I've suffered from vascular migraines since I was 12 years old. I either had migraines to prolonged vertigo (once it lasted over a week). I rarely had painfree days for most of my life -- though since dealing with the celiac, the migraines have gotten better (less frequent). Instead of 1-2/week, I get 1 every 1-2 months.…

I especially need to hold this close to heart as things sloooooooow down for me and it starts to feel impossible (had some troubles this week; working on mental feels rn) to reach my goal despite progress forward... but slow progress can feel like no progress!

Good luck, @NovusDies , on your test!

I use the measuring tape to know when I've lost inches, but also to remind me that I've not gained inches when the scale fluctuates. (Ie, this weekend, I had a calorie dense weekend and so I'm up 3lbs, but I did a quick check of my measurements and they're all the same. It helps me keep my sanity. XD)

I'm naturally inclined to be more sedentary, but I also fidget and bounce around a lot. So I suspect I have a high NEAT, but, outside of my natural jitteriness, I don't actually do a lot of purposeful exercises. I don't really go to the gym much. Knowing that moving is good for my health, I walk at lunch and listen to my…

@maiomaio71 I'm glad it helped you!! You are most welcome!

That is awesome!! Congrats on losing!! What a milestone achievement! Good luck on the rest!

@NovusDies I'm glad you got some good news! Home stretch!

So, I almost posted this in the "Share your Numbers" thread, because it is related to my post in there. I wanted to share some of my graphs because I think it's important to make sure to take a step back and look at things from a bird's eye view. In the day-to-day, it is easy to lose sight of the forest for the trees.…

@hansep0012 You are welcome! I wish I had kept better data back in the early years, but it is what it is. Nowadays, I am fastidious about my data. Luckily, I have always been an every day weigher, so I have that historical daily weight data over the last 7 years. GOOD LUCK!

As mentioned before, I have spreadsheets of my data. One of those spreadsheets includes historical data for the inches I've lost. In the beginning (2012), I didn't take that many measurements. Since 2018, my precision has increased, but what I can compare between 2012 and 2018 is a smaller subset of those inches. I take my…

My goal weight is 55kg and I started steering my ship in this direction in 2012! I am close now, so my hope is to hit my goal in the first quarter of 2021. I’m okay with slow; I knew nothing of how to take care of myself so I’ve learned a lot along the way. Most important of that we’re what changes were needed for…

I’m excited for boot season too! My legs are the part I’ve always been self-conscious about. Last fall, I was able to wear my boots but they were super tight. This fall, they are are NOT and I’m so excited. I suspect that the last 15 will come mostly off my legs as it’s the first to gain and last to go. -.- But there’s…

Congrats!!

@motivatedmartha Hug! I wouldn't want to slog through mud either, but maybe a fun pair of loose rain boots that you can jump in puddles in? Your coastal walks are so pretty! I will be here, cheering for you to get to your goal by January! You can do it! Thank you! I am hoping that I reach goal by February, but we…

Congrats!!

Last winter, I was able to wear my knee-high boots again and I was SO HAPPY! I tried them on (as Fall is right around the corner!!) and they fit even better now. No longer snausage squeezing my calves and turns out, one of them was more of an over-the-knee boot that never had enough give to get that high. Who'd've…

Yay! You are well on your way to taming them dragonpants, @hobbitses333! Congrats! :D

What an amazing story! Congrats!

@NovusDies I've worn spanx (maybe similar?) and it did not change my size at all, really. It kept everything smoothed up, but you won't see a massive size difference between spanx and non-spanx (in my experience). I've had a couple of friends on my feed who went through stomach skin removal and I think the first month or…

@NovusDies I agree! It is invaluable to have all of these perspectives, yes! Everyone has the chance to discover something that someone else is dying to know but doesn't know they need that information. At work this is my motto: No matter what level I am, no matter what knowledge or experience I have, I can learn…

I concur on the lots of photos comments! I've loved all the colors I've chosen (I love my natural too, but hey, gotta see what it's like with other colors too!). That picture is cool too!

@hansep0012 That's awesome! Congrats!

Hair grows back! That's my motto. You get to live once. Try it! If you don't love it, then it will grow back. Short-short hair doesn't interest me (I like it long enough to do stuff with), but I've colored mine, cut mine, went blond. Went pink and purple. Went deep purple. Went rich, deep red (my natural is red/blonde).…

That's why I just think of 'diet break' as choosing to enjoy the special moments of my life. Call it what you will: terminology is meaningless to implementation and how we implement any of the tools is personal to the road we're on. For me, I'm okay with calling it diet/lifestyle/whatever: I'm working to change it. I've…

BOOTS! Last year, my knee-high boots fit but were tight. Fall isn't *quite* here, but I thought I'd do a spot check. Boy, do them babies fit so much better now! So I'm super excited to wear my boots this fall! Also, turns out, one pair was *over* the knee boots and I just never knew it cause I couldn't squeeze them that…

I was never interested in "taking" a diet break. I'm pretty focused, pretty tolerate of my internal will and driven to outcomes. However, instead of a "diet break", what happens is naturally in the month of June, I eat at maintenance. This isn't to "diet break" but because June is my month. Not only is it my anniversary…
-
I basically take a diet break the whole month of June. (Anniversary, birthday month; it's my month!!). And then again in December (Holidays!). Plus, I want to live life and have times for holidays, so no plan I devise for myself keeps me from having "feast times" (within reason, within current weight maintenance). I still…

I weigh daily because I like numbers. I weigh in the morning and when I get home from work (though this metric point isn't always taken). I do the second number because I'm curious as my "get home from work" weight is my lowest (contrary to most folks who's morning weight is their lowest). Sometimes the numbers are…

@ConfidentRaven My mother was diagnosed with MS when I was 12 years old. I've watched her, been her legs and arms, and seen the toll that disease takes on a person but I've also seen how she's kept her spirit, even now. With my sincere heart, I wish you the BEST! Congrats on losing 86 pounds, that is no small feat! Good…
