In for the borderline humor. My streak hits 420 tomorrow, my diary is open and every meal is there. I'm losing weight slowly this time so I can keep it off.

If your doctor uses one of those old fashioned scales, it could be off by a lot. Size 12 to Size 8 is a significant loss. Be proud of it and keep going! Lately, I noticed some older people that didn't take good care of themselves and I don't want to end up like that.

Howdy! My diary has been open for over 415 days and I every meal is logged.

I feel for you OP. Early 20's is a tough age. You're expected to work your tail off, but you don't have a lot of money and you still want to go out and have fun. It does get easier as you get older and there's a good chance you'll meet someone when you're not looking. I recommend focusing on your professional goals and the…

My diary is open and I'm at 411 days. I've lost 30 pounds and I want to lose 25 more. I'm always happy to add new friends.

I just reached a year of no soda too. Before last January, I had at least one or two diet cokes a day without fail. I feel like it's one of the best things I did. I only drink water, tea and coffee now. Since I quit, I get fewer headaches. The first 3 or 4 weeks were tough, but I got used to it. I thought the movies would…

I've been on the roller coaster many times. Last year, I lost 30 pounds. Not a lot, but I've kept it off so far and I took my old pants to Goodwill at the end of the year. My MFP streak just passed 400. I log everything. I focus on weekly totals, not daily and I weigh myself once a week. I hit the gym 4 times a week. I eat…

I guess the Mediterranean diet isn't as good as advertised. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Same age and type of workouts as prattiger65.

My streak hits 400 days Sunday and my diary is open. Feel free to add me.

Hi OP, Since money, time and knowledge of exercises is an issue, how about body weight exercises or yoga? There's a series on YouTube called your body is your gym or something similar to that. Resistance bands are also a good option.

If you can self medicate with exercise, instead of food and alcohol, you'll be on the path to good health and a better emotional well being. Once you get comfortable walking, you may want to walk around your neighborhood. Maybe you'll meet a neighbor you can walk with. Another way to kill time, burn some calories and…

Mine is open and my streak is at 395.

Outstanding and inspirational! Keep up the good work and congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Milk, potatoes, sweet potatoes, oranges, beef, salmon, most fruits and vegetables.

I lost 30 pounds last year and took 8 pairs of pants to Goodwill a week ago. I'm close to 400 days logging. I want to lose another 25 pounds. Feel free to add me.

I'm on the same workout schedule. I try to walk on the off days and sometimes on the workout days too. I do the walking for a little extra cardio and to clear my head during the work week. I do like the yoga idea too.

Does this mean I can stop trimming my nose and ear hairs? I told my family I'm going to let my nose hair grow long enough to tie a bow under my nostrils.

Avoiding diabetes keeps me motivated. I really don't want to have to poke my fingers to check my blood sugar.
-
Look at my diary if you want to see what a net of 2,000 calories looks like. I eat 5-6 times a day. Be thankful you're young and I hope you succeed in your goals.

Someone at my gym works out twice a day every day and he has an awesome build. Go for it!

Could be blood pressure and/or related to electrolytes. Definitely should check with a doctor.

I stopped wearing headphones except for the treadmill, so I could make friends at the gym. Sometimes I might ask someone about an exercise they're doing or just comment about something going on at the gym. Asking to work in can be an ice breaker some times. If someone seems to be free, you could ask them to check your form…

I haven't done heavy singles in a while, but I estimate I'm in the 950 range at 49. When I was younger, I got over 1,100. My PR for bench is 305 and squat is 405. I don't remember my pr for deads, but they were always better than my squats. I did the squat at a 24 hour fitness in the cage with no spotter. I could feel the…

There's another benefit of lifting weights that I haven't seen mentioned, improved bone density. Be sure to get your recommended calcium because weight lifting will use it up.

Congratulations on losing 53 pounds. I'm losing about half a pound a week, while getting stronger at the gym, so I can confirm that it is possible to lose weight and get stronger. I set my macros at 40/30/30 so I still get plenty of protein.

The OP lives in Merced, CA. I did a Yelp search and there's not a lot of options that come up for gyms. The best option might be using the UC Merced facilities, if that's reasonable. The next best option may be going to a gym in Modesto or Fresno, a good hour's drive. Adjustable dumbbells might work in a small apartment.…

Torrance, CA. We have a giant rubber duck in our nearby harbor. We can see it up close for $4.00. Over 277,000 people visited the duck this past weekend. The duck's visit was extended for a few extra days.

Wow! Lots of good back and forth going on here. This is the first time one of my posts ended up longer than 1 page. I use straps a lot. I'm 49 and I haven't deadlifted in a while, but I may start doing it again. I've tried to build up my grip strength from time to time. Eventually, I get blisters under my callouses and it…

Great job! Very inspiring.
