By eliminating carbs and eating more protein you could be doing more harm than good. Your body needs carbs. Good healthy carbs like oats, brown rice, sweet potatoes. Not things like cookies, white rice, white bread. You are doing great by loosing slowly. We all want to be thin now, slow is the best way. Keep up the good…

Are you weighing and measuring your food? I do a zumba workout twice a week. It is tough and fun, but I don't think it builds any real muscle.

I don't know what calculations he used. I just used my BMI sliding scale and put your numbers in. We all know this is not the most accurate way of calculating body fat. Now with that being said at 5'8" and 135 the BMI scale puts you at just above 20% body fat. At 5'8" and 148lbs I got a reading of 23% body fat. So I think…

Weekends are tough for me. We are constantly on the move. What works best is if I pack a small cooler with lunch and snack items then we will have a cheat meal at dinner. My favorite things to pack are tuna or chicken salad, with bread or crackers packed separately so it doesn't get soggy. I also like snack pak pudding or…

That is awesome. Fear is our worst enemy. I have a natural fear of heights. I can ride a tall horse I just can't stand stepping on the mounting block to get on. Once on it's easy, I just don't look down. Congrats on a great ride.

Even if it just gets me closer to my goal and not the whole 20, please count me in.

Congrats. What a great birthday present. Maintenance for me is only 200 calories more a day. I am small and have a desk job. So it really depends on you.
-
Congrats! He sounds like a nice horse. Have fun and keep us updated on your progress

An increase in vitamin C will cause your period to start a little early and even some spotting in between. Are the veggies you are eating high in Vitamin C?

when I used to board I would bring slices of pepperoni, granola bars, fruit, and lots of water. I still bring similar stuff with me to horse shows so I have a quick snack at the trailer between classes.

^This is me too.^ My hubby loves to weigh several times a day. Before workout, after meals, before bed, when ever. He is in maintenance and doesn't log his food. The scale helps him decide if he can skip cardio for a day or cut back on the food a tad.

I have the same problem. I am very shy. Will smile and say hi to someone walking by. I finally made a few friends by joining a class. The same ladies in there every week. We chat before, after or on a water break. It's not right to interrupt someone in the middle of their workout. I will usually try talking to them in the…

I got whistled at walking into work. I haven't been whistled at in years. I have been called a beached whale walking down the road, but not whistled at. It sure did make me feel good.

Can I ask what your goal was? Maybe it was too low? Is the doctor happy with the weight you are now?
-
Make sure you drink lots of water. It will help flush out extra sodium, plus the extra trips to the bathroom equal extra steps. LOL

i found that without a digital food scale I was overestimating just about everything I ate. If you don't have one, get one. I didn't really see changes until I bought mine. Best money I ever spent.

You're almost there too.

Thank you. I am so happy to be getting close to goal weight. I have been trying to loose weight since my first pregnancy in 1991

That sounds like fun. A friend of mine is a Level III riding instructor for Mounted Police work. She trains people around the country and has even been to Canada. The training things they do are great. I have never participated but have seen stuff. I really hope you enjoy it and gain some confidence. Keep us posted on how…

Welcome. I like MFP it has been a big help for me.

Okay - I have not crossed my legs in a very long time. I just tried it right now to see if I could. I find that to be a reasonable goal. As for myself - I can cross them now but it is a struggle to keep them that way. Hmm it's the little things that we don't think about with weight loss. I think you got this.

Wow MissMissle - your arms are impressive
-
That is great news. I hope you have a good time riding with the hounds too. Thanks for the update.

Hopefully your car will get there soon. It's funny how horses don't always act the way we expect them too. I would of been a nervous wreck too.
-
Mynameisxena - did you have to bring the horses over by ferry too?

Pineapple will usually satisfy my craving for sweets. I have never been a chips person but I do like honey wheat pretzels. And COFFEE! Coffee seems to satisfy my craving for chocolate.

This is a very accurate quote. and exactly what happened to me.

First - A BIG CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR LOSS!!!! I have had mixed reactions. One coworker (a very heavy one) said I am getting too skinny. That was at 160lbs. My Dad said I was getting to many wrinkles and looking old (I agree). Most of my family, friends and coworkers want to see me reach my goal. I am getting close and my…

Good for you. You got this! :smokin:

I think you did the right thing. I personally prefer a vet. We have a vet that specializes in teeth that will drive around. He does a great job. He is a licensed Vet and I like to use him once in a while when he is having a special. We have dentists in this area that will float your horse's teeth, but if you want them…
