  • I started mountain biking in Dec 2021 (after losing both of my parents over the 2020-2021 year) with an e-MTB. I fell in love. For the first time, I have a sport that I enjoy doing, that I want to do, that gets me out in nature and gets me moving. I got my enduro MTB in March of 2022, and got my XC race MTB bike in Apr of…
  • My dragon ate me. In 2019, I was set to reach my goal. I was in peak performance. Excited, happy, and feeling so good. Both mentally and physically. What I didn't know is nothing in life is certain. I didn't know that you could slay the dragon, claim to have won the game, only to have the end surprise you with a nasty…
  • I didn't expect to have to need a new desk chair. I didn't get an especially big one or anything, but now I can't seem to comfortably use both armrests (arms are too far apart to be comfortable) and I'm not sure where to go to buy a comfortable chair that's narrower? Idek. Me and my cat can comfortably share the chair so…
  • @AlexandraFindsHerself1971 https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/ --> that place seriously opened my eyes to bras (US bras are terrible for sizes). As a small-band/large-cup girl myself, I had to rethink how I get bras. (No easy peasy lemon squeazy shopping in mall stores for me!). For the budget minded,…
  • that is AWESOME!!
  • You won't!! Wear 'em a lot. They'll remind you when you're like "maybe I can have this?" and then the pants will be there to remind you and say, "why not save that until you have recovered the ground you lost!" My first pair of dragon pants, the ones I'd outgrown shortly after getting them that are now 2 sizes too big...…
  • The ocean swells and ebbs all the time, unless you're in a tiny boat in the midst of a storm, you wouldn't even feel it. Don't let the ups get you! Sounds like you've got a plan! Take care of yourself and I hope you and your family continue to stay healthy!
  • Wow! Amazing!! Congrats!!
  • @ceiswyn As always, what an inspiration!
  • @Elystriel First, congrats on your loss! Second, what a cool idea, I'm going to try this! Especially since it's the cold season right now, and while I am not usually a snacker, I find I want more warm things. Something hearty tasting to wrap my hands around sounds amazing. And also, I just love soups. XD
  • When I was losing the bulk of the weight, I stuck with one brand of jeans. Because you're right, it is so much easier to determine when it's time to go to the next size down if you're not always dealing with "this one is cut this way, this one is cut that way, etc, etc." It is only now that I've branched out (I only have…
  • You are an inspiration lady!
  • IMO, clothing really shouldn't be this confusing. *shakes fist*!!
  • Also, it seems to be based in the origin of the 16. When I had moved from 16s to 14s in Lane Bryant and decided to brave my first "non-plus" store (JCP) only to have the 14s not fit at all and the 16s be snug. It was shocking because previously it had felt that 16s were big! That's the point I realized that 16s in non-plus…
  • Congratulation@bmeadows380! What an amazing achievement!
  • I feel ya. I have so many years to make up spent hating clothes and only have a handful of things that didn't make me happy. XD I'm close to my final size (I am p. sure since I only have 8kg to go), so it's even HARDER not to buy all the things. XD
  • I stopped seeing holidays as “special permission” days. Instead, I treat them as I would any other day: if I overeat, I just log it and move on. There are rando weekends when I overindulge in something, too, and to me holidays aren’t different than that. Just days where I might indulge more than I would normally. Sometimes…
  • I don't have one meal a day as a rule, per se, but on the weekends I tend to be lazy about eating. I also tend to want to have a high-calorie coffee with my meal (pumpkin spice frap, I'm looking at you). So I have a habit of saving my calories for when we go to dinner (which usually ends up around ~4pm). Since one of them…
  • Oh wow that sounds awesome! I like your style.
  • @asthesoapturns Good job! And to add... your before pic is THE LITERAL BEST HAIRSTYLE EVER! XD XD
  • I have recently discovered Poshmark for cheap stuff and I bought a pair of shorts in my size that I wear from the brand, but they were definitely not quite the same size. The difference between 100% cotton and jeans with elastane is the difference between feeling on top of the world and facing the reality that you still…
  • Yeah!! I just recently discovered them. I will definitely be trying them out. Thank you! (PS: supported while swimming is the best!)
  • My wrists are small enough now that hairbands fresh out of the package only leave a vague red impression (everything leaves an imprint in my skin) rather than a deep welt! And I can spin them around easily. I remember when hairbands would choke the life out of my wrist, so it's a nice NSV, this!
  • I can relate to this. Especially, the complacent part when I'm sitting here debating whether or not I want to eat these M&Ms despite having had a relatively higher calorie day. It's easy to forget where I was when the now is so very present. I still have more to lose, but it's harder now.
  • Best Feeling Ever!
  • I totally vet weirdos. I accidentally accepted a weirdo and now I worry too much about being mean to unfriend and so I sit in a conundrum of "omg but this is awkward but omg now what do I do and omg I don't' wanna be mean but omg." Since I am far too passive IRL. The few people I've friended (handful), it's because I…
  • Apple Watch and MFP handle data differently, and I noticed that passive activity wasn't syncing as precisely as I wanted (workouts were fine). So I went digging for an answer (just in case I was crazy) and found Pacer. I sync Apple Watch -> Pacer -> MFP, but that's only to give me a general idea and for data tracking. I…
  • Same. I've lost about 46-48kgs (~101 - 105lbs) depending on water fluctuation at the time -- and my clothing size has changed drastically. I always think I must be lying about my size, especially with still 5-10kg left to go (I'm taking it day by day, really and will stop when I feel comfortable). The reality is... I send…
  • Same here and while I don't fold my underwear, I do fold my socks. I got these little in-drawer containers for my underwear and they are sorted by style and fabric (ie, the fun ones and the not-fun-ones). XD I learned a lot from Marie Kondo!
  • This is so me. XD My husband has gotten used to me stopping to take a million pictures. On the bright side, I have some amazing pictures that I will someday get printed on metal to hang.
