cheers for that! I am trying to concentrate on just overall fitness but it's hard not to let the scale effect you when it's been ingrained so deeply in your routine. Thanks for the reminder that the goal isn't the number but the fitness!

in my very non expert opinion I think this ^^^^ is it, a lot of people tend to hold their breath when doing exertion exercises and the constant reminder to breathe is just for that purpose only, to make sure you're not holding your breath. I tend to forget to breath and end up getting dizzy. I really have to concentrate.

I moved from the U.S. to Wales (to study) and then to the Netherlands. I've been here for almost nine years now. If I had to move again, I would like to live in Australia. Realistically we may move to the U.S. at some point to be close to my family but it's nowhere in the near future and I'm okay with that. ;o)

^^^^ this to the nth degree

1 c Fage 0% fat Greek Yogurt 1 tbsp PB2 (or PB2 chocolate) 1 tbsp (or less) honey mix it up and enjoy! I also use it in my smoothies and as a sour cream replacement

I wrote a similar rant after hearing people refer to an overweight colleague as a fat so and so, as if fat was a personality trait, which pisses me off to no end! fat is something you HAVE, not something you ARE! You can read it here if you'd like. http://projectblissful.com/fyi-fat-is-not-a-personality-trait/

I need to shop at Target apparenly, I'm more than an XL (probably 2x) but need a B cup. Not everybody has the boobs to match their butts! :o)

Figuring out how to deal with emotions in an emotional way is difficult when you're a seasoned emotional eater, I know from years of experience. You can conquer it though. Right now you are probably feeling sad, scared and angry at the sudden news of your Grandma (which I am very sorry about. Strength and healing to you).…

I've shared it with several colleagues and a couple friends. They love it!

I just said this to my husband last night, that my belly actually feels softer/squishier. I hope it means it's shrinking and my skin will catch up soon!

It seems like running just may not be the right activity for you, as it seems that it can be fairly detrimental to your health. Since you've only just started, maybe try a few other activities and see if they would be of interest to you. Spinning, bike riding, swimming, dancing... just not running and not outside.

the biggest tip I can give you is to set a more realistic goal. You're only setting yourself up for stress, failure and disappointment with trying to lose 2 pounds a week. What's the rush?

not being smart here, but give it more than 4 days.

I started at 301 and am currently 262. I'm built like you, very pear shaped (only I am small chested). I started out at home with dancing with my Wii, Just Dance 2 and 3 (and now I have 4!). Last February I started swimming and try to do that 3 times a week. I would do the water aerobics classes but they don't jive with my…

nothing is done or undone in one snack, one meal, one binge, one day, one week or even one month. Weight loss is a comilation of all of your efforts over a period of time. You haven't ruined anything, just refocus and carry on, leaving the guilt behind as it'll only weigh you down.

very well done!

The best words of wisdom I have ever read was "if the problem isn't hunger, then the solution isn't food". Dealing with emotional issues in an emotional way, rather than stuffing them down with food, is a tough battle that many people deal with. The key is finding something that works for you. Write yourself a list of…

my heaviest was 301. I'm down in the low 260's now with a goal of being in one-derland and then down to 180 and seeing how I feel then. I'm 5'10 and know that 180 is just a starting point for some! LOL I''ve been over 200 pounds since I was a teen, so reaching onderland in itself will be a huge accomplishment for me.

that is amazing! Congratulations!!!

if you start having joint issues from impact, try adding in swimming and biking. And yes, start strength training now.

Amazing work and dedication! Well done!

amazing work! And I think it's funny how you went from Disney to Army! :o) Well done man. You should be proud!

amazing, amazing, amazing.

Congratulations! I can't wait to be just overweight. What a freeing feeling. Good luck with the rest of your journey!

you look years younger! Congratulations!

I'm following this post because I am the same way, almost into regular sizes on top but a far cry away from not being plus size on the bottom.

Read the book "Mindless Eating", it's a good, quick read and has loads of helpful tips for stopping... well, mindless eating. :o) Good luck!

It's actually something that I practice ahead of time, in situations that I know I will run into food pushers. There are a lot of ways that you can approach it but you have to find one that works for you. I find that saying "oh wow, thanks but I just finished eating my snack and am stuffed" is a good way to start. Some…

This. I had fought the same battle since childhood. Only with help of therapy could I get a grip. At the center I went to they also suggest (for after my therapy was over) that I find OA in my area.
