  • You should be very PROUD of yourself! You are making positive changes in your life and you have every right to celebrate!! Congrats and keep up the good work!
  • To start with: These are all recipies that I have got from MFPers. I have saved them and are sharing again. I have made some and so far, they are all hits. I get no credit for these - again, I have gotten them over the last year from this site: Greek style lemon chicken rice soup 12 cups no salt added chicken broth…
  • Oh, how I love this thread. I precook for the week every week. On Sundays, I usually make a 5 days worth of Steel Cut Oats in the crockpot, then portion them up so that everymorning, I just spend a minute or two reheating the oats for a hearty breakfast. I will also wash and cut up any fruit I am planning on having as side…
  • Hi: I am 43 years old and am also 5'7" SW: 236 CW: 178 GW: 155 (but subject to change) Good luck everyone!!!
  • Welcome back. You are at the same place I was 8 months ago. I was 236 and just didn't know where to start. I did log my food for 1 week and eat like normal, just to see what it told me. Well, it told me that I ate a lot of pre-made, high sodium, high fat foods. So I made a deal with myself. Once a week, try to make a new…
  • Groceries are a struggle. I plan, plan, plan and then plan somemore to make it work for me. I buy foods when they are sale, I plan out my week in advance, so I know what I am eating for 99% of the time each week. I cut up whole watermelon's at a time, or pluck and wash 2 lbs of grapes at a time, so that I always have some…
  • So glad you joined MFP! I agree that this is an awesome sight. I always knew that I was doing something wrong with my diet and exercise, but couldn't figure it out until this site gave me an easy way to see it on a day to day basis. Knowledge is powerful. Welcome! And I wish you continued success!!
  • I feel your pain. I get up every morning at 5:00 am (I work at 7:30) just so that I can walk the dogs. In the summer heat, they can't get enough exercise in the evenings, it is too hot for them (they both have very short snouts). It took some time to get used to it, but now I look forward to it probably more than they do.…
  • I've done 11/60 of regular planks. I need to luck up how to do some of these other planks. I only know how to do the regular ones.
  • I was just craving Mac and cheese and, quite honestly, this sounds way better that what I was imagining! So putting this on my list to cook for next week. Thanks
  • I saute some shrimp with whatever veggies I have available growing in the garden or in the fridge. Add some 5 spice and some oriental sauce and serve it over brown rice. Yummy and very low cal.
  • You could make a stroganoff. Cook the rice. (As per directions) saute the Beef along with the mushrooms, onions and peppers (DRAIN OUT THE GREASE). Then put back in pan, add about a 1 tbls of beef gravy mix packet with some water and add greek yogurt to make creamy just before done. Serve beef concoction over rice.
  • Good to know! Thanks for responding.
  • I use crisp celery and salsa. I still get that "Crunch" effect.
  • I am at 3.5/60. I have got some catching up to do.
  • I did the 30DS back in March. I loved it. I did take a rest day, I also played beach volleyball on a city league. So on those days, I typcially did not do the 30DS. I didn't have an HRM back then (although I wish I did), so I logged it as Circuit Training. Besides the 30DS, I played Volleyball, walked everyday and…
  • I am with you. I don't have much time during the week at all, so I pre-cook and prepare almost everything. Sunday nights I spend a little time cutting up fruit and veggies for the week. When I do cook, I freeze one or two portions that I can thaw those out for a meal in the a few weeks (from when I cook it). I basically…

  • Great Idea! I am excited to get some good "Core" workouts in!
  • Same with me! I ordered and was afraid that I wouldn't be able to keep up or do all of that. The first few times, I flailed a bit at times and I still do (I am only in the 2nd week), but I am loving it. And I am starting to get the routines down. I think once I know them, I will really be rocking the place. It is so funny…
  • Oh, count me in! I was just thinking the other day that I should be holding the plank position everyday, no matter what kind of work out I am doing, but I haven't been motivated to start! So, thanks to you, it's plank month!!!!
  • Thank you!
  • Oh, please, Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! I need all the help I can get to make it through this holiday season and staying on track (where I have failed so many times in the past). Height: 5'7" SW: 236 CW: 181 GW: 155 I want to wear some super skinny jeans for New Years! :)
  • I have another suggestion for you. You know how you buy things in bunches, like carrots, celery, onions, and you only need a little of it for your recipies. I just dice it all up when I am cooking the first meal and then lay out what I don't need for this recipie on a cookie sheet and freeze for about an hour. THen I scoop…
  • I cook every Sunday and make a bit extra for "freezer meals". I have them all portioned out, all I need to do is thaw and reheat them. Here is a list of what I have: Turkey Noodle Soup Turkey Rice Soup Turkey Wild Rice Soup (can you tell, that I just cooked up a turkey one day and made a bunch of soups out of it) Broccoli…
  • I am doing it right now and I love it. I am amazed as to how much fun it is. Now that I am starting to learn the moves a bit it I am able to get into it a bit more. I love it. A friend request is coming your way!
  • Good for you! Always great when we can notice those little improvements in our health and daily life. Keep up the good work!
