Finish what you start!

Thanks! It's people like you with similar goals that keep me motivated!

Hahahahaha!! I almost wet my pants! If you get a burnt rubber smell, that's broccoli and asparagus. Potatoes make you gassy too!

Oh... yeah. Valentine's Day... My hubby took my car to the shop and got new tires, an alignment, and all kinds of good stuff! He says he won't get me any chocolates or roses this year, because he spent a large chunk of his paycheck on my car! That's ok by me! I cleaned out the pantry cabinets yesterday and found 2…

Granola bar? Nuts? I like the rice cake idea mentioned earlier! I love the 90-calorie Quaker cinnamon streusel minis. And they also have some delicious chocolate mint ones too!!

I'm definitely NOT a big fan of soy sauce of any form... MFP suggests 2,500 mg of sodium for me, but I try to keep mine lower, just under 2,000 mg. You do need some sodium, but I've never heard of anybody suggesting it as low as 1,600 mg! Is that a minimum suggestion? Where did you get that number?

Wow!! Congratulations!! I've been doing the same... creeping slowly in weight, but my jeans are getting looser! (I never bothered to take measurements... guess I should have!)

LOL!! I just googled the story and it's about a mule!! Hahaha!! Oh, well! Be that wise mule!

Also, a few other high-potassium foods (higher than bananas), in case you go over on sodium: Pumpkin (one slice of pumpkin pie has 100% of the USDA requirement of potassium - great excuse, huh?) Zucchini, squash, and other gourds Avacados (higher still than bananas!) Potatoes Sweet potatoes Just keep in mind that potassium…

I heard a preacher tell this story once. It seems a man was walking a long journey in the rain, got sick with laryngitis, and as it got dark, he wandered through a cemetary and fell into an open grave. Apparently the grave-digger began putting dirt back in and didn't see him (or hear him), and continued to throw a…

Could be specific foods you are eating, or lower sodium causing you to NOT retain water as much... Check out my post about certain foods! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/172759-metabolism-boosters-7-foods-you-need

Wow!! I'm excited for you! Using the dress is a great motivation. Have you been trying to lose weight very long? There are lots of people posting tips on the forums here. Just be safe and do your own research on anything that sounds risky or questionable. My best advice is 1. drink plenty of water, and stay away from…

Thanks, everybody!!

How about, "Sorry, I had to cut my afternoon workout short to get here on time. I can't go over on my calories today."
-
Thanks! I'm still working on reaching for my goal. I've only lost a little weight since mid-December, but I'm still losing inches!

Thanks!

LOL! Doris, I'm usually on the other side of the camera TAKING the picture! Thanks for the encouragement!

Yes!!!! An awesome pair of jeans will be more motivating AND last much longer than the satisfaction of one meal, or even one whole day of "cheating"!

I've never worried about tracking carbs, and I've lost 28 pounds since August. According to MFP, I should have no more than 165 carbs per day, and I'm consistantly over that, rarely under, and sometimes even double that. I would disregard the article, or any other like it that is not backed by a licensed nutritionist after…

A friend of mine used it and lost a lot of weight. He got healthier and decided to go off of it. Now he's gained about half of it back. Weight loss is much more effective, and long-term if you make a few simple lifestyle changes, which can be learned on this site.

We tried this tonight. I must say I'm not a big fan of soy sauce. It smelled terrible to me when it was cooking, but it did taste a lot better than it smelled! We had rice and steamed broccoli with it. YUM!

Yummy!!! Sending hubby to the store for pineapple! We already have the rest! Thanks!!!

These are some great tips!!

Thanks!

Thanks for the encouragement! Such kind words are my motivation!

A friend posted something the other day that really made sense too. She said, "If your food can spoil within a week or so, it's good for you, but if it will last forever on a shelf, it's bad for you."

Great tips!! Let's keep em coming!

Thanks for the bump!

I agree with a lot of people here about the sodium. But the grease can get out of hand too... To cut down on some of the grease, I use a napkin and blot the top of the pizza a little. It will soak up a good bit of it, so if you like meats or pepperoni on yours, this trick will help a lot! I also like the make-your-own…
