Congratulations! All of us know at least a little bit how hard this must have been and what kind of dedication it has taken for you to get here. Please tell us about how you managed through the tough times and the platoos - any insite would be appreciated! Thanks and good luck!

All in all not the day I'd hoped for but not horrible. I had a slow start to the day and didn't even get downstairs until around 11:30 AM. I decided to pass breakfast and go straight to lunch:) I made a Reuben for our house-mate, and a Reuben for myself - but on mine I only used one slice of rye bread. It was still 619…

Sometimes you can get some great stuff like pita and hummus or carrots and hummus. I've also had deviled eggs (not too bad) and pickles...

about three years ago I started getting hot flashes when I exercised. This past summer I had my ovaries removed and now I have bad hot flashes all the time - especially when I work out. You can ask your doctor about it. My doctor tested me (at the time) to find out if I was in peri menopause but I wasn't - just "luck" ha…

I think I love you!

You're getting great advice! Don't think you are depriving your family just by making foods a little healthier! There is a big difference between substituting low-fat sour cream or yogurt for regular sour cream in a casserole dish verses making your kids eat fake chocolate Easter Bunnies :) Keep taking small steps to move…

It has worked on my dog. Not that this means much but I"m pretty sure that Mrs. Fig isn't under the placebo affect :) We give her this to help with her knee pain. Her ability to go up and down steps is visibly improved when she's on it.

I think the best way to determine that would be do use a HRM to work out with and without the vest... compare your calorie burn - and Please Report BACK TO US! Because I'm curious too! I keep wondering how much harder I'll have to work out to burn the same amount of calories after I lose my "all natural weight vest"

You look so great! And I bet 50 lbs ago you couldn't run for very long eh? I get so motivated when I thnk you your ability to run 5K at a time! You are ON YOUR WAY!!!!

jlb123 - YOU LOOK FABULOUS!!!!! OMG!!!! LOOK AT YOU!!!   (You've lost that extra hour in your hour-glass shape!)

HI Eddie- I work in an office too! Every one eats out at lunch, we go to happy hour every payday - it's tough! Last night I went out with the girls (happy hour) and I ended up eating TWO THOUSAND CALORIES over my daily allotment. YIKES! BUT bad days happen - the key being successful at weight loss isn't being spot on every…

AnahitaCanDoit - welcome and don't worry - even WHEN you get out of the 200s you're still welcome to say here for your entire journey!:flowerforyou: We are here for each other as long as any of us need a little support! I know I sure hope I'm still chatting with these amazing women when we are all in maintenance mode and…

I think the variations in your energy may be due to a lot of factors - diet, exercise, sleep length and quality and stress. I'm so glad you're wearing it every night - the longer you use it the better you'll get at finding ways to sleep without dislodging the mask. Use it for naps too! It will get better! Good luck!

My dad had four daughters, no sons. The family farm is in central Ohio and we always would get the first day of deer season off of school IF we hunted. Thus all four of us went deer hunting for at least a few seasons. My youngest sister and I still hunt- we view the deer as our "free range, organic, grass finished beef".…

Chris - I:heart: love:heart: the challenge! I'll be visiting the university library this weekend to tackle some stairs! Yesterday. I didn't exercise in the morning because we had a guest from dinner sleep over. I didn't want to wake him up by tromping through the family room and blaring the radio in the garage next…

Using my heart rate monitor I appear to burn more calories on the elliptical than I do on the treadmill. My HRM also shows more calories burned on the treadmill than what the treadmill estimates (because I'm not yet efficient?) and my HRM shows that I burn LESS calories than the elliptical machine estimates! Regardless,…

We make a gallon jug of green chai tea (Stash brand) and add a few Chamomile tea bags (slows sugar absorption for diabetics) in our refrigerator. We add sweetener to it when we drink it and it's good over ice or heated up- it's our primary beverage. Keeping it made and ready makes it easy!

I admit I didn't read the other responses (other than Meokk) but I agree - get brown rice where possible and order Sashimi when you can! I eat the raw fish out of the rice ( leave the rice) in about half the roll. I love sashimi - tuna, salmon, scallop - it's all so high in protein and low in carbs its the rice that kills…

I track my sodium intake, but I also keep track of how my rings are fitting. If my wedding band is about to fall off I'm not holding much water- if they're snug I am. It's an easy way to keep track because I'm pretty sure my fingers aren't the primary location for fat deposits and withdraws LOL! I get sausage fingers when…

I drink green tea all day long. I buy it bulk and have at LEAST 8 cups a day! I do NOT have the kind of body anyone would ever PAY to get LOL!!!! I've lost 20+ pounds but only after dieting and exercise (here at MFP) I've been drinking the green tea since 2006. I would say NO. Not so much. Drink it if you like it (I drink…

I saw this in the NYT and it looks so good! The key would be to keep portion sizes small, so only use as many potatoes as you would want each person to eat! Edited to add - I'd just use sweet potatoes! http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/17/health/nutrition/17recipehealth.html Recipes for Health Oven Fries By MARTHA ROSE…

I use it in place of ground beef - I use a little olive oil to help it brown! Fast cheap favorite recipe for lazy nights- 1 can chopped tomatoes 1 cup elbow pasta 1 medium onion chopped 1 tsp pepper flakes 1 clove crushed garlic (optional) salt and pepper to taste Chop and sautee onion in a little olive oil until soft -…

Awestfall - GOOD FOR YOU!!!!:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: I am a BIG believer in keeping a bunch of baby carrots and apples handy - they are really yummy when you are hungry and they take a while for your stomach to break down. Checking in- Calories - OV ER by 350 ish - but I didn't count stairs as exercise…

lildebbie- there will be millions of opinions on what's best for your daughter - listening to people, reading up on it, and then making a choice based on your understanding of the information and your gut is the RIGHT choice! I swear I am so much like your daughter *evilLaughter* and today I'd be fully medicated in…

I weigh myself every day but I also track a five day average. If my five day average goes up I'm allowd to get worried, otherwise I'm on track (even if it holds steady). If anyone wants a copy of my weight spread sheet send me a direct message with your email address in it and I'll send you a copy! I served the lentil soup…

jlb123 - my walking up stairs yesterday and I'm sure today, involves a lot of whimpering. And I'm having difficulty not making the OMG PAIN face which is a bit embarrassing when I pass executives (they only seem to use the stairs going down lol!) I was about to check in then I remembered that I didn't log that chocolate…

My doctor said that as long as the ring goes in - it's fine - doesn't really matter how it's in there. I had to start using it because I had bad migraines if I didn't take my BC pill at the same time every day - the ring is nice and even - very easy for my body to take.

Chris - congrats on the niece! My doctor told me to expect knee pain when I start running. She suggested I use ice packs on my knees after I cool down and stretch - for about 20 minutes, and that I take ibuprofen (Advil etc). She also suggested only running every other day. I haven't really started yet *cough NOT AT ALL…
