Makes a big difference if your appendix ruptures and you get peritonitis. If you have other medical problems on top of that you could be in for a long haul.

I think what your doctor might be concerned with is that when you are sick your metabolism changes and you burn calories differently and quickly so he/she may be concerned that you will become debilitated by trying to loose weight while you are ill. I see no reason to stop logging and keeping track but be aware that what…

The great thing about yoga is that it is non competitive. Everyone will be at a different level and you work to your own level of ability no matter what that is. If you choose to join the class in the middle that should be ok. If you use a DVD I would suggest someone like Linda Arkin. She does a lot of explaining. Stay…

I do. Even Tic Tacs have calories.

Agree. If you are not symptomatic plod on. As you become more conditioned your rate will slow down. Just watch for any of the symptoms described and stop if they occur and make sure you stay hydrated.

This one is from Prevention. 3 10 min workouts that run consecutively for a total of 30 min. It is a combination of yoga, pilates and ballet. It is amazingly difficult but keeps your interest. http://www.prevention.com/workouts-raise-barre

I either pour it out of the measuring cup into a bowl or just eat out of the measuring cup, wash it out and stick it back in the sink for my next meal. I do use the scale a lot also.

Using the coconut oil is a really good option. Do you put it in the bag solid or melt it first before popping?

Don't worry about going over in your protein. Of course if one number goes up another number has to go down so it will either be fat or carbs. Might want to track your sodium also and that can sneak up on you and nail you when you least expect it.

I have always had dogs and worked for 45 yrs. They sometimes had to stay alone for more than 16 hrs but always greeted me with love and affection when I came home, ran outside and peed and then dinner. When I had 3 dogs 2 had to be caged seperatly because they might fight but they never had any accidents. The dog I have…

MFP buddy and I were just discussing this issue. This is how I understand the net calorie issue works. Lets say you have a daily goal of 1200 calories. That signifies the amount of calories you burn with normal daily activity based on your wt, age, gender, ht etc. So, for example, I ate 1303 calories today and had 528…

Don't forget nuts and beans as protein source. Be careful with unregulated protein supplement powders as some have been found to be contaminated with heavy metals.

This and here is a note I came across yesterday re: same topic: If you want to lose fat, a useful guideline for lowering your calorie intake is to reduce your calories by at least 500, but not more than 1000 below your maintenance level. For people with only a small amount of weight to lose, 1000 calories will be too much…

I could feel your joy. Your writing style is wonderful. You conquered your demons and a mountain. Wonderful.

Hey, you could also wear it as a swim suit LOL

This but not outside. Sorry, just don't think it is very flattering.

All good advice. Need to make sure there is not a medical issue r/t your bradycardia and you should open your diary so people can see if there is any other help they can offer.

Yes, Toledo back to Michigan but don't give up the UP. I am in Michigan, my son and his family in Columbus and he went to school in Bowling Green and I went to school Cincinnati. We have it all covered. LOL

Unless you have some cardiac illness causing your bradycardia or you are on some medication that is causing it your heart rate should still increase with exercise and you should still burn calories if the burn is more than your calories in. If meds or heart disease is causing the problem the exercise may be too much for…

I am assuming you are talking about yoga and for that I use a very thick carpet that I have in my basement but I always put a yoga mat down as some of the yoga postures are hard to do if you don't have a rubber surface to keep from slipping. It is uncomfortable to do some of the floor postures on a hard floor and the yoga…

Agree with this strategy. If you are in a hurry in the AM cook up some hard boiled eggs for protein on the go. You can mash it up with a tlbsp of mayo and 2 pieces of toast and that will hold you for a while. If you have a little more time you can cook something else or find a high protein cereal and add to yogurt.
