This. Asking her to change isn't going to do much other than annoy her. Helping her out by making a meal or two a week will show her that you care AND that food can be healthy and good.

Are our husbands the same man????

This is totally me.

This is spot on. Staying within the calorie goal isn't going to matter if you are always hungry because the food you are eating is calorie dense and nutrient poor. Start with some small shifts and then keep going - never stop improving.

^^^ This ^^^ Because they STILL make me laugh.

You can change your settings for the percentage of carbs/fat/protein. Just go under "Goals" and then "change settings". I currently have mine set at 40% carbs, 30% fat, 30% protein. I used to think I was somehow eating too much protein (as a vegetarian?!?!?!?), but now that I have my macros set correctly, I see that I'm…

I know they are *trying* to make a joke, but (some of) the men's comments on this thread are kinda disturbing. Like somehow it's OK for men at the gym to behave this way and that we, as women, need to be less uptight. NO. Next time, call the guy out. Make him feel just as awkward as you do when he is obviously staring at…

Excellent article - and website in general. Thanks so much for posting!

No kids, but yesterday I was really wishing I had one for my husband. We were at the State Fair and he was a bit tipsy (read: *wasted*) and kept wandering off. Not doing anything wrong, just wandering off. Which means I spent most of my time looking for the guy. A leash - or a stun collar - would have been very welcome.

I know what you mean. My dad is diabetic - and gluten intolerant. And my husband and I are vegetarian. Whenever he comes to visit, it's a struggle getting together enough food for him with the right compliment of protein and carbs, still have it be vegetarian, and have it be gluten free. For the record - he's Type 1…

*This* But honestly, I don't get the whole excessive shaving thing (man or woman). There's def a point to grooming, but the whole pre-pubescent look really creeps me out.

*This* Since I cook most of our foods, I prefer adding my recipes rather than guessing or using the "store-bought" version of things. It is especially nice when you cook large meals and then have leftovers that you want to use for lunches.

Leslie, is the coolest, sweetest, kindest, most compassionate, caring understanding person. She has been through so much in life, but she keeps on going, and anyone who meets her is lucky if you become her friend. (n)a. An incredibly beautiful girl. Someone who is very attractive with the best hair. See wonderful. The most…

Started at 189, down to 176. Goal is 150 (1/3 of the way - woot!). I'm not sure if I will be able to do it (I've got a pretty large frame), but if so, it would be pretty cool. Mostly I just want to get rid of the belly fat and tone up. The husband and I are going on a cruise in December - it would feel pretty awesome to…

Try this: http://www.amateurgourmet.com/2008/11/the_best_brocco.html You will be amazed that broccoli can taste this good. The husband and I bought one of the big bags of broccoli from Costco (3 lbs of florettes) and it filled up 2 of our big cookie sheets. We each ate 1/4 of the roasted broccoli. So if 85 grams = 1…

Liver and onions nights would find me still at the table when the news came on (10:00). Then it was off to bed with no dinner. I was the youngest of 3, so there was no pandering because if 1 of us got our way, then all of us would want something different. Not to say that my mom didn't also make our "favorites", but we…
