I agree with those who said as long as the sugar intake does not stimulate your cravings, you are ok with a small amount even every day. However, for some of us that small amount sets us up to crave more and more and more.....so it's best for us to steer clear.

My answer to that? Well, I MAY have cheated, but I DEFINITELY won.....I no longer struggle to lose weight nor do I lose/gain/lose/gain the same 20 pounds over and over before throwing in the towel. I AM A WINNER!!

When I am craving a sweet, candy-like something, I grab an Atkins Peanut Cluster bar. It has kept my hand out of the Girl Scout cookie box a couple of times in the last two weeks.

I am in and out of maintenance....10 years post op. I recently experienced a 20 pound regain because I wanted to "forget" I had WLS and eat like a normal person; except I didn't, unless normal people eat 1/2 bag of hershey's kisses per day!! I am now back to eating what I KNOW works in maintenance: a well rounded diet…

Plastic surgery costs varying depending on what part of the country you are in. I had an extended TT, scar revision and breast lift two years ago and it cost right around $15,000 for everything, including an overnight at the free standing surgical center. If you have any pre-existing medical issues you will probably…

New to this group but not WLS! My goal for February is to exercise 3x/week or more AND to stay off the scale/weigh no more than once a week. As for the question about ulcers in the new pouch: I've never had one but I know people who have. The number one symptom they have is PAIN followed by nausea/vomitting. When in doubt,…

New to the group and MFP....looking for others who are having the same challenges as I am. I am Marilyn; a 40+ year old at home parent to two teens who had RNY gastric bypass surgery over TEN years ago. For the most part, I maintain my 110 pound loss pretty well....but then, I start to FORGET I had WLS and do silly things…

Another who had her RNY in October 2001.....so, TEN+ years postop. I lost over 100 pounds. Occasionally, I like to "forget" I had surgery to lose weight and when I do I usually gain about 20 pounds. So, here I am at MFP logging my intake and exercise to keep myself accountable and shed the 20 pounds again. No vitamin…

If your calorie intake is less than your calorie expenditure, you will lose weight. You monitor those "other things" because they are necessary for good health. Ideally, the "average person" should aim for a balance. If you know yourself to be "carb sensitive", you might like to keep them a bit lower (and watch the source)…

There's no way I could live on so few calories so close to my goal weight....yeah, I'd be tired all the time, too. According to the RMR calculator, you need that just to lie in bed.

I want to be a cool kid!! Just joined MFP late in January in an effort to lose the 20 pounds I gained since last summer....which was just about the time I stopped my running program. Hoping to get back to that eventually but right now I am doing intervals of running/walking to get some fitness back. I'm the Mom of two…

"Thank you to everyone for the positive feedback and for those negative comments, I think the old saying of if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it! Especially on a support group board! good lord:P " Just because someone doesn't say what you want to hear DOESN'T mean they aren't being supportive. Perhaps the…

Frozen fruit, particularly frozen blueberries and cherries. They satisfy that desire for a frozen treat with healthy, natural sweetness. I sometimes add them to greek yogurt and for me it's better than eating ice cream!

I'm not a weight watchers member but just wanted to say no one gets or stays fat by eating too many fruits or vegetables!
