I don't drink enough. My mother doesn't drink enough. The only time it becomes a problem for me is when I get dehydrated (I can tell and so can my kidney doctor who tells me to drink more water as does my gastrointestinal doctor... sigh). I stay hydrated through coffee (lol) and teas and stuff. If I have a giant glass of…

@motivatedmartha Thank you! I admit, my hands were shaking a little at the strange situation I found myself in... trying on both shirts in the washroom over and over. XD

Woah. Work was giving out swag for our event tomorrow, and I had to grab an XS. I literally had to go into the washroom and try both the S and the XS to make sure I was correct. The XS is fitted more (little more rubber ducky showing than I'd like) but it fits. Part of me is like, lol, these sizes are whacked. The other…

People do this?! That's horrifying. Who has the time to look at someone else's diary anyway? I sure don't nor do I care (unless they're talking about an amazing dish they made or a product they tried but that's usually on the feed, not the diary). This kind of behavior is why I can count on one hand the friend invites I've…

I'm glad this was bumped. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your story for both the attitude and perseverance you show, the successes you've had, and the journey that got you to where you are. Thank you for sharing and congrats on the fruits of all of your hard work!

Every day is rarely the exact same. I don't complete my diary because I don't like seeing a message that's more myth and fable than a work of nonfiction art. I use a trending app (Happy Scale/apple user, but I think Libra(?) is the one for android) that trends my daily weigh-ins and I get a better trajectory of where I'm…

Good luck! More than any motivation, good habits and perseverance will see you through any bumps along the road. You're amazing for changing your life as change is often the hardest thing about making a difference. Wear out your trails and find new ones to blaze in this adventure called life. Always remember, don't try to…

Congrats and good job!! :smiley:

@Vonny198334 I get comments like that at work now. Just about everyone that knew I was heavy have left the company. So now, people make observations thinking I've never been obese, and it's strange. At first, I corrected them, reminding myself in the process, that oh no I was very heavy. Now I do not. I am proud of the…

@VUA21 Rockin'! Congrats!!

I am lazy. My natural state is slug-like playing games with bursts of high energy activities of FUN. I have a pretty tolerable neat (I'm jittery at work). I don't consciously go to the gym as a normal state (though I've been known to be prodded for building muscle with weights when a friend drags me out), so I don't factor…

My mother has MS and she got all of this and more back when they were trying to diagnose it as a child. She was told that her debilitating chest pains were her imagination and sent her to a psychiatrist. Diseases where there is no visible ailment or handicap are the hardest for people to be sympathetic to. I once had a man…

I used all kinds of Fitbits over the years. Then I got an Apple Watch, and by the time I really started comparing steps, I did not notice any kind of distinct difference between the two metrics. Any shift became my new norm, but in general, my watch and my Fitbit were pretty close.

I hope you find the right solution for yourself! When I first started, I really had a hard time giving up all the super sugary coffees and the sugar / milk in my coffee that was mainly sugar and milk. I also disliked 99% of vegetables, loved 99% of fruit, and despised anything with certain textures. I was SUPER PICKY about…

Aaaaaah!! Congrats! That is SUPER EXCITING! I love your spirit. :smiley: Listen. @Evelyn_Gorfram NO CAPES. ;) THEY'RE DANGEROUS. IF YOU MUST THEN WATCH THIS EDUCATIONAL GIPHY /brought to you by Edna, master of costumes

Mmmmmm, aspartame. Deeeeeelicious. :smiley: This comment made me giggle. What works for me, won't work for someone else and vice versa. So when someone tells me that I won't lose weight if I don't eat breakfast, I smile, nod, and move along. My entire life I never ate breakfast. As a kid, I was a beanpole. As a young…

Everyone has given good advice here. Personal account: I've gained a whole 2ish kg in the last week because I am weak to staying up too late and my stress level has been high. Past me likes to punish Future me with poor decisions when it comes to "just one more quest" and "but we're almost to the next area"! This week…

@KnitterNotAQuitter YAAAAAY DRAGONCHAIR!!!!

Aaaaah, the jewelry maker in me has itchy fingers to fix your necklaces. If only portals from one part of the world to the other existed! I hope you find shorter chains! What I would look for are normal chains but with larger links on one end meant for extending a necklace. But you're right, the links will have to go…

This thread is the best. It has certainly helped me reconfigure what "normal" really is and given me hope that I am not, in fact, made differently than anyone else. In my head, I always thought/expected that pants were supposed to fit a certain way and because of some of the extra fat on my hips/back/some in my stomach,…

However much you have to lose, the only way *you* will be successful is after you sit down and have an honest discussion with yourself about the goals you want to achieve. Also, how *you* want to live the rest of your life. For me, that discussion went along the lines of "I want to like more food" and "I don't want to do…

Congrats!! Such an achievement!!

How much you lose is dependent upon how much you weigh. When I was in the beginning, I'd lose anywhere from 24-32 lbs in a 3-4 month period (roughly, averaging about 2lbs/week). But as I shrank, that number shrank as well. Now, I'm good to get 12-16lbs in a 3-4 month period and soon enough, I'll be looking at half that…

You speak my language there! When I am closer to maintenance and the margin for error gets narrower, I imagine I will be playing with numbers. Good luck to you!
