our issues.

I am happy to of seen this post. Major problem for me too. I drink a gallon of water a day. I am going to try the water before my coffee.

It really does take less food to make me feel full. I don't know if my stomach shrunk, but I do eat much smaller portions. I don't know if it because I have learned to recognize what full (satisfied) feels like compared to over eating.

Ditto

Weights will help you build muscle and tone. I don't think you are fat. How long have you been lifting?
-
It's not always easy for me. I try to stick to good choices. If I go over in calories I might add an extra session or two of cardio on the days that I would normally skip.
-
That's awesome! congrats.

It's so hard. It is true what they say. This is a lifestyle change. You cannot go back to old eating habits or snacking because the pounds will come back. I have lost and gained large amounts three times in my life. This time it was so much harder to loose. I had to work so hard I am determined it will not come back again!

I had a B-12 deficiency in my blood work. Doctor recommended 500mcg daily. It helped me. Pharmacist friend said it helped me because I was lacking. The body absorbs what it needs and flushes out the rest.

I still see the fat me sometimes. I'm getting better. Every once in a while I look in the mirror and say to myself "wow, I'm not fat anymore." I'm still learning to like me. I love the things I can do. Way more active and get to have more fun being a participant instead of a watcher. This year I got up and danced at the…

Hubby has a membership there. He got it strictly for AM cardio and tanning since it is close to home. He was also able to save money because he can use the tanning bed there and it ended up $10 less per month than the tanning salon. He needs more weight than what they have so he has a second membership. Just depends on…

I saw a post on strong lifts. I don't work with the trainer any more. I had to hire a horse trainer and can only handle one trainer at a time financially. I have a friend and hubby will tweak my techniques occasionally if I am slacking. I

Okay apparently I posted twice, see other post for most answers. I am at a size (clothing and appearance) that I am happy with. Other than needing to drop ten pounds so that I can ride my pony, no I would be happy at where I am now. I learned not to go by the BMI scale doctors use. I know I have muscles. I can see them.

I am bad at technical terms. Deadlifts, chest press, rows, squats and curls. Please forgive me on anything else more technical. I have a gym membership with lots of weights, just don't know what the things are called. Most times when I lift I am sore for a day or two after. I can tell that I wimped out if I don't feel it…

You're not alone Hoyalawya. I have put on 5 extra pounds since thanksgiving. I haven't ridden scout much because of it. I just hopped on the bigger pony. It will come off again.
