The ultrasound really doesn't hurt. your growth may feel tender the next day. Mine did. The doctors really aren't all that helpful or compassionate from what I am finding. I wish you peace and healing. as for my birthday it sucked. I had no energy and hurt all day.

Thyroid autoimmune disorder. Can't get meds until they determine if cancer is present in the growth I have on my thyroid. Next appointment for more testing is 6 weeks away.

I'm cold all the time as a result of health issues. But after eating, it is a shaking cold. This has made me despise eating. I have lost joy in food, because of it. I set alarms to remind me to eat. It doesn't matter whether the food is hot or cold it still gives me the same feeling. I hate this.

Please see a doctor. Please.

only if it reaches this: Myxoedema coma is the end result of untreated hypothyroidism. The classical features are that of hypothyroidism but with progressive weakness resulting in loss of consciousness. This condition is common in elderly patients and has a number of precipitating factors. The major factors are listed…

My boss's wife has thyroid problems. It was completely missed for 10 years. It wasn't until she had a thyroid storm and an ambulance ride that hers was caught. she nearly died, 4 days in ICU. All they repeatedly tested on her was TSH.

out of pocket to me to get that appointment..$1500.00 not counting a doctor visit to authorize it so I could pay out of pocket. Had to drive 3 hours to New Orleans on top of it to get that blood work and doctor willing to let me.

there's been a big thing lately that a lot of doctors refuse to test more than the TSH levels in some areas. some insurance companies are only paying for that one test. I had to pay out of pocket to get my others tested. Even after the ultrasound showed something off. It was the combination of the ultrasound and a visible…

perhaps it was a growth that caused that FNA. I'm set up for one of those due to a growth on my thyroid. If you only go by my TSH levels, everything is groovy. The others I had to pitch a fit to make them check and they are off to say the least.

Not always. Some people come here first and have no clue why it's not working. So they poke for advice. Without knowing exactly what issues should send them to see a doctor. Just so you know there actually a number of metabolic issues which become pronounced and apparent while one is trying to lose weight. Thyroid issues,…

I haven't eaten potato chips in a year

I had mine tested too. TSH was normal. Yet other thyroid markers are off. Waiting currently to find out if a growth on my thyroid is cancer. Keep a check on it. More protein sometimes helps. I have heard prenatal vitamins help.

Waiting on an endocrinologist appointment to figure out if my nodule is cancer. Really scared. Have had enough blood work lately I feel like a vampire buffet.

I highly doubt weighing 157 for the last several years is an issue. I have read continuously "weigh everything", sort of the point to Iosing weight and keeping it off. I also have thyroid issues. But thanks for your concern. I don't have any eating disorders. I also work 65 hours every week plus take care of elderly…

By the end of that, I was gagging on oatmeal. I stopped heating it up and just mixed it into water and chugged it. I highly do not recommend trying it out. Unless of course your tolerance to oatmeal is better than mine.

You know that saying when you close out your food log...the If everyday were like today you'd weigh X in 5 weeks? I tried it once back when I first joined. I ate the same thing every single day for 5 freaking weeks. That saying is a liar.

I would consult a doctor if after another month things are still stalled and you are logging correctly and getting some activity in your day. Seriously consider that suggestion of a doctor and blood work. There are a myriad of medical verifiable reasons this can happen. The earlier they are caught, the better off you are.

a handful of vitamin supplements, coffee and some eggs.

I have this one. I checked it's accuracy against the calibrated weights at work normally used on an analytical scale. This one is in the acceptable range all the time for the standards a laboratory scale is held too.…

to the person saying thyroid issues are no big deal. come talk to me after you experience clumps of hair coming out. And eye lash loss. these pics are 2 months old and it has gotten considerably worse. All my eyelashes on the bottom are gone now.

um. no. Not really a people person. I developed those habits as a coping skill and a result of things said in the forums here. When all along I should have gone to see a doctor. However, the extreme OCD quirks have helped greatly in getting the medical community to actually listen and run tests, I hope to have answers for…

Your discussions with Chinese food are nothing like mine. I tend to order steamed whatever with no sauce and we bring it home. I have deconstructed the dish of pepper steak steamed into it's components and weighed this out on a food scale. Fried rice is rarity. I can't take it totally apart. I have developed quirks. But on…

desperation over time can lead to things you wouldn't want to know. I labored under false assumptions that it was my inaccuracies in logging, my exercise lacking causing me to not lose the last 15 pounds for 2 years. Have only recently begun to get answers that it is something badly wrong with my thyroid.

I weigh out veggies like sweet potatoes at the grocery store on my food scale, yes I bring it with me. It's a flat black smooth one and looks like an iPad from a distance. It any of the sweet potatoes weigh more than 200 grams I won't buy it. So some weeks, I don't get them, because none are in the magic gram weight. I…

I typically stop eating for the day. but it is all up to you.

what does your Endocrinologist say? His or her advice is a good place to start.

people without it will tell you it is all your fault. people with it, if they are correctly medicated, still might tell you the same. All I know is for me, I'd like to have my eyelashes back. I have no eyelashes left on the bottom part and precious few left on the top lid. I'm just starting the journey to finding out what…
