I'll be 32 next month and am loving it. Though I don't really feel much different than I did at 25 except I'll admit the all-nighters and crappy food in college were easier at 25-29. I'm so much more aware of what I can do and how to do it now! I spent 6 months this year roadtripping New Zealand and am planning my next big…

I'm back on MFP too. I'll be 32 next month and have been in hard denial about how my "grown-up life" has been! It's time to fix it! BTW what is T25?

My slow cooker was my best friend in college! I used to make 1-3 slow cooker meals each week and freeze the left overs in single meal containers (Glad or Rubbermaid containers). Eventually, I built up a good variety in my freezer and had lots soups, stews, curries, stirfrys, etc to choose from when I didn't have time to…

I have found that removing most or all meat, dairy, and processed foods has made my groceries much cheaper! Stocking up on beans and lentils is drastically cheaper than buying meat. And finding recipes based on potatoes, carrots, squash, rice, or other filling and relatively cheap main ingredients help reduce cost and my…

Hemp Hearts and smoothies from Manitoba Harvest <3 :) https://manitobaharvest.com/ BTW they are available on Amazon!

Please double check that your bottoms are not see through and provide appropriate coverage. The ladies at the gym are not the only ones with see through pants. Unfortunately, its been brought to my attention that men don't usually wear underwear with their shorts. We're at the gym to exercise, not to be the involuntary…

You should join the Fitbit group and read through the forums there. Lots of helpful info there!

I've seen Aqua Zumba classes at my gym. If you like dancing, you'll probably like Zumba. And doing it in the pool should be easier on you joints while also giving you a full body workout from the water resistance. Aqua aerobics classes are fun too, especially when it's really hot out!

I've been really happy going yeast and gluten free. I do eat quite a few sweet potatoes, but I also eat more veggies in general now. I also eat more homemade popcorn. I have found that eating out is difficult, yeast is in everything and I never realized how truly bread based the North Americsn diet is. But it gives us a…

It might be best to "hide" the meatlessness of your meals for a while till he gets used to it. I would start with: Chili with kidney beans, black beans, and lots of veggies Veggie stir fries with black bean noodles Quiche with cheese, broccoli, peppers Spaghetti with meatless sauce Spinach and cheese lasagna Breakfast for…

If you're having this many problems and almost fainted... don't you think you should see a doctor?
-
Thank you for posting this! Its very inspirational! Keep up the great work! And the updates! And keep going to the gym, it gets easier once its a habit. Keeping your stress levels and mental health in good shape is just as important as being physically healthy!

Protein bars/powders or nuts? I like the Elevate Me bars because they're all dried fruit, nuts, and whey powder (no unpronounceable chemical names!)... is whey vegan friendly? Taste of Nature bars might work too (http://www.tasteofnature.ca/products/). I think you can still buy them at Costco in Canada. Costco also has…

Can you work with a good trainer or physiotherapist and do some light strength training? Even a gradual muscle gain would help you control your weight in the long term.

Congrats! I'm still working towards this stage. Though I've been off my steroid inhaler for 2 weeks! First time in my entire life! ( I was diagnosed at 2 and am now 29)

I've been told that swimming is the best lung capacity exercise I can do as an asthmatic. Maybe its something to consider for days with bad weather? Or if your knees or other joints need a break.

Hi Peleroja, Thank you for the response! Its very reassuring to know that someone else has done this. I get a lot of nay-sayers that tell me that I'm dreaming of the impossible. I suspected that strength training would help take some of the stress off my lungs. And I know I need to work on my discipline, I'm not very good…

Some light beginner yoga might be helpful for your muscles and balance issues. I find it really helps to do a warm up (elliptical usually) first, stretch after, and always "walk it out" on the rest days. If I don't move enough on rest days, then I become incredibly stiff! Extra water and epsom salt baths are a life saver.…

Is it possible that you're having a reaction to the dairy? Have you noticed if there is a common food you're eating before this happens? (Dairy, gluten, yeast, salt, sugar, etc)

I have been able to decrease my asthma and sinus problems through a yeast free diet. I have found a number of medical journals that link yeast/mold allergies to both asthma symptoms and inflammation (sinuses included). I'm on the wait list for an allergy test to confirm this. I've also read that dairy, sugar, gluten, red…

Today my coworker/friend who is pregnant told me that I'm losing all of the weight she is gaining! Inches included! For the record, I know her and fully believe she meant it as a compliment. :)

Lulu's are the worst now! I have old ones that I love but they don't make a single pair that don't go see through on me now. I wear a size 8 dress pant so the Lulu employees tell me to try the 8 or 10 pants. But even the 12's go see through.. and I can't keep them up. Their quality has been steadily going downhill since…

I know a lady who's husband works out of town so she takes her 3 little girls to crossfit with her. Though that may not be possible for everyone. I believe her facility encourages the moms to bring their kids (they have kid size stationary bikes, jumping ropes, balls, etc). Something like that may be possible for you…

Where are you? I'm not sure if every city/state/province does this, but in Canada we have public health lines that are operated by nurses. It's a great resource when you have a question or need help after the clinics are closed. I would start by calling if you have access to a similar service. You might be able to call a…

Have you tried increasing how much fish you eat first? I like the salmon burgers from Costco and I suspect they would be easier to adjust to than a steak or chicken breast at first. Or lean ground chicken/turkey? You may find it easier to eat a burger, meatball, or chili/soup than a solid piece of meat.

I use a tennis ball as a massager. I started using it to massage my feet from wearing heels, but it works great for other sore muscles. Put the ball between your back and the wall for back pain, or roll it up and down your legs for leg pain. I also agree with the epsom salt bath and stretching/walking. The worst thing you…

Read the book the New Rules Of Lifting For Women. Very helpful! There is a group on MFP for ladies following the workouts. They have some great tips and advice.

Normally I can't keep a cloth headband on, my hair is too thin and fine to hold them in place. With your bob, I have a feeling you will have the same problem. I would recommend trying a Fringe Fighter headband from Lululemon. They are wide across the front but narrow in the back and will generally stay in place for me.…
