I take mine at about 10pm before bed. No waiting and getting hungry!

Ahh, sorry to hear you have the pain in the bum combination! I too have hypothyroidism and PCOS. I'm pretty lucky with my PCOS as it's quite easily controlled and I don't have insulin resistance. My main symptoms were acne and completely crazy periods. However, my hypothyroidism is a REAL pain in the bum! The first thing…

I ALWAYS feel better when I give up wheat but still eat oats and rice. I've never had any 'scientific' diagnosis though, so I always end up falling off the wagon - which is ridiculous because if I know I feel better why not stick at it! Anyway, I've read lots of studies that say eating much less gluten is definitely good…

I'm 5 foot 2.5 and I have must have a big frame because 133 is my ideal. I'm currently 155 and wear a size 12 top and size 14 jeans. Anything less that 133 and I think I'd look like a lollipop head! I have a couple of friends who are the same height, but they're definitely small frame people as they look great at about 112.

I've tried the method where you work out how many calories it will take to maintain your goal weight and just eat that. I don't have a huge amount to lose. I'm 11 stone at the mo (5 foot 2) and want to get to 9 stone. I'm averaging about 1600/1700 a day and I'm steadily losing a pound a week. Although in my experience this…

I'm not sure about my vitamin D, but I found out I had really low B12 after going back to the docs as I was convinced my thyroid levels had gone awry again. However, all the symptoms that time were down to B12 - the extreme fatigue and mental fog were the worst. My iron levels were low, but not low enough to worry about.…

To focus, get the weight off for my health and not give up! I want to look back this time next year and think "wow, I stuck with that for the whole year and I'm now healthy and happy".
-
Haven't tried this - will definitely give it a go! :-)

I think it was over about 4 months. Then I was told to not run for six weeks to give it a rest. That was at the beginning of this year and I still haven't been able to manage 15 minutes without pain. SO ANNOYING!
-
Yeah it sucks! I just want to run! I'll have to try these and see how I get on. :-)

I was a beginner before - just running ten minutes here and there in the gym. Then I got the shoes and built up to 5K. Then the problem set in. So I guess it could be something to do with my technique or the shoes? I think I might try my old shoes and see what happens!

Thanks for the advise! I've actually been thinking of acupuncture so I might give that a go! As for trainers - that's quite interesting. My knee problem coincides with me getting new trainers. I went and had my gait analysed and they said I ran on the outside of my foot so gave me some stability ones...perhaps I need to…

I recently go diagnosed with B12 deficieny - has really similar symptoms to when my thyroid went wrong. Anyway, he said your pee SHOULD be green and it SHOULD smell when you take them, that way you know your body is absorbing enough of the B12 because it's peeing out the rest! He said your wee should smell like asparagus…

I've found I feel worse when I drink beer than any other drink. Which I don't think is anything to do with my thyroid, just seems to be the case. And I've ALWAYS been a migrainey/pukey hangover person if I go over my limits. So I now NEVER drink on a empty stomach and I try and have a small glass of milk to settle my…

Yeah, everyone seems to be having really good results with low carb! I think I'll have to start weening myself off them though as I do love brown bread and pasta!

I had one but never really used it. There's loads of other things taht are better and cheaper. 1) If you're feeling brave the 30 Day Shred gets AMAZING results. It's a DVD and all you need are a couple of dumbbells, some trainers and of course a good sports bra! If you look around on the boards you can find loads of…

Thanks everyone! So useful! I'm currently vegetarian...which usually leads me to eat too many carbs! Do you guys all eat meat/fish for your protein? Thanks! Stevie

Yes thanks, that's really helpful! It's great to know exactly what people get success with. From what I can tell by looking at other success stories on the internet, lots and lots of exercise and low carb seem to be the key for a lot of people. Exercise bit for me is fine, but god do I love bread and pasta! Guess I…

Awesome advice everyone! I'll let you know how I get on!

I started at 6 when I first went to the doc, then it shot up to 8 in a month - so started getting treated. I'm on 100mg now and my TSH is between 0.5-1.0 and that is where I feel good. I was lucky to have a doctor who agreed to up my med from 75mg, when my TSH was 2.3 as I still didn't feel good. it isn't an exact science…

Thanks everyone! I think it will make a huge difference to me. I also love reading about other people's successes - so amazing! Everyone works so hard, it's really inspiring! x
