This is my favorite thread ever. It might even beat the magic trampoline one.

Didn't need to check her profile, I just had to read her comment. It screams "Privileged white woman".

fat chicks.

I'm going to take a wild guess that you are straight and white.

Be ok with a slower pace. Don't wear headphones, or only wear them in one ear (you need to pay attention to not breaking an ankle). Hopefully if its technical, you have trail shoes.

That's a solid plan for a first half marathon. If you can run 16k, you can run 21k, no problem. In general, for a more advanced half marathon, one would run the distance or over in training. As the goal race gets longer, you get diminishing returns on the length of your training runs. Most marathon plans (even advanced…

Good lord, I hope no one is paying you for this terrible, terrible advice. OP- just take it easy. You're not going to miss the olympics by taking a few days off. If it was just residual sniffles, that's one thing, but if you still have a fever, stay home and rest.
-
Your case is a bit different from the OP (who really has a clear answer). Usually, exercise-induced headaches have three causes: dehydration, salt imbalance, and sugar imbalance. Since you already tried water and carbs, it might be electrolytes and salt. Were you by chance trying a low-sodium diet? Also, being low in…

Well, your problem is not eating enough If you don't want to eat more, then I suggest not exercising as much. Also, half a liter of water isn't really all that much for strenuous exercise. Good luck.

In for a confusing rageflounce? http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1421386-deleted-my-post-heh

You don't appear to be logging your food. Start there. Make sure you are in a deficit. Its no use running 10 miles a day if you eat 11 miles worth of food.
-
wut? What does any of this have to do with OPs experience on the Master Cleanse?
-
Agreed. Someone called the OP an idiot. And MrM27 called them out on it. So why is he the bully again?
-
You want people to have an open mind about consuming nothing but saltwater and lemonade? NO.
-
There is no such thing as a negative calorie food. The calories burned digesting is all part of your TDEE.

Another vote for DC Rainmaker - really great reviews to help you get exactly what you want I love my Garmin FR610- I've had it for a few years now. It probably has a bunch of features you don't really need right now though.

That 'having to think about it and work on it' phase is natural. It sounds like physically you can slow your pace down, but mentally your brain says "eh, might as well just walk"? If that's the case, then the only way to get through it is to force yourself to pay attention and keep that pace. If you don't have a good…

Just as a general rule, asphalt is softer than concrete, trails are softer than asphalt. At the distances you're talking about, it won't really matter. Just don't make the 'too much, too fast, too soon' mistake. Also, if you are training for a race, train on the surface the race will be on. Trail running is much, much…

Oh, I see. I thought you were misquoting the article. My bad, you were just misunderstanding evolution. Tip: if you want to insist that something isn't true, you should at least know what that thing actually says.
-
Well, the article didn't say we evolved from apes, so...not sure where you are getting that. It says our ancestors were ape-like, and then we diverged into separate lineages, which is what happened. But can't argue with someone who is just dead set on an opinion, no matter what reality says, so I guess this is good day?
-
You'll only get jumped on it because this opinion is demonstrably wrong. Evolutionarily, running is what human beings are designed to do. Not sprinting (we're not going to outrun any other animal over short distances), but for long, steady-state running. Sure, people do it wrong, they ramp up to fast, they don't wear the…

dark beers are generally lower-calorie than light, though I'm not sure you want to be knocking back Guinness at the beach. You could go with one of those awful 64-calorie beers, but the alcohol content is very low. You'd be better off drinking a few of something good. http://getdrunknotfat.com/

1. Ditch the treadmill. That should help. 2. Not all of my runs are winners. Usually, I enjoy them on some level (either physical, mental, or emotional), but very rarely all three. I have had what I would imagine is the 'runners high', where everything is clicking and you just feel like you could run forever, but that is…

fat people know they are fat. Morbid obesity is a symptom of another problem. People who are only 'a bit' overweight? Probably just had other priorities for a little bit.
-
Running 9+ miles, breastfeeding, and only eating ~1900 cals a day? Eat more. Specifics would depend on your height/weight/goals.
-
I really hope that poster from 2 years ago found a decent sports bra by now.
-
I generally eat around 2700 cals per day when in marathon training (though that is the 50-60 mile per week range). I try not to eat at much of a deficit, I can really feel myself dragging when I do. As for carbs, white/wheat doesn't really matter, I just make sure I get 1g protein per pound lean mass (works out to 130g per…
