  • I only lost about 5 this month, because I gained one week and had to work to lose it the next week, which put 2 weeks out of commission. But I'm aiming to lose 14 more by Christmas! I need to fit into the shorts I bought for Hawaii and Singapore! :)
  • Congrats!!! I think I can get there in about 2-3 more weeks.
  • You look awesome! I'm always very motivated by the before and after pics on MFP. I can't wait to upload my own. I took my Before pics about 10lbs into my loss, AND in my swimsuit (shudder)... So I'll probably wait until 50lbs before I show some progress pics. haha :p Great job! and Keep it up! :flowerforyou:
  • Sounds awesome. I'm going to see about trying it tonight. :)
  • Your best bet would be to invest in a Heart Rate Monitor and add the calories it gives you to your exercise diary. Everyone burns calories differently. And I understand that P90X has quite a bit of cardio in it, which the strength training doesn't really account for. So if I had to chose, I would suggest the calories that…
  • I am close! I'm SW: 217 CW: 204 GW: 130. Add me too. :)
  • I wish I could say that I have a huge garden like all of you seem to have. :) I do have a peach tree though, that produces 40-50 gallons of peaches each September. So I've recently become acquainted with canning. And , btw, Chiptole Peach Salsa kicks *kitten*!…
  • Welcome! I also need motivation to workout. I'm going to start the C25K program soon (Couch to the 5K), but I don't always get up of my rear to workout when I could be. This site is very supportive. I'm sure you'll find many friends to help you reach your goal. BTW, that's an interesting point on the Jenny Craig program…
  • @laciedurfee - I didn't even think about looking for an app. Thanks! I just found a free C25K one on my Android phone. I can't wait to try it out. I'd been using CardioTrainer for my cycling (distance, pace, mph, etc.). But this one looks very cool. Thanks again! I can't wait to start this program. I've even got my husband…
  • Leonidas. Hands down.
  • I've used both in the past. At first I found the elliptical awkward because I didn't understand it, but eventually I figured out the rhythm and it became my favorite machine. The reason I have been leaning towards an elliptical is because it feels like you can change your pace rather quickly from running to walking and…
  • You have to take into account how many calories that your body burns naturally all day. For sedentary people like myself that number is between 2200 and 2000 calories a day. Which means if I eat 1200 calories a day, and still do not exercise, then I'm still burning 800-1000 calories more than I take in. Which should equate…
  • Welcome! :) I'm glad you signed up, and now we can help keep each other on track. I definitely can use the motivation too, since I haven't exercised in over a week AND I had 2 pieces of cake so far today... ugh. :) But I have some clothivation hanging in my closet right now, new shorts and shirts for Hawaii and Singapore,…
  • Welcome! I'm glad you're sticking it out. I'm here to try to reverse the 20+ years of bad choices and cheeseburgers. :)
  • I'm right there with you all. I don't go to the gym, because I don't want to pay for a membership. But I do have a bike with a baby trailer, so I can tow my little one around while I work out. But I get out onto the road and after a while I see all the Plastic Mom's, jogging or riding their bikes, and I'll say Hi or wave…
  • So THAT's why Prime Rib is sooooo delicious! :) Yes, you may not be able to work all of that off this week, but if you stick to plan for everyday after, you may not even notice this little hiccup. Good job on the 47lbs too!
  • Sarah Lee 45 calorie Wheat Bread... You can get it at most grocery stores and Costco now... well at least in Utah.
  • I love my pink Polar F6 and the chest strap, so comfortable I'll forget that I'm wearing it. :) And I love that I now I know when I'm working out hard enough.
  • That is awesome! Your achievement is very inspiring to people like me who have recently joined and need more motivation to keep at it. I would be extremely proud of running an entire mile at 5mph!! Way to go! And keep it up! :)
  • Hi Mom! :) You can cheat sometimes, it's good for you mentally. And if you plan them ahead you won't feel as guilty cheating, as well as something to look forward to. Have you checked out the recipe tool? You can add each of the ingredients for a favorite recipe and it will tell you the calories. I used it to find out how…
  • My favorite is Rumbi Island Grill. Their Jamaican Jerk Ceasar chicken salad is only 410 calories, and it's huge!
  • You can definitely exercise while breastfeeding, but may need to take it easy at first, if you had surgery or any complications during delivery. And like everyone else has said, make sure that you get plenty of water. Add the 500 extra calories you need for breastfeeding to the 1200 calories that My Fitness Pal suggests,…
  • Thank you guys! :) Macarman - I found that list as well. There are some that feel good to me, so I am writing them down to repeat to myself when I don't want to make a healthy choice. :) Darrick - You're right, smaller goals would feel more attainable. I'm thinking of aiming for 25 days of eating under goal AND exercising…
  • Gosh, I hope so! My daughter caught a sniffle last week (her first cold @ 11 mos old), and now I think I have it. I usually comfort myself with food when I don't feel well either, and the urge is strong today. I'm going to make some of my Grandmothers chicken noodle soup, and try to stay within 200-300 of my calorie goal.…
  • No, I'm not using the extra 300 calories because I didn't start with MFP until just this last month, and she's eating more solid foods now and nursing less. I would have if she still 0-6 months and nursing was her only nutritional intake. Maybe you could add it as 'exercise'. I had actually lost ALL my pregnancy weight 10…
  • My vote is for #4 first, and #1 second. They seem to define your waist more than the other two dresses. I have two trips back to back this month and next. Just got back from the 1st one, and gained 2 pounds, and off to the next one on Tuesday. I do not have high hopes for my next weigh in. I'm still pretty new to MFP, how…
  • I've lost between 7 and 9 pounds, and I've only been using the site for about 3 weeks. My daughter is 11 months old, and still nurses 4-5 times a day. However, I have a lot more to lose, since I'm at 208-210 right now. And, I know that for BF moms (who don't supplement with Formula) we're supposed to add 300 calories to…
  • Hahaha, maybe I'll wear my HRM next time. I typed it in the other day and came up blank. It'll have to go under Personal Exercises.
  • I feel like I'm on the opposite side of this argument. My husband has been trying to get me to eat healthier and exercise more for the last few years. And I will try to "diet" and will lose 20-30 pounds, but then I go back to my old ways. And eventually we have another "discussion" about the weight I've gained. My husband…
